I think France has always been best buds with Japan. Anime and manga are also big there.

I think I found out this year but France is a bigger gaming market than I thought, specially for switch
It’s a bigger market for anime/manga than USA or any other country not named Japan and Nintendo biggest Market in Europe. Now that Switch is also the console of anime games it’s just a recipe for success.

France is the world's second manga market, at least it was like that a few years ago and the market has exploded since then. It has always been a great country for video games and Nintendo in particular. For example, there will be 300,000 units on day one for Mario Strikers and 250,000 units on day one for Switch Sports.
According to the director of Nintendo France, the console has sold more than 6.1 million units and is aiming for 7 million by the end of the year.

So now that I'm not under any NDA anymore, have to say something about LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The review code I got, despite my Switch being in French and having a French Nintendo account, didn't displayed any other audio choice than "English (UK)". I'd be curious to see if anyone here have the same issue. Maybe the other languages will be added in the day one patch ? Pretty weird though, given I saw PS5 gameplay with french audio on YouTube.

Also, overall, the game is fun, and the Switch version runs fine outside of a few scenes. Not groundbreaking, mind you, it has the same strengths and issues as other LEGO games (great space combat, fun humor, ok shooting, terrible platforming, uninspired level design). Had a bug that blocked progression on Episode VII but doubt it'll happen to a lot of people. And the new "explore the galaxy" mode is pretty fun, albeit a bit repetitive.

You should enjoy the game if you're a SW fan, have a kid who's a SW fan, or just need something easy to play on co-op with a kid or someone who doesn't play video games much.

I think there is a big difference between USA and Western Europe when it comes to the idea of Anime/Manga , in most countries of Europe Anime has been part of the culture since the 70s/80s/90s due to being played in our local TVs so anime isn’t seen as a weeb thing by that many people , animes like Shin-Chan or Doremon are as beloved and influential to the culture as local series. Of course modern anime is different and it’s seen more as a weeb thing but not that much compared to USA.

I'm pretty sure you're Spanish cause Shin-Chan is only famous in Spain across Europe if I'm not mistaken. Anyway I think you're right.

I have a couple of manga/comic from french authors and they are awesome. Makes sense a console like the switch would have great success there.

Btw, not reading to much into it, but on DF Direct today they were surprise by the image quality of the trailer for BOTW2. They mentioned it could just be a high render trailer as well.

Kirby 100% done. This was damn good. I might enjoy that game that shall not be named more but this was definitely the biggest and most pleasant surprise of the year for me.

Yes, it's main market in Europe, it's Spain by far. A huge reason for this is that Catalan media invested heavily on anime in the early 00s with series like Shin-Chan and Doremon and in Shin-Chan case it became such a hit that it was also translated first into Galician, then Euskera and later Spanish (This is also why Shin- Chan biggest region in popularity is Catalonia even if it hasn't been dubbed into Catalan since 2008). The series became so popular in Spain that Shin-Chan even had a couple of episodes about him visiting Spain.
My point, it's how Japanese series were adopted like locals series, Shin-Chan isn't seen as a foreign series here, it's part of our culture (even if adopted culture).
edit: Also yes I'm from Spain.

Finished up the post game for Forgotten Land and it was great.

Overall, definitely worth the wait for this, but, I still don't think its better than SSU imo.

Probably tied with Planet Robobot, which considering how great that game is, is not a detraction.

What if the rumored new DK game is actually a new Mario vs. DK / DK ‘94 game in 3D?

It feels weird that two of my most anticipated games this year are point & clickers published by Devolver that were announced out of the blue.

This year is bananas.
What's the other point n click?

Got an appointment for that neurologist finally for May 2nd. Earliest they could have gotten me at the time. Long wait, but hopefully I can get some help with the headaches

Same in South America. Got very little american cartoons, outside of Simpsons, Looney Tunes, Smurfs, and some very certain series. But as a kid growing up? It was 90 percent anime and tokusatsu like Ultra Man, Mazinger Z, Super Sentai, etc.

Edit: Shin Chan and Doremon are also big - or were - down here, along with Samurai Pizza Cats and Saint Seiya. Ah, a fellow Catalan!

Question for 3DS owners. I have a 16gb, which is honestly usually more than fine normally, but am about to take advantage of the Sega/Atlus sale. So I will need a new SD cause many of those games are almost 2gb.

So, can I use a 64gb micro sd? Nintendo recommends 32gb SDHC, but 64gb is SDXC. Will this cause issues?

Uh oh. How so
I assume this has to do with Musk being the owner with the highest percentage of shares.
This, coupled with the context of him running his mouth about whether or not twitter protects free speech. He ran a poll about it (and of course the votes went towards twitter currently being anti-free speech) and said "The consequences of this poll will be important," so that doesn't spark much confidence for me. And he even went as far as to refuse to block Russian propaganda from Starlink because he's a "free speech absolutist."
Conservatives are already calling for him to now reinstate Trump's twitter account.
😑

Looks like I'll be spending an even bigger percentage of my time avoiding mainstream social media and sticking to a goofy Nintendo forum. 👍

Good god that fucking sucks

I’m baffled how people missed this. It was clearly mentioned in the tutorial when you get the house 😂
Really? I don't remember there being a tutorial at all with the house? I didn't even realize it was his house till I walked inside and Elfilin says "your house is round just like you"

How do you place the figurines? I've jumped around that house, lit the fireplace, read the book, slept in the bed, and come down the chimney, but no on screen indicator for how to set the figurines

You have to format it before to FAT 32 format but it works perfectly if you do it (do a backup of the data inside the microsd before doing it btw it will delete all the data in the microsd)

Musk owns 9% of the shares of Twitter, which really means jack shit. Changes aren't coming because of someone owning 9% of the shares, lmao.
