  • New Switch is named Drake
  • Prominent insider called Nate Drake
  • Uncharted movie in theaters with Nathan Drake
  • New Pokémon revealed who is a duck, also known as a DRAKE

@NateDrake

If you don’t mind could you give a run down of all things you heard related to this Switch Drake? Its been awhile since it was spoken on so I don’t remember. I know you mentioned some games you heard were coming to it.

"The Youtubers told me enough NateDrake, they told me you lied about the Switch Pro"
"No, I am the Switch Pro!"

I just realized this ST might very well be the ST we finally see news on Goldeneye at long last

I’m ashamed because I know I’d be willing to pay scalper prices if necessary to get my hands on the Switch’s successor.

I'll probably hold it for an episode but the basics are: dev kits went out in late 2020 and continued distribution into 2021, RT/DLSS support (which is confirmed further today), select games targeting end of 2022 release window.

And for those that now claim this was "obvious" or has previously said Nikkie, Mochi, and I made it all up for clicks: kindly go outside and touch grass.

How do you feel about the codename for this thing being "Drake"

Yeah people were expecting news about it "in the coming weeks" in like, mid February right?
That was Grubb's quote according to that one podcast he did iirc. I sincerely hope coming weeks meant like 4-6 tops, but I think it's reasonable to assume it could be as early as next week or the week after with news coming from Microsoft/Nintendo and a release date for August (25th?) to coincide with the game's original 25th anniversary release

I'll wait until an actual reveal to comment on what the shape of this takes, but I'm not sure how I would feel about an iterative iPhone-style approach to console upgrades, if that is what this is. I don't care about higher performance, the only reason I buy new consoles is to play new games, and if I have to drop a ton of dough to get a few New 3DS-esque exclusives I'll be a bit peeved I think. We'll see!

You mean touch grace

Being completely honest, I don't understand how people kept dismissing everything involving "Drake" when Bloomberg themselves came out with information. Its one thing to not believe someone like yourself, or Jeff and the like (Even though you two are more correct than not), but to dismiss Bloomberg is ridiculous.

This whole thread rn:

LMAO

Love it.

So Nate never shows his face because he is actually the new switch hardware and didn’t want to reveal himself. Amazing.

Lol I don't get people who don't want to talk about switch 2/ pro rumors. We should all want an updated model. The switch is under powered as hell and is showing it's age
I find the conversation exhausting because:
  • It always centers around technical specifications, which I personally do not find interesting.
  • It hinges entirely on leaks and speculation, so nothing is guaranteed and thus there isn't as much tangible information to dissect (this is not a dig at the leaks and/or leakers; I believe them, but there are plenty of examples of expectations being ramped up based on leaks only for those same leaks to be revealed as overly optimistic)
  • It has been done to death. We are going on, what, two years of discussion about a Switch Pro? There were countless Youtube videos, podcasts, forum threads about the Switch Pro last year. I don't know what else there is to say. I hope it is true? And...
  • ...I'm satisfied with my Switch, and I would much rather talk about upcoming games than what device they will be released on.
But, hey, I won't yuck your yum. Feel free to talk about it, but I hope this helps you understand why I (and others) aren't really interested in spinning up this cycle one more time.

I've seen post today doubting and dismissing it.

The scalper when he buys up the Switch 2/Pro you thought you would get this holiday

MOTHERFU

If this thing is out this year (gonna keep believing it is) then I actually need TWO: one for me and one for my girlfriend. Though I actually am pretty confident I'll be able to get them.

What is there to discuss at this point? This only confirms what what was already well-rumored, outside of incorrectly speculated launch windows.

Until something is actually officially announced, we don't know Nintendo's actual plan as far as launch timing, etc and nothing here really changes that.

Nintendo is already struggling to produce OLED switches and get them in stores and is likely gonna wait to add another even more expensive item to their manufacturing pipeline when they can produce more regular and lite switches which are still selling very well.

Until market factors make it worthwhile, and they've already implemented some prices cuts to the current line, Nintendo is not in any rush to add a more powerful switch or successor, and certainly not just to appease the hardcore gamer who is complaining about lack of power.

It's always wise to wait until official announcements for these kinds of things before getting your hopes up.

I've been playing Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. It's been pretty good. Campaign was probably the best in the series. Weapon crafting needs a lot of tweaks and fine tuning.

holiday 2022 lets go

hype levels through the roof today even though we will not hear anything until like June at the earliest lol
When is the next investors meeting? But yeah, June direct seems like the earliest we can get to any news.

June direct with the Drake, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Xenoblade 3, Mario Movie, Botw2, Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3 and 2D DK ???????????? LETS GO FAMI

I feel compelled to say re: whether BOTW would come out this fall/holiday alongside Xenoblade, Pokemon, and potentially something else.... Nintendo is not worried that you're not going to buy BOTW. Switch era has proven that some (more the usual) titles are going to be evergreen. Zelda and Pokemon are certainly among them. If BOTW comes in October and Pokemon in November, for example, there are large groups of customers who (1) buy both at launch, or (2) budget one for the fall and one for sometime next year. I just don't think there's a calculation where there are people who WANT to buy BOTW but NEVER WILL because Pokemon comes out a month later. They'll get it soon enough. "Pushing" BOTW to March or whatever will not save anything in the long run.
