No testfire announcement was disappointing. It would have been a good way to test and see if I could try it on my internet
There was a splatfest premiere announcement. That's pretty much a testfire. No testfire announcement was disappointing. It would have been a good way to test and see if I could try it on my internet
Oh, Ok. My bad.Excited for the card battle mode lol.
Splatoon 2 also had exclusive items in the app.
there literately is one on august 27No testfire announcement was disappointing. It would have been a good way to test and see if I could try it on my internet
Have you just awoken from a 15 year gaming coma or something? And paid DLC getting announced before launch….
Is this a joke?
Why?I think it's time Splatoon goes F2P, they've missed the boat this time, but I suspect they'll need to do so instead of releasing the next one.
Didn’t get to watch the direct so this is good news for me sothere literately is one on august 27
If item ordering is back, you'll at least be able to order it if you see people wearing it.Adding exclusive items to the app, that extra mode, etc. It just feels like stuff that should be in the actual game.
EDIT: The exclusive items aren’t new, but I still don’t like it lol
I very much doubt it, I don't know if Splatoon 3 will light the world on fire, but I'll be surprised if it doesn't sell similarly to Splatoon 2, which will be a far cry from needing to go Free to Play.I think it's time Splatoon goes F2P, they've missed the boat this time, but I suspect they'll need to do so instead of releasing the next one.
F2P only really works when you are multiplatform, at the same time Splatoon 3 will sell 5 million+, that is enough to get the investment backI think it's time Splatoon goes F2P, they've missed the boat this time, but I suspect they'll need to do so instead of releasing the next one.
I think there was more they could have detailed if they wanted to, it's just that story mode isn't the attraction for most people. Instead of just showing the Octo Expansion-like stages in quick cuts, they could have talked about the different kinds of stages, differentiated between the (presumable) longer linear ones and the shorter challenge-like ones, and so on.I'm not claiming it's bad, let's make that clear. I expect to enjoy it.
That was also hastily written, and I don't think it expressed my thoughts well. I think there's just not much to really show. We already know what it is.
Nice to hear for those of us who enjoy Ranked and Competitive play.

It's rare for Nintendo to do it though. Smash Bros Ultimate was kind of alright since Sakurai made it clear these were extra. The game still had plenty going for it besides that.Have you just awoken from a 15 year gaming coma or something?
Why?
Overwatch 2 is adding an entire new singleplayer component though. It's also not the greatest comparison since Overwatch 1 is effectively ceasing to exist after 2 is out.Is it more iterative than completely revolutionary? yes! Can people want more than that? yes!
At the same time 5 years after the previous game releasing an iterative shooter sequel is like the standard in the shooter world (hello Overwatch 2).
Look all im saying is that being dissappointed is fine, but at the same time it shouldnt have come as a big massive shocker
5 years minus the time COVID stole. probably more like 4 years tbh.Bro, 5 years is bonkers for such a basic, iterative sequel. They are likely holding a lot of already finished stuff back for the classic "free" updates. Which brings me to the thing I hate the most from Nintendo in the Switch era...
Correct. It just scrolls by in a text box while you do other stuff.wait....so you don't really need to watch the news if you dont want to???????
Now - any news on Cloud Save functionality? Or has Nintendo still not figured it out yet?
But with Atari 2600 standard graphics, amirite?that's wrong, if it was made by game freak it would be a game of much higher quality.
Thank fuck. I’m not gonna praise Nintendo for doing something possible since the 00s, but still. Thank fuck. They have! According to the website, cloud saves for single player data, and server side storage for multiplayer data.
Off the top of my head, these games had paid DLC announced before launch:Barely anything new besides some gimmick features and a 3 team mode that’ll probably be hell to play…
And paid DLC getting announced before launch….

IIRC this was confirmed months ago.Now - any news on Cloud Save functionality? Or has Nintendo still not figured it out yet?
There was a freakout when the cloud save support listed only single-player data, but imo it was always obvious this was how it would work. Glad it's confirmed now. They have! According to the website, cloud saves for single player data, and server side storage for multiplayer data.

It is. MW2 is coming 3 years after MW(2019) and already seems to be a bigger justification of a sequel that Splat 3 is.Bro, 5 years is bonkers for such a basic, iterative sequel. Wooh I'm glad they're making this idea work after all!!The three kids on the logo and the game being called Sploon 3, makes me wonder if we'd ever get a three way battle of some kind.
Would be new and pretty funny. XD
But I guess a bit harder to make work for competitive?
Add Fire Emblem Three Houses, too.Off the top of my head, these games had paid DLC announced before launch:
-Breath of the Wild
-Xenoblade 2
-Xenoblade 3
-Smash Ultimate
It's not weird anymore, whether you like it or not. At least none of these games felt incomplete without DLC, and frankly this doesn't either. I doubt the DLC is close to done.

It just highlights how Nintendo is slow to a crawl with its multiplayer titles, but the fanbase will eat this up regardless so….
Well why aren't they making a campaign that people wont skip? Bungie were able to do that with Halo 1-3 and Reach, not sure why we'd expect any less of Nintendo.
Except your logic is flawed because the story mode campaigns in Splatoon 1 and 2 and Octo are really good and with lots of great world building and cool boss battles and stage gimmicks.
But it seems most people want to just play multiplayer.

The question is based on what im seeing is that they dont wanna make an ''All time classic campaign''. It is not within the scope of the project.I've played them and they're great, but if Splatoon 3 is just more of the same, then they won't hold any hope of being all-time classic campaigns.
