Hahahaha, that is indeed a factual statement regarding the poor quality of Dragon Ball GT!

I have nothing against Faulconer's music in Z. I'm against it on principle, but I'm not incapable of liking replacement music. However, Mark Menza's score for GT was AWFUL. I cannot watch GT in English. I find his music to be so annoying. Thankfully, not only is the Japanese music better, but it's really good! It was one of two good things about GT, the other being that I prefer GT's ending to Z.
Hot take: I consider the real ending of Z to be the end of the Cell saga, as Toriyama intended, before his editor forced him to keep making more chapters and he retaliated by dragging the last big arc into self-parody. Ending with Goku finally recognizing what trouble he causes and deciding to stay in heaven while passing the torch to Gohan is *so" perfect, and then the Buu Saga completely rips all that up. I think the ending to GT kinda tries to emulate that original ending in the Cell saga to some extent.

Shame about the crazies being everywhere.

One side effect of Covid which I kind of think has been good that we have a lot of people in society that can be identified as batshit crazy.
Yeah, lots of them even wear hats that make them easier to spot! 😅

Haven’t checked out that series, but wow that game does look pretty cool! Just crazy how much mobile games have been stepping up lately.
Yup, it looks so good and I really wan to try it. But good news is that it supposedly comes to PC and consoles too.

I don't speak Spanish, so here's what google says:
Phew! How hard was it to find it!
"The Seven Deadly Sins Origins" is a game that appeared as a sequel to 'Grand Cross'. It will be open world, you can climb walls or dive to find treasure chests etc. It is programmed for PC, mobile and consoles. There is no date.

Growing up, I really did not care for the Buu saga. It felt like a big joke and GT really didn’t do much for me either. I thought I was just done with Dragon Ball at that point. It wasn’t until Dragon Ball FighterZ that I got really back into Dragon Ball together with Super. I’d love to watch/rewatch all of Dragon Ball/Z/GT/Super, but uh it’s a lot. One day!

Weird rant but I just can’t comprehend how porting Outrun was not literally the first thing sega did with the Sega CD

like they really made an add-on that’s primary features were scaling and audio, and didn’t port their super scaler arcade games with banging soundtracks.

Buu Saga > Cell Saga

BUSTED with FACTS and LOGIC.

I was honestly wondering if the lack of Super Mario RPG on Switch was similar to the lack of Earthbound and that both games might have remakes in the works.

Nintendo Clay Generations

Featuring remakes of classics remade with clay graphics

Wave 1:
Earthbound
Super Mario RPG
Eternal Darkness

You're forgetting that Nintendo paid 80 billion dollars for the exclusive rights to Clay Fighters from the SNES in the biggest video game deal in history.

The alternative explanation for the lack of Mario RPG on NSO goes something like this:

Square-Enix: pls Mr Nintendo we would like to launch upressed Super Mario RPG on eShop for £17.99

Nintendo: no lol we r doing subscription now please understand

Square-Enix: y tho

Nintendo: €£¥$

Square-Enix: but we also want €£¥$

Nintendo: no. Can u let us release it on nso lol

Square-Enix: ... no I am taking Super Mario RPG and going home and not playing out any more

I personally think the remake speculation re Earthbound and Super Mario RPG doesn't really add up but it's weird (read: annoying) that there's several games just waiting to be brought over to NSO. I don't understand why Earthbound Beginnings or Mysterious Murasame Castle aren't available either even though they were released on Wii U and 3DS respectively. The inconsistency is just silly.

edit: Oh and who could forget Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon.

Yeah, it is very strange. Maybe Nintendo genuinely are just hanging onto them for an eventual release, but it's difficult to understand why they aren't available. I'd immediately play Earthbound on Switch if it were there.

I'm trying not to be emotional about this, basing my thought process purely on facts and logic and I've come to the conclusion that Nintendo hates its users and does things just out of spite.

I would love it if Square took another go at Super Mario RPG. It would really be an event.

