Hello i'm from IT, have you tried turning it off an on again?

Ok new dream from yesterday.

Next Star Fox game is again developed by Platinium Games, its has gameplay segments very similar to Astral Chain or Vanquish but with sorta open world airwing segments and other on rails missions. It also features multiplayer segments. Its much higher budget than before and directed by Taura.

Would you buy it?.

Miyamoto is going to have a big presence next year I see. We’re going to see him a good amount more than the past years.

Tears of the Kingdom
Pikmin 4
New Switch hardware
Possible announcement of new Star Fox
Possible announcement of F-Zero GX Remaster
Possible announcement of 2D/3D Mario
Mario movie

He’ll be intertwined in all of these I see in 2023. Stuff like hardware he’ll discuss with Pikmin 4.

And don’t forget F-Zero GX remaster/remake.

Sony had a great NPD. Seems shortages becoming less and less frequent. Good. Now dear Sony, about that redesign...

Waking up every morning at 5 to walk the dog half a mile is taking its toll on my health and sanity.

Would a Nintendo tweet showing you Pauline with that sweet Next Level Games class animation in Mario Strikers help? It sure made me smile, and i don't even have Strikers!

Is there any rumors of a new Star Fox or just speculation? It seems a bit unlikely for a new one to be announced next year, maybe a few years down the line.

tbh that sounds like it’d be extremely beneficial provided you can get to bed early
I cannot get to bed early, need to work late to make up for hours missed during the day walking this beast and taking care of my kids.

Also, I don't mean I get to leisurely roll out of bed and brush my teeth and have a drink of water, I mean he runs around the room jumping on us all so that I need to quickly throw on whatever clothes and shoes I have nearby and walk in the dark while making sure he doesn't piss off any sleeping deer in the neighborhood.

Oh yeah that sounds like hell

I’m sorry

I hope coffee works

Interestingly, THQ has been pretty slow on Switch this year, compared to last year and 2020. But they have THREE leaked games (they even teased one of them), yet still no announcement. I guess porting process is not going fast as they hoped.

That recently revealed racer, Wreckreation was initially announced for Switch as Dangerous Driving 2. I expect a Switch version of this soon after its release.

Also, it's been 9 months since Batman leak. What's going on there? Is it supposed to be a Drake exclusive?

THQ has had a weird year overall by the looks of it, definitely an average year for them I'd say - but they have a pretty big pipeline and I'm sure Switch is still a part of that. But it rather normal for them to have a short reveal to release schedule for their Switch ports so I'm not expecting them to change that really.

Was it really 9 months? Wasnt it like february?
Would be a super weird set of games to have as drake exclusives.

Anyone had any experience with randomizers? I’m thinking of trying some once I get my steam deck. Was always curious after seeing some at games done quick a while back.

-The DioField Chronicle demo is pretty good. Once it hits a cheaper price. I’m definitely buying. It feels like a title tnat be cheaper by November. Plus it’s on all consoles, that’s usually happens unlike Triangle Strategy where it’s still full price, been waiting for a sale and still nothing. Keeping that Octopath price for a while I guess, but it’ll hit 50% off one day. I can wait.

-The Star Ocean Demo was enough to tell me that it’s not for me. Got that Xenoblade X problem where the text is really small. Also the camera really sucks. Probably might be the success they want and the sequel to this game will be much better. Well that’s the hope for the fans I think, which would be nice.

- Valkyrie Elysium demo was also enough to tell me it’s not for me. I’ll probably get the classic game tho. That seemed interesting

I think Demi’s done making those! I believe last year‘s was the final one.
Of course I only watch this video for the second time this year and realize too he specifically mentioned it was the last 😂

But damn, TIME FOR SEPTEMBER ON LOOP ALL DAY LONG

The anime completes the 1-2-UDG saga. Watch if you want to know what the characters are up to after the games ending. Just be prepared for a terrible trainwreck. And you don't really need to play UDG to understand what's going on, but you'll miss 1 or 2 references.

V3 is unrelated to the other games, but without going into spoilers, they're at the same time still required to have played beforehand.

Okay I'm just gonna play V3 and then Google about UDG and the anime. Thanks!

