So do we think this seemingly confirmed new action is for switch or the next system? It could launch in the first 12 months like Xeno 2 did.
Monolith has had ads for "action" game since before Xenoblade 3 was revealed. it's probably not so much a game type as we know it

I'm salivating at the idea of Monolith Soft announcing a Xenoblade 3 Torna equivalent expansion + an action new IP double combo at the Switch Drake direct 👀

Please come to fruition. I think a new IP with a different combat system would do wonders for Monolith

The LinkedIn listing says it's for Switch. I don't think they would have specified as such if it wasn't

But if they didn't specify then people would have gotten suspicious and assumed they're hiding the console because its the successor. So they put the console as Switch to distract us.

IT'S OBVIOUS SHEEPLES WAKE UP.

MonolithSoft always has some nice artwork (especially when they put out hiring notices). There're certainly been some, not directly related to any particular projects, which have intriguing promise if only something were ever to come of them.

They're neat on their own, regardless.

First one reminds me of Erythia Sea, third one almost makes me think of the Tornan titan, and the fourth has heavy XBX vibes

But no, unless they're concept art of those things.
All of the art on that page seems to be from art contests in the studio, so none of the pieces seem to be related to game projects at all.
we're lucky the nintendo uncles cant get their hands on these. imagine if they tried passing them off as concept art for a new game.

I think we have a quick X port in order. 3 already finishes up the whole original arc quite neatly so i'd imagine that it would be a while till 4. Additionally it would make no sense to leave the switch with being so close to the definitive place for xenoblade but omitting one game stuck on a failed console. Would also fit in well for that 2023 year of ports rumor.

If XCX comes back I wouldn't expect to hear about it this year. The XC3 DLC will probably be the focus for 2023.

Monolith has 264 staff as of December 2022. For context, they were at 273 staff as of December 2021.

I see that as contextually pretty good. In December 2021, they were in late stage development with their biggest game ever, now they're probably in turnover period between big projects with many of their contractors gone completing their XB3 work. So that means they're either quickly replacing or keeping those contractors and holding up well against the standard postgame development decline. So once their next big game is in peak development, I assume they'll push higher in employee count than ever
