I need help, I just unlocked a couple of heroes and I see a silhouette of a hero I haven’t come across yet, he’s between
Gray and Juniper. I even have Ashera and Alexandria, but I should have discovered another one before and I dont see where in the map

Could anyone help me in a non spoilery way please? Like go here, etc.

Thanks!

Hint: You've already met them as part of the story, between Riku & Manana's hero quest and Juniper's.

It was the unique music mostly. I know there's a cave theme, but this wasn't it, and it sounded like it could be intentionally similar to the fairy fountain themes. That and how magical and blue the spring water looked. And the cave being just one small room in the side of a mountain reminded me of the 2D games' fairy fountains, like that one in ALTTP just before moving to the screen with the Eastern Palace, if you keep going east behind the trees.

Maybe there will be a quest there, I've admittedly been slacking on sidequests. I was just so surprised to hear this tiny area have its own theme. Come to think of it, there was a place in TTGC's version of Dannagh called the Verdant Fairylands.
It's official, let's declare it a Zelda fairy fountain :)

So uh, I have done every quest in the game except Riku and Manama's ascension quest. I looked it up but its not there and I had them in the party/everyone has their quest level 10

I want to see the new costumes but the next wave releases in DECEMBER!. Any chance they speed that up? lol
note that it says BY. not IN. by december/april/december means sometime between now and then, not that exact month. you've seen my gif that shows the costumes, though, right? if you just want to "see" them? or do you mean costumes from the next drop?
What to do with silver nopon coins? I have around 50 coins.
a) spend them on leveling up classes your party has bad affinity with to make it go faster
b) wait until you stumble over the merchant...

Yes, I'm aware of the classes outfits, I was referring to new random outfits

I dropped off multiple times playing Xenoblade 2, but goddamn am I invested in the story of XB3 lol. It's awesome. Glad I said the game to Easy because system upon system upon system jezus, I have no idea what I am doing most of the time. Just trying to attack-break-topple-daze whenever I can lol. I feel like a fool but survive so it's ok as long as I get to follow the story. Annoying how you are kinda (not really, but prompted) to pick another class when fully ranked. Ah well.

I mean it's not kind of prompting you, it's totally prompting your to change classes lol.

The next baby steps for you:

The hammer user has the next step in the break topple combo with launch, although it's a talent art, which means it must have it's meter filled.

Talent arts fill their meters by playing the role of the class correctly. For example defenders fill the gauge by performing things the defender class should do, using moves that attract aggro, actually gaining a monsters aggro, especially if you pull it's attention from a non defender party member, sitting and attacking right in a monsters face.

The hammer is a fighter, it fills its talent art by doing fighter stuff, using arts with debuffs for attacking the front or side or back, for the hammer the big ones are the front attack that knocks the enemy back, and the side attack.

When setting up your arts be careful not to fill up your slots on arts that don't fill your talent art.

I have a question for those who are very advanced in the game.

Does time matter in npcs routines? Because in both Xeno 1 and 2 was important in order to get access to some quests, right now seems like this feature does't exist at all, which is obvious because there are no cities atm.

I've reached Colony 4 after 15 hours, yeah i'm slow as fuck

Actually if you go to the trending section right under the friend's list, you can see which of your friends have played said game and how long they have played the game without waiting 10 days.

I would take a screenshot, but I am at the office today. :(

This is what I can see on the trending tab under my profile.

Aaaaah

Overkill is such a fun chain attack side effect. I just beat two enemies with overkill and each awarded me 1700+ exp. Feels good.

Still need to continue chapter 3 which the recommended level is 17. I’m at 29 now lol.

So apparently if you both complete a Hero order, and finish your fourth order as the second of an Ouroboros pair, it lets you do the Ouroboros order as a fifth order. This does an absurd amount of damage, it’s great.

Is there a way to go beyond even 5 orders?

Incredibly excited by how much everyone is enjoying the midgame.

I just started Chapter 4 and I have an idea of where I'm headed. I'm super excited to see this area.

Wish I had the time to play more, I've had the game since release and still in Chapter 2, Between work and Children I am lucky to get an hour or two a day. I will try and sneak some time at work today ;)

Early Chapter 4 Non-spoilery Thoughts:

- I keep thinking I must be getting close to having most mechanics and new things unlocked, and the game keeps proving me wrong, and I love it

- I didn’t hate the second region or anything, but wow the third region is far more interesting both to look at and to explore

- I’m pretty sure that at some point you get the ability to go to the snowy area way above the very beginning of the game and I can’t wait to see what’s up there

Two kids as well and also right there in Ch2. Makes reading this thread difficult.