Steven Universe is amazing and was sorta the show that really made me especially adore seeing queerness in Cartoons. Had not really seen it before that. I was of course never UNinterested, but, yeah. It is just a very very fun and wholesome show. Also probably helped some of the stuff in The Owl House to even happen, which is my current go-to show for wholesome queerness and also horrible trauma, haha.
I am truly glad that Steven Universe led to getting more queerness for kids. There were meaningful risks to doing so - the show got cut short thanks to the Garnet wedding, for example - but Sugar and the team stood their ground, and we got groundbreaking things as a result.

I really gotta watch The Owl House! I also wanna watch Amphibia, too...
Love this excellent post! I'm about to make it official, but yes if you missed any prior round of questions or want to give more answers please still answer if you want! These are mainly meant to generate fun discussion!

First off, huge high five to another big Yu Yu Hakusho fan. My absolute favorite show from Toonami I saw growing up. I'm mainly a sub fan these day, but for Yu Yu I always have to go for the dub. It was excellent and added so much to the experience. It got away from me today as I finally wrote my big Trails thread, but I plan to write up Western cartoon answers for these questions since in general I'm just a big fan of animation. I grew up strictly with Cartoon Network, so most of my favorites are from there. Sadly I did cut cable in 2012 as my viewing of TV dropped considerably when I started going to college, so I definitely sadly missed most of the shows in your post. Chowder was the last one for Cartoon Network to really hit me before then and I've only seen a few episodes of Adventure Time here and there. One day when I get more streaming services, I'd love to go back and check out the big ones I missed. I've never seen Steven Universe for example even though I have a few friends and family who really enjoyed it!
I know Hunter X Hunter gets all the love nowadays, but I hope people can go back to Yu Yu Hakusho and love it like we do.

While Warner Bros. Discovery is doing a great job screwing over animation and animation creators (RIP Infinity Train), HBO Max is still the best (legal) place to watch Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and Craig of the Creek. It's got the CN classics too, so you'll probably love it a lot. If you got access to Hulu, you got all of OK KO available to watch, too. Really wish these shows got physical HD releases, the closest we got are DVDs and digital releases on iTunes and such.

Oh hey, they finally brought Rumble Garanndoll onto crunchyroll from funi, time to shill it again

Question 1
Probably Magic Knight Rayearth the jrpg(Sega Saturn)
Magic_Knight_Rayearth_Coverart.png

Got that fun double curse of being a licensed Sega Saturn game. But it’s a trials/secret of mana like action rpg I believe. Just would be interesting

Question 2. Our first direct announcement thread was hype stuff. The N64 NSO reveal was pretty fun too, especially the following MK64 tourney
Triple curse, MKR was localized by Working Designs so it has rights issues from that AND was made harder for the US release.

Any time A new picross is announced I am obligated to post one of the awesome DS background tracks. Too bad the new music isn’t as good:

Didn't see it discussed yet, but I guess odds are good NA is about to get another game trial announcement fairly soon (if not JB3 as the same trial)

Very much agreed, it is very nice to see. I am very glad she opted to do the wedding anyways. But also very pissed at all the plotlines and such cut short because of them cancelling it for it. :/
But yes you need to eventually watch Owl House and Amphibia, some of the best Disney content in many years for me.
Sorry, I did not have to quote your entire thing, not sure how to... do it more efficiently

Question 1: What previously unlocalized game or games do you want to see brought to Switch with a definitive release? Alternately, what classic game (more than ten years old) would you like brought back on Switch with a definitive release? Feel free to answer both questions and share any QOL additions/improvements you’d like to see! Secret bonus question: what lesser known Switch games do you highly recommend?

It depends a little bit on how much work can be done to such a release.

If a full remake is on the table I'd have to say Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! Happy Richie Ōsōji! on DS or Chibi-Robo! Clean Sweep as it has been dubbed by fans. We never got the original in the West even though it's apparently a great followup to Plug Into Adventure. I have not played the DS version but if it's really similar to the GameCube game it would fill a nice niche on the system.

If it's just a remaster, I'd have to say EX Troopers. I love the visual style they were going for (even if it probably partially cost us a localization in the end) and just like most Capcom action games it's mechanically intriguing. As for improvements, I'd say the input (or execution?) delay need to be toned down and difficulty should be rebalanced to make it harder.

Have to think harder about the second question!

I forgot Tunic is coming out next week. I’m still debating picking it up for Switch or PS5, but given the Switch trailer I might just opt for PS5 — though I’d prefer playing it portable, honestly.

