Fable AND FF7R???? When was this found? Could it have been for XB3 before it was announced?!
Was posted in the Monolith Soft thread last month. He's still working on it.

WW and TP definitely not coming this year.

I don’t think they should come without Nintendo making some effort to differentiate them from previous releases.

I respect that Wind Waker doesn’t need work, but the choice they made for its HD version was made over a generation ago. I feel like they could come up with different approaches to lighting (RT?) and other tiny alterations

I'm telling you, late Jan or early Feb is the direct.

I know this because I'm on vacation for 10 days starting tomorrow, and Nintendo avoid my holidays to announce stuff 🙃

If BK/BKO has a chance, then I no longer feel so despondent over the next-to-nil chances of Custom Robo/Chibi Robo/Starfox Adventures getting remade.

Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Luigi's Mansion and TTYD on top of that would be absolutely gravy

I think my amiibo collection may have outgrown my shelf.

If you can spot Cat Peach, I will be very impressed.

Just give a Direct with the Silksong date and I will shut up for the rest of the year, Nintendo. I swear.
Microsoft definitely has some kind of exclusivity deal with that game so I wouldn't expect it at the next direct, especially if it hasn't come out on Xbox(which it should very soon).

edit: I'm an idiot. They don't.

If these are true, 2023 year of the GameCube on Switch confirmed
Someone at Nintendo must have been exposed to one too many "The GameCube was Nintendo at their best and nothing comes even close" youtube videos and now they are gonna be like "All right, you motherhuggers, time to put your money where your mouth is!"

Wait what? MS has an exclusivity deal for Silksong?

nope, they don’t

they got to premiere a trailer, probably got the deal for that announcement, but by no means whatsoever is that XBOX exclusivity. especially not for a game that was played at a Nintendo Treehouse and got a teeny tiny little PS tweet.

leth does this shit very strategically. they’re hitting different audiences at different key moments. XBOX was a surprise, so it made the biggest splash to have their trailer there last year.

also faux edit: sorry for accidentally publishing this originally with 1.5 words

I think I was just assuming they had a timed exclusivity.

I figure it will be a remake/remaster heavy year but Zelda, Prime, and some of the rumored stuff like F Zero and maybe Baten Kaitos and Metal Gear will be more than enough for me. The Switch has good momentum behind it in terms of all the support it gets. It was always going to be a good direct.

After somewhat keeping up with what I missed, is Doug Bowser going to Japan a normal thing or maybe we should expect something soon? How often does he usually visit Japan?
Depends on which thread we're in, hang on lemme check..

*checks*

Okay so it is definitely not normal and we should absolutely expect something big soon.

I'm kidding, it's totally routine for NOA president to visit Japan a couple times a year at least

I spent way too much time looking but I'm proud of myself: Her left ear poking out behind Piranha Plant lmfao

Can't wait

The most reasonable assumption is that it's Zelda related. Both recruitment pages linked to the same job listings back then. Next possibility is that the "action game" was shelved until their work was done on Zelda, and now it's back on.

Do we have any sources for F-Zero other than Nate? His words felt more like speculation, rather than a hint. I'm still on the team "no way".

I think on his podcast last year, Nate said F-Zero was coming in 2023. It didn't sound like speculation to me.

Here's a Tweet from Nintendo Prime about a Mario Odyseey marketing email. It's a weird email and Nintendo doesn't usually tease like this so I think it's nothing but Shpeshal Nick also liked it and mentioned a sequel being possible?

“There’s 2 seeds on Mario’s face. Super Mario Sunshine 2 confirmed!!!”

TPHD and WWHD could even come to the Switch successor in like 2-3 years from now to fill an otherwise Zelda-less year. I don't think Nintendo is in a hurry here.

TOTK does not need any advertising. The final trailer wont be released not sooner than two months before launch (same asi the BOTW). There were March directs. So there is not rush at the moment

2023 search results show that Zelda is the tenth most searched for game so far this year with Hogwarts being number one so I'm going to disagree here. Lots of folks waiting for something to get excited about with TOTK. We know next to nothing and interest have dwindled outside of Nintendo centric places like these forums.

Why it doesn’t need advertising? People wants to know what’s different between the first and the second one, until now we know 0.

It’s not about the final trailer, we need the FIRST trailer.

That “study” wasn’t particularly credible and we don’t know if it’s counting, say, people searching for just “new zelda” or “botw2”

But it does need advertising. I was watching a former Zelda speedrunner this weekend and he had no clue TotK was coming in 4 months lol. Everything needs advertising.

All the games that got searched more have had way more trailer and info drops in 2022. Obviously they were more searched.

Once the first trailer comes out (next month) and consistent marketing starts (probably after Bayonetta) you will see the game everywhere. Animal Crossing started only releasing most game info like a month before the game came out and I don't think they had trouble marketing that game.

As far as Tears of the Kingdom goes, it's quite likely that the data for it was skewed. "Breath of the Wild 2" was used to collect the data for it, but the Tears of the Kingdom title has been known about for quite some time, and at this point, it's safe to say that there are many fans who are searching for info on the game using the official title. Regardless, this still provides a decent idea of the games fans are looking forward to in 2023, and it will be exciting to see which ones manage to live up to the hype.

As Gay Bowser said, this study isn't enough to declare 'interests have dwindled outside of Nintendo centric places'. Nintendo didn't even call the game BotW2 in their marketing prior to the title reveal. Excluding 'Breath of the Wild sequel' is going to discount a lot of queries. And of course it didn't even include the title of the actual game which was known for three months prior to this study. Meanwhile 'Sons of the Forest' is #4 on that list and I've never heard of that game until... that list.

The list could be flawed but I do notice that the Tears of the Kingdom discussion has been pretty slow opposed to a few months before BOTW. Obviously Nintendo will market the game and interest will increase.

yup, since Breath of the Wild had an entire E3 to it. But for months we had “Zelda has no towns or NPCS” so I wouldn’t say the discussion was all that fun lol. Like it took until Switch presentation where we saw actual towns and NPCs, and “dungeons lol. So some are just mis-remembering how BOTW was marketed after E3

Besides. Folks are just being Impatient. You’ll get all the info you need weeks before release. Plus impression and leaks for those that like to dig in.

While Zelda content creators clearly hate Tears of the Kingdom’s marketing. It’s really not hurting this game. Even some Zelda podcast want you to believe Nintendo is sucking at this.

Prediction. TotK gets delayed to Fall 2023. It's current release date seems like such a slam dunk, but constant delays to torture Zelda fans is just apart of its DNA at this point.

I agree. I think they know that whenever they start marketing the game, everyone will be hyped af. It is in fact a great luxury that they can just do whatever they want. Doesn’t matter if the trailer comes tomorrow or a month before release. It will be huge and they know it.

Regarding your other point: You make it sound like everyone is kinda stupid saying „it has no towns“ etc. I don’t think you can blame people for that.

Hard to compare to BotW's buzz which was the first proper HD open-world Zelda game coinciding with the launch of an anticipated console. Both open-world Zelda and the Switch are known quantities at this point, I'm not surprised that active discussion would have quieted. But there is still heavy interest in it, I'd say it winning the Most Anticipated Game means something.

What reason did anyone have to believe there'd be no towns? Aonuma even said that summer they didn't want to spoil them.

The weird thing about this marketing cycle for Zelda is that even though we do have a date, it just doesn’t feel close at all. Something feels off.

I was going to start a rumor that a remaster of SSX Tricky was coming to the Switch, but that would mean EA has to remember the Switch exists, and, well...
