I just had a dream where I was driving around town and Richard Karn, TV's Al Borland from Home Improvement, was out walking his kids around all decked out in Halloween pumpkin costumes. I stopped to say hi (like I knew him), and his family wanted to go home so I offered to help him at the gas station during some big event that night, so I went with him downtown along with Tim Allen and his kids (who were actually his tv kids for some reason: Zachary Ty Brian, JTT, and the third one) where there was this big.. it was like a Christmas-style celebration except for Halloween? And as we were going I started running to catch a traffic light before it went red, and Zachary Ty Brian started running to catch me, but I was really fuckin fast so I put up a good race, and we ended up out of downtown back in the residential homes where some people were mad at us for running so they started coming after us, cornered us in an alley, and then part of the cast of New Girl came out and beat me up.

...anyway I'm going back to sleep.
I hope you told Tim Allen that he's a dumbass

There must be a special place in hell for the devs of Citrix Workspace

Sounds like classic Schmidt.

Cough syrup's a helluva drug, kids

let it be known that this is the thread where I’m dropping the first 100 Grögols

and that’s not like a stretch goal or anything, I’m practically done. there’s about ~50 left to background knockout and add a pop of color to but that part goes quick

you’ve been warned!

Can we delay September
Unfortunately the powers that be wanted September shipped out even though the devs haven’t quite ironed out the bugs

Just wanted to pop in and say I’m probably going to stop coming to this site.

If you don’t care for my thoughts and feelings, cool, but I’m posting them anyway.

Since the beginning I’ve felt that that board has revolved around an inner ‘clique’, and anyone with viewpoints that don’t align with that circle are met with open hostility. A lot of people have mentioned they moved away from Era because the Nintendo threads were full of trolling, and I honestly never saw that. It felt to me like that group just wanted anyone with other viewpoints to not be allowed, and labelling them as “trolls” made it easy to disregard their worth and opinions.

It’s happened multiple times where I’ve popped in, spoken about topics that are seen as ‘bad’ like my love of trophy systems, and just been openly mocked by the same people that say they want this site to be positive and welcoming, including moderators and admins.

I don’t expect much to change, but I wanted to post my thoughts in case it leads to any introspection, because I don’t feel welcome here, and I think it would be nice if other people like me that sign up in the future don’t end up feeling the same.

Ciao.

Just wanted to take the time to respond to this post, as I don't believe sentiments such as these should simply be ignored.

I think I speak for the entirety of staff, when I say that we very much do care about the community's thoughts and feelings. Feedback from our members, whether positive or negative, is essential to keeping Fami worth engaging with, and we all bear the responsibility of making the types of quality contributions we'd want others to make.

I don't mean for this to sound like a generic, boilerplate "mod response", but in light of the new ST, I really do wanna stress how integral making use of the report system is. This isn't just aimed at you, but at everyone. We strive to give each and every report our honest, sincere consideration, doing our very best to take as much context into account as reasonably possible, and we seriously don't mind the kind of report that consists of a simple "Hey, not sure if this is actionable, or against the rules in any way, but I figured you folks would want a heads-up, because - reason -". Any report made in good faith is one that will, in turn, be received in good faith. Reports are evaluated by a team of people, rather than a piece of software, and we always seek to give it our very best. We just really, really need to be kept in the loop about these things, as there are only so many of us, and we can't viably keep up with each thread's ongoing developments to the extent we'd like to.

I realize not everyone is going to feel comfortable with merely submitting reports, however. We do have other avenues available, as well. We want folks to feel open to DMing a staff member (ideally, one they personally trust), if there's a level of discretion required, and we will never turn away anyone who would prefer to have more open, transparent conversations, through the relevant feedback threads, in the Research & Development board.

We may not be able to do anything about your past grievances surrounding prior communities, but we can sure as heck acknowledge them here, if you feel there's been some undue carryover to Fami. Benzychenz, I'm genuinely sorry you've been made to feel unwelcome, and that goes for anyone else reading this, who may share a similar feeling. If you change your mind about leaving, and feel like we can arrive at a more productive outcome instead, my DMs are open.