Nice! Don't get me wrong, it does not even remotely compare to authentic Mexican food. It's not even Mexican at all (even if they try to claim it is); I've heard of 'tex-mex' and 'cali-mex', and I've sometimes heard Chipotle called 'Colorado Mexican' which I guess kinda works? But even then, there are tons of places to get actual good authentic Mexican food here if that's what you want. But as a quick fast food burrito, it's tasty enough and gets the job done.
I should try Chipotle just for the hell of it, but I have a feeling my family would know if I do so and shame me for it lol.

Jackbox as NSO game must be a hint that Everybody's 1-2 Switch is getting announced soon.

I see hands are still absolute torture to draw.
Anyways
Games, yes, games good
Recently beat The Last of Us Part 1, still good. Playing Part 2 again now since felt fitting right after.
Playing lots of Splatoon 3. Done with Single Player and in desperate need of new Stages!
Feel I need something Mario soon. Luckily, Mario + Rabbids is very soon. And then Bayonetta right after.
Lots of nice to play still, this year.

Question 2: Share your favorite memories from the first year of Famiboards and share your personal hopes, dreams, and goals for Year 2. These answers can speak to your time here on Fami, your life in general, or a mix of both!
Question 1: I want the rest of the 3D Nintendo Rare games on Switch. So DK64, Banjo-Tooie, and Star Fox Adventures. I know popular opinion of these games is that they were all significantly worse than Banjo-Kazooie, but guess what: popular opinion is wrong^! If I had to pick just one of those games, it would have to be DK64. That was my first^^ game on N64 and hence on a home console, and it blew me away. I took me I think years to beat it (not playing the whole time, but still), and there's just something about it which makes it just feel so much bigger than any other N64 3D platformer. You may complain about the bloat, but again, you are wrong^.

^My opinion on these games certainly has nothing to do with nostalgia. Certainly not. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that DK64 was my first^^ home console game, or that I also played, beat, and loved the other two during my childhood, or that I never played Banjo-Kazooie until I was an adult. Nope. Certainly nothing to do with those facts at all.

^^Technically, the "first" honor was shared with S.C.A.R.S., which was mediocre and didn't even same my progress for some reason, and some golf game I never cared about at all.

Question 2: For me, my favorite Famiboards memory is the period from when we first brainstormed the idea to shortly after launch. We really went from "we should make our own forum!" to actually doing it in an absurdly short amount of time, and the energy those early discussions had was just incredible. There were for sure some teething issues at the beginning (hell, there's teething issues now) but it was just so thoroughly outweighed by the "Everyone is here!" moments we would get as more and more NintendoEra regulars made the jump. Even now, with over 3,000 members, we still get the occasional new member whose name makes me go "holy shit they're here!" But we've also got so many new faces (names?) that have seamlessly slotted into the community, and it's been really great seeing the site grow beyond "the NintendoEra thread, but a whole forum".

Has an insider ever known about a twitter game drop or one of those Metroid or Zelda video drops? I don’t recall anyone knowing the Metroid delay video was coming or any of the AoC or Zelda delay videos were coming.

It would at least make it understandable if Nintendo was dropping a Metroid video on YouTube no one would know about it.
Nate teased the Age of Calamity announcement a day or two before. Idk if he knew it would be that game or not but he knew Nintendo would make an announcement.

God damn it I want to share every little cool thing I'm making with you people but then there would be nothing left for people to discover when they play the game.

This is a pickle.

Finally got a date for the new booster vaccine this Saturday. I got my last booster at the end of December in 2021.

Guess it is time. My wife had Covid this year in April. I certainly got in contact with that shit back then but never actually had any positive tests or symptoms for that matter.

IMO I don't think he will have any presence when it comes to TotK.

So just Aonuma and Fujibayashi doing the press, then?

Or are we thinking they'll continue with the new "not having individual people represent the company" strategy that Kit&Krysta were talking about and go with just trailers and infodumps?

Aonuma and Fujibayashi I think yes. They both helmed some interviews together after the DLC dropped.

I think they will handle it the same way they handle 3D Mario: the franchise "chief"+ game director.

It were Koizumi and Hayashida with 3D World who did most of the PR and later with Odyssey it were Hayashida + Motokura.

I’m liking Clone Wars so far. It’s definitely a kids’ show but in the same way the movies are kids’ movies imo.

Wondering if I should start my spooky season game run earlier since there's too many games I wanna play.
