It's been 20 pages since I last checked the thread and all I understand is that we're gonna be eating pizza under an umbrella together.

Hopefully you apologized to her. When someone prepares you food, unprompted, that person loves and cares about you. And one day that person will be gone and you'll be all alone remembering the good old days when someone loved you.

This is excellent life advice. The post you're replying to is a meme from four years ago.

Animetendo

Nintendo needs to drag Yoichi Kotabe out of retirement and have him draw character sheets and key art for anime adaptations of Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, Tingle, Fire Emblem, and whatever your favorite Nintendo series is. Yes, I know he's eighty-five, and no, I don't care.

Yes I care, let the man rest, but I'm serious about the rest. Except Fire Emblem, that doesn't need a series because it's already anime/s

More people learning about February 9/10 correspond with national pizza and umbrella day. Good good. That was a great way Nate did it.

Who else is excited to see this on Wednesday?

Yeah, cant wait to see Splatoon 3

Honestly, advance screening tickets in IMAX go on sale for The Batman tomorrow too, so I might kill two birds with one stone and order the Batman pizza on Wednesday for a double celebration lol

What are the odds we hear about BoTW2 on Wednesday? My BOTW-obsessed Grandpa will be watching the Direct with me, and I don’t want to see him disappointed :(

For whatever reason it seems like a lot of media people heard about the announcement today
Yeah there seems to be a lot more teasing this time around. Wonder if that means there's a particularly leaky game in the Direct?

What I'm saying is Mario + Rabbids confirmed

Finally caught up on the thread today! Been posting in this thread from the start, but I’m feeling extra excited to be part of the ever escalating hype directly with y’all as the announcement looms ever closer! All the pizza talk makes me want to get pizza tomorrow and Wednesday lol.

One of us, one of us!

I'm getting pizza Wednesday and it rains all the time here in Syracuse, NY so I'll probably use an umbrella within the next two days lol

Honesty, I feel like they need to shake up the formula quite a bit and move away from it’s on-rail origins. Personally I’d like to see the series move to a mix of epic free roam battles and ground-based 3rd person shooting. And I think the latter is better suited for a western developer or you risk ending with the on-foot parts of Star Fox Assault.
You don't need a western studio for that. Just a team with a clear idea of where they want to take the series and the greenlight to do so.

Is this the moment we get unreasonably hyped for the vague hope of a direct while running around like headless chickens on the internet?
nah it seems like the announcement tomorrow has legitimately gotten leaked to games media somehow

You know, I've never really fully realized until now how cool their animated logo looks lol.

I wish other "2nd party" Nintendo studios had logos before their games got revealed too. It helps build hype imo.
It helps that you only see it after credits roll, so it's a treat. It's like a cathartic cherry on top of each of their games. First time I saw it was when I finished Xenoblade X really late one night (it took a looooooong time, fuck that final boss) and all lights were off, everything was pitch black in my room, and then that logo capped off the whole evening. Gawd. ❤️ Perfection.

The problem is Miyamoto, who keeps going back to the Star Fox 64 well. The series needs a fresh start and complete re-imagining, preferably from a western studio. And beyond just mixing up some of the core gameplay concepts, a new title needs to be a graphical showcase for the Switch. Give us the Starlink version of Fox and team rather than the trash we got in Star Fox Zero.

I’m really hoping that Next Level Games is given a chance to tackle the franchise and turn Star Fox into Nintendo’s version of Star Wars. The work they did with Luigi’s Mansion 3 is still mind-blowing and I want them apply their talent to a broader array of characters & settings. There is so much damn potential for the franchise if Nintendo is actually willing to invest the time & energy. But it can’t just be the same old on-rails shooter we’ve gotten time and time again.

What they reaaaally need to do is go back to the space opera style of music the SNES Star Fox had. Aside from a few good tracks here and there, the rest of the Star Fox games have SUCKED musically.

Oh actually, Star Fox Adventures had a great David Wise soundtrack, but that's not really a Star Fox game.

If a Nintendo Direct doesn't get announced tomorrow, I will have to find another excuse to not work.

Since they have taken so long making their next game, I wonder how the next Xenoblade will be? Larger than XB2? One day they are going to craft an entire planet or something, they already do continents for 1 game.
