Speaking of that. Hope everyone that was a GameStop Pro member (I’m not) took advantage of the recurring $15 off coupon. Apparently still works with Apple Pay.

For anyone on this forum that might be an exclusive Switch owner, these huge game downloads and updates are complete buzz kills. So many times I am ready to start gaming after a day of work, only for their to be a mandatory update waiting for me and sometimes they are fucking huge.

Yeah, it’s annoying. Not sure the solution but, this is a problem for any sort of advanced model that people need to consider. Maybe the games will be optimized, but don’t have much faith in most 3rd parties to do that if they have the ability to do straight ports. And Nintendo likely isn’t going to be throwing in 1TB internal storage.

No idea, I'm not exactly an expert on this stuff.

Maybe they'll sell an SKU without a dock or AC adapter, assuming it's compatible with the other docks.

Got the Animal Crossing DLC, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, and Live a Live for $10/$10/$35 respectively. Hope they don't cancel the last two lol
 
Even if leaked Nvidia specs suggest Switch Drake could be very powerful I won't get my hopes up, Nintendo never does that kind of stuff. Keeping low expectations is my way of life.

Personally I’d rather have a decent upgrade that maintains battery life versus something like the Deck that can run Elden Ring but for less than 2 hours.

Tomorrow marks 5 years since the Switch launch (and BoTW). I think Nintendo would acknowledge this if the current, global situation was absent, but I'm not so sure.

I think people like you make up a rather large portion of the game-buying audience, actually, and I'm actually very confident that they're going to put this new unit out alongside the current line-up, with support for all units moving forward for at the very least a few years, until whatever this new thing is can be brought down to "standard unit price." They've said they do not want to cast aside their 100 million plus userbase, and they'd be frankly pretty darn stupid to think they could just stop supporting the current Switch units, especially with the OLED being not even a year old.

Short version: I think you're gonna be OK! This unit will be for the people who want it. If you don't, that's OK too!

It's not upscaling, it's using some sort of wizardy that needs to be engine-level. So it's not a one-size-fits-all solution, games would need to be made with it in mind.

Many are dismissing it because it dosen‘t fit in their idea of what they want Nintendo to do next. They think rumors not turning true right away is proofing their point that a Switch Pro/Hardware Revision or in whatever camp they are in, were obviously a stupid idea and Nintendo would never do that.

This all leads in to that there is so much misinformation about Nintendo (to be fair this is in some way Nintendo‘s own fault) and most stuff staying secret that you can basically have any take on the future of the company and you’ll always find people who will agree with you (Especially if you are pessimistic or very negative).

Anyway it is silly to antagonize industry people or journalists because "thing they said didn‘t got true and now I‘m angry". Not talking about those who can behave of course, it is perfectly ok to not believe in a rumor or not to jump to conclusions right away with leaks.

Depending on the game it can probably render some games at 4k without any magic (aka DLSS). Not sure about Animal Crossing.

But any existing game would need to be patched to take advantage of this.
