This makes me happy that I dropped the game when I did. This stuff is maniacal lmao

The reason a mid February Direct is the most common for Nintendo is that’s probably just how long it takes to put one together after ask the companies return from the holidays and whatnot.

Also, glad people are coming around to the 17th. Yay, stats and numbers!

nah, it's the 9th

that's when it was in 2019, our best analog for this year so far

Was the pattern broken between Nintendo switching back and forth from Wednesday to Thursday year by year?
kinda

the september direct broke pattern but it was to fall on a specific day before TGS
February 2021 was on a Wednesday, September 2021 was on a Thursday.

But, IIRC, the main reason September's was on Thursday the 23rd was because the 23rd is a national Japanese holiday (autumn equinox day). So it couldn't be on Wednesday the 22nd since that would put it on the holiday in Japan.

Since February 11th is a holiday in Japan then I guess it would have to be February 9th in America and February 10th in Japan. That’s if it’s that week.

What if the tweet is "Tune in for a new Nintendo Direct airing this Thursday 9AM PT for a look at games slated to release in 2022, including an extended look at the sequel to The Legend of #Zelda: Breath of the Wild"

I'll die on the spot.

Well I have good news

That’s gonna be at E3. The Feb direct is gonna have an extended look at Splatoon 3.

How does this work now over here, does DC still need to get banned?
To be serious for a minute I think that whole "sacrifice" meme was in poor taste. And I'm definitely partially at fault for joking about it too.

But what it did was generate hostility and trolling despite those not being serious or intentional, and some people who don't constantly pay attention to these threads might not realize it's all a joke. Which also winds up excluding them and making the thread and community even more clique-y.

Anyway just my two cents on the matter.

Sure guys, we may get a Nintendo Direct on February 9th, but this week? That’s right gamers, it’s Stinky Horse Game and a State of Play😎

I think the Direct will happen on the third week of February, two weeks after the financial report, just like last year.