I know a lot of you want that TP/WW HD announcement. But some of us are quietly manifesting another Grezzo 2.5D Classic Zelda game.
What is Grezzo working on?

Screw Wind Waker and TP, I want the Oracle games

Looks pretty good, ngl

Saw the Easy Allies preview for this, you can become a dolphin and a coconut and so on. I already want to play it!

I like my squids, but I'll be picking the JRPGs in this one.
Right? As if those are two completely distinct groups?
I would be so into a Splatoon JRPG or TRPG, it's not even funny.

JRPG kid obviously coz I’m a weeb
Squidkids are from Japan so if you're a weeb you're allowed to vote for either

Physical collection when?
Seriously. Even if they continue the series past 3 games (seems likely since they're churning them out every 6-9 months) a pack of 3 on a cartridge feels like the right thing to do.

Not me. I'm trying to will Ever Oasis 2 into existence. First one was pretty good but limited by 3DS's aging hardware. I want a huge sequel, a reboot even, on Switch.

That is one funky looking lemur. I am digging the designs of the Paldean wildlife so far. Already beats out Galar for me.

Did xghost777 agree to make this thread just to advertise the September 27 release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero on the Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation 4? The first official release of this beloved game in English, which uses the well-regarded Geofront fan translation as the base? Is xghost777 hoping to convince people to spend $49.99 on a 60+ hour RPG that works as a great starting point to the Trails series even if you haven't played the Trails in the Sky games? Is that what they're doing?

I'm sorry if my hatred of trophies specifically pushed you over the edge

Question 1: What is your favorite multiplayer game and/or memory?

Three friends and I used to get together semi-regularly back in high school to play a variety of split-screen FPS on a friend's XBOX and it was always a blast, most notably Halo 2 but we also played other stuff like FarCry Instincts and GoldenEye on N64. It wasn't really about the game per se but mostly to just shittalk and joke around for a few hours.

Question 2: Animal themed games are becoming more and more popular. We had Untitled Goose Game a few years ago and this month we have Stray releasing physically and of course Splatoon 3, a very scientifically accurate Squid experience. What animal themed game do you want to see next and what does it roughly look like if you were to design it?

A Sifu-like game where you play an actual giant praying mantis that joined a shaolin temple.

Wow memories of Halo 2 with friends came flooding back to me. Lots of all-nighter LAN parties in my early teens.

I got a new job proposal with a 58% salary increase. Today was a good day.
HELL YEAH that's the way to do it!
Recently left a comfy secure well-paying job because I felt like I wasn't doing enough for society and my community, and ended up finding a job that gave me a 40% salary increase. Sometimes you just gotta go for it

I feel like I'm a bit on the opposite end, I tend to get bored easily unless I'm facing more and more challenging tasks. This is actually my 3rd different job in 3 years (I work in cybersecurity and thankfully for me it's a booming industry with far more demand than supply of workforce and that allowed me to step up the ladder every year) but this time I had to ponder really long if and why change job as I am at the limit of what I could realistically achieve with my experience.
I will need to keep my next job for at least 2-3 to make the next step and for me that's a big commitment. Still I'm happy.

How exciting! Are you gonna take it?

I am considering various options but I think this is the most interesting I've been proposed, also because...

SECURE THE BAG, HOMIE

THIS. As soon as I sign the contract I'm buying my first motorbike.

Fuck work. I wanna lay in bed all day and play Xenoblade 3.

Like I did the past two days.

I did it. I played Lucia's campaign as well. Now I won't have to play DMC2 ever again.

Never again.

This music's making me feel them feelings. God, I love SMT IV so much.
(Which made SMT V even more of a disappointment! Hah. Can't miss the opportunity for a little knock here!)
Oh I'm with you! Or rather, I really enjoyed SMTV for what it was and had a good time with it, but it's a game that the more I think on it and look back at it, it definitely didn't match up to SMT4 for me. SMTV still has a good vibe in places and great music (still a bit below 4 there, too, though, even if it's great), but the atmosphere and vibes in SMT4 are all-timers.

I'm hopeful they do an SMTV:A of some sort and really shake it up, but I also wonder if one of the biggest things that draws me to SMT4 is the setting, and that's not something that another version of V will be able to match very easily.
