would you rather listen to a couple of winkers who say it's on the same day as last year (so original!) or legendary popcorn inventor (?) orville redenbacher?

Give me a sequel to Mario Hoops 3-on-3, please.
Mario Sports Mix sequel more likely, as it was a sequel to 3 on 3 itself. Once the motion controls are gone, the game will be much better.

I want more Square cameos in it, namely Crono and 2B.

I get that Strikers might've been disappointing, but I really don't get the hate that Tennis and Golf - IMO the Switch games are the best for both series (admittedly I haven't played the Game Boy entries).

There is already a full TotK trailer sitting on the 7th floor at Nintendo's Development Center (EPD3, Zelda team is here). Let that sink in.

Even better:
There's probably even an early version of the game you can play from start to finish.

Unless we only vare about the marketing.
Apparently it's on the 9th according to a couple of insiders.

I'm still going to continue hoping for next week, because the 9th feels soooo far away.

Wait, is it actually?
Who's been saying that?
I've been gone and last time we were still in the predicting the date by looking at other things that could correlate phase.

The Mario sports games have always been mediocre in my opinion. Not just on the switch. The last time they were good was probably on the Wii/GameCube, even then tho I still avoided them.

Golf is a lot of fun, it just doesn't have any single player modes that really click.

According to witch Insiders?
Thugstas, who I don't really know anything about, but people here seem to trust him.
There's also necrolipe who runs a Nintendo focused website and explicitly said it's not next week.

Thugstas is not an insider and has never been one.
And I'm pretty sure necrolipe said he doesn't think there will be a Direct next week because some other event is happening, but is not certain about it.

I'm not saying the Direct will inevitably be next week, but I'd say it's as likely as the week of the earnings release. With so many pre order updates it might go either way, really.

Not next week … January the 40th

I think it's just a case of the lacking games tainting the reputation of the actually good games together with expectations for game content changing between the console generations.

Oh and the whole patching content in after release does leave a bad aftertaste.

I’m here only to do some addition and a little bit of mathematics and sometimes I just wink 😉

man I was so excited for a Direct season without insider teases completely shutting down speculation

now the nsuid's, preorders, and popcorn theory (lol) mean nothing while "january the 40th" dominates the thread

Bring back NBA Street with the Nintendo All-Stars team.

Please don't remind me, the extreme sports series I miss the most.

I was in the middle of the golden age of basketball games and I wasn't aware of it. NBA Street, NBA Ballers, NBA Jam... Not to mention THREE different classic annual releases from EA, 2K and Sony. I refuse to believe today we don't have enough demand for more basketball games...

That's why I mentioned a potential sorta exciting future for NSO where games like Conker actually could show up just because of freaking Goldeneye's really high Japanese age rating

Holy shit, that's terrible. Absolutely dreadful. If people are going to make shit up, why not go wild and go full "dream Direct"? It would be bullshit, but at least it would be entertaining bullshit.

Looking forward to the next Nintendo Direct, however, I do not think there will be any big game announcements from Nintendo but updates on titles they have announced in store for us this year.

From my prediction list, I think the safest bet is that Metroid Prime Remaster and a Super Mario 2D game will be the unannounced game to be shown here, I believe there is a chance that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Story DLC could show up here tho I could see it being announced at E3 with short reveal to release.

I hope the next Direct, or well Pokémon Present I suppose, shows Detective Pikachu 2
And, that it has you play as Pikachu this time, walking around with a magnifyer glass, finding clues, and talk to Pkmn with actual full voice acting (since he would be able to hear them talk).
I want Pokémon to talk with full voice acting dangit!

welcome back to critique that leak
  • switch sports is done. they added the last cosmetics and a title for getting them all
  • no, 4chan, sakurai isn't going to come on a nintendo direct and advertise his youtube channel
  • tomodachi life was tomodachi 2 lmfao, do at least a modicum of research before making shit up. bonus points for "miitopia engine" lmfao
  • re: alola, pointing out that something is stupid doesn't make me believe you

overall, this one is a 2/10, especially terrible. at least they didn't try to act like splatoon 3 would be in a february 8th direct, but based on the rest of the leak it's more likely they forgot it exists

Raccoon challenge: Find a way to not complain about something during direct speculation for 24 hours

Difficulty level: Impossible

Fake leaks are always amusing.

I always wanted to try it and see now you judge my creativity.

But that’s too much time wasted. I should do it at work so I feel like I’m getting payed 🤪

About Switch Sports, there's something I still wonder about: Nintendo has actually said they plan a way to let users obtain items that couldn't be obtained during the update blunder in the japanese page. They could put back previous collections as is but they could do it a different way as well.

(at the bottom of the page)

So potentially we could see a new game in the ring fit series? I mean how many games used the peripheral? The first one sold over 14 million I believe.

an interesting thing about switch sports that mondomega pointed out to me is that a nintendo recruitment page shows some early versions of the box, one of which has golf. it seems like the seven sports we have now were what was intended and updates had to be done for time

I personally don't think that Switch Sports is dead. The game is selling quite well, I can imagine an One Year Anniversary update or something.