I can't believe they basically put the captain of the Thames from Xenogears into the game.

WE!

ARE MEN!

OF THE SEA!

Obviously not the same since I don't have kids, but I have been off and have go back to work tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it.

Any tips how can I quickly unlock a class for the non inheritors?
It fills up quicker the more people are in that class. So if you have both the inheritor in the class and the hero, it will fill up quicker than just the inheritor or just the hero. When the first person after the inheritor unlocks the class, you can have all three in that class to help the others unlock it even more quickly.

I believe the level difference between you and enemies also affects the rate.

Oh wtf?

You mean to tell me that you CAN cancel normal arts into other normal arts but you unlock at chapter 4?? A bit weird design choice if you ask me

The Moebius theme would pass for a final boss music in tons of other JRPG.

Why is it a tutorial track lol.

ACE/Mitsuda/Kenji/Kiyota/Abounnasr are crazy

I JUST got to this point and that was my reaction, too. Like, wait, I not only can now use the slide wires but ALSO cancel arts into arts??? Amazing

The characters designs, characters and the writing of said characters in 2. XBC had more likeable characters and I enjoyed the writing 10x more.
I would always argue that objectively the writing in Xenoblade 2 is better then Xenoblade 1 honestly.

You should like Xenoblade 3 honestly. Well at least up to chapter 3 since that’s where I’m at.

I just find it weird that they lock that gameplay element until chapter 4 considering
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 teaches you that at the beginning of the game

Yeah I'm just not into it, I dislike the combat strongly and combat is the only real reason to explore in Xenoblade which makes the whole thing fall flat, I like the story a lot but I can't stay engaged for 50+ hours when the gameplay is this mid.

Has anyone been doing some of the ascension quests to get the classes up to rank 20? I'm at the beginning of chapter 5 and all my classes are still capped at 10. Is that normal or should I have been knocking out some ascension quests by now?

How far are you into the game? Because combat really opens up after the third chapter.

In the third chapter but it'd have to be something that shakes up how you approach combat very dramatically, I'm just really over the whole break/topple/daze maybe launch or smash until you build up a chain and one shot the mob while you watch canned animations for 5 minutes thing XB does. It's just dull, the only real strategy I'm applying is trying to get my party members to not walk from ledges they can't walk back up on mid combat.

Holy shit... figured out a trick to basically rush past any high level enemy infested area

If an enemy aggroes you, draw your weapon to let the defenders tank the attacks/draw the aggro, and just keep clicking in the right stick to dash away until you're safe

Found a big optional area filled to the brim with super high leveled enemies and used this to rush all the way to the end, finding a camp and a unique enemy... Scary
I stealthed my way through low maktha, it's wild down there.
Level 70+ dragons and gogols everywhere. Never seen dragons as a normal enemy before in Xenoblade - reminded me of that desert island in Xenogears. Then there's a nopon hermit in the middle of it all. And this game keeps teasing me with giant red gogols. I swear I'll find the real Rotbart!
Yeah so in regards to lower Makna... Used the trick I described in the first quote and found some utterly bonkers stuff in a cave. Superboss + legendary equip item

Also relevant to something you said, found Immovable Gonzalez shortly after!

Don't do a topple lock build for your party then? The game gives you tons of of class and combat options that you never have to both with going for that kind of combo. I frequently don't even bother keeping the whole combo on my team.

I'm with you on combat not feeling amazing. It's fun enough, but class experimentation is punished and NPC healing effectiveness feels like RNG.

If it's make or break for you, just put the game on easy and focus on the story/exploration.

I heavily disagree. You have a bunch of options that encourage strategy like the different classes, and the ouroboros/interlink system that have their own skill trees.

What about the class experimentation is punished?

The bar is in hell if you though xc1 had good characters so you'll probably enjoy this one way more

I didn't agree some of the complaints I read about the maps being limited & now I definitely don't agree now that I'm well into chapter 3

It might just be my own experience, but changing roles in normal/hard, and especially fighting unique/bosses results in a lot of deaths. I personally felt the need to re-calibrate whenever I fought something meaningful, and it broke the game flow for me. Also, NPC behaviour when tanking and healing felt inconsistent and ineffective for characters assuming different roles. That might say more about the AI than the class system though.

Regardless, I swapped to Easy around Chapter 4 and the whole experience has been more enjoyable; frequently testing/maximising roles without fear of constant failure is liberating (everything dies pretty quickly now, but it beats the 10 minutes sponges on Hard).