I never really understood this when tons of key people that worked on SMRPG haven't been at Square Enix in ages. This would feel like they'd just be propping up an empty husk for nostalgia's sake instead of making something original.

If there is some money reason why they can’t just put Mother/Earthbound and Super Mario RPG into NSO they should just put them up for sale.

All NSO games should also be up for sale and they should honor your Wii/Wii U/3DS legacy purchases.

😭
so fucking shitty of nintendo to not save their long time partners like cing or alphadream from bankruptcy. for them it would have been a drop in the bucket.

They're just waiting for everyone to end up at Arzest so they can buy them in one fell swoop :devilish:

I probably should have said "a Super Mario RPG". I think they could have a great, fresh and new, take on the formula.

Now that we're talking about Super Mario RPGs, I'm making steady but slow progress on Super Mario 64 and, unless TTYD really changes things up with experience and whatnot, I find it hard to believe that people want to go back to the "classic" formula in terms of EXP because, well, it's not that different to what we now have. Progression isn't that amazing, and you cannot really grind and be overleveled. You basically have the tools to deal with every encounter at every point, just like in TOK.

It's a decent game, though. I like it a lot and it has a lot of charm.

Good morning! I'm workin EARLY so here I am. What's up!!!!

Finally ordered a Zelda Game & Watch this week because I had surplus money; arrived today but was shipped in a plastic bag type envelope and so the box for the console is half crumpled.

Gonna do me some old fashioned complaining.

they don’t have to negotiate with square

Super Mario RPG is also work-for-hire

Nintendo owns it

they have not put it on NSO because… they chose not to. yet. tbd.

wow jk I was super wrong about that

square co-owns it and owns all original characters from it, sorry!

like does everyone think if I build a company a website, they have to negotiate with me to reuse graphics from it, take copy, or bundle it up and move it somewhere else?

game studios are hired by Nintendo to create games when Nintendo owns the IP

it only gets messy when music or assets are licensed for shit, or when IP ownership is unclear or mixed, or when say Universal Studios commissioned the game as a movie tie-in for an IP they got movie (and tangentially game) rights to

no one is remastering Super Mario RPG. Nintendo just hasn’t released it. It’s as simple as that.

Square owns all of the original characters and co-owns the game itself.

I can't imagine there being an issue with the characters, as Square doesn't use them. It might just be a money issue. Are there any Square games on NSO?

Nintendo and Square Enix apparently share a copyright on Super Mario RPG which might things a bit more complicated but not impossible, seeing as they've rereleased it several times on other hardware

I wish. My cakes look great and taste great but lately they've all been a bit stodgy, I'm not sure why they haven't been puffing up much. No matter the recipe I'm using.
Do you have an oven thermometer? That was the key for my wife’s baking because the residential ovens aren’t that great at getting an accurate temperature. She now has a list of temps to set the oven to depending on what she’s doing and sometimes they are off quite a bit from what’s is actually set.

picking up failed companies is bad business. why would you want to take on their liabilities? just pick the carcass after they die. some of Alpha Dream went to Nintendo anyway.

I didn't know @Raccoon started in video games

As Dardan and N75 are saying, Super Mario RPG is slightly more complex because there is a co-ownership element.

Yeah I might have to start using that.

Also I've been using all purpose flour instead of cake flour, that might be an issue.

aha! I am deeply wrong and didn’t double check before making a bold statement

sorry all, and thank you for correcting me

Square does co-own it and I shouldn’t post until I’ve had morning coffee

Raccoon get in here. Say somethimg based
you shouldn't let other people's preferences make you doubt your own

it's the source of 90% of forum fights and is very cringe

feel free to laugh at people who are wrong, or better still, accept that they just feel differently than you

(laughing at people who feel differently from you is cool, too)
Damn, drop of a hat and bestows these nuggets of wisdom upon us.

When Monolith West finally releases their first game we need some Raccoonisms to pop up during the loading screens.
