StarTopic Nintendo Direct Speculation |ST8| Press Your (Nintendo Direct) Luck!

Why not? N64 and GameCube each got 3. Wii and Wii U I think got two? Switch only got one original and the other is a compilation of games that are also available via NSO XP. A second original title for Switch would sell and it’d be available for Switch 2 at launch.
Gamecube actually had 4, from MP4 to MP7
edit: And Wii U only had MP10

With Crafted World being 5 years old and the next Yoshi likely being quite a few years away, now is the time to bring Woolly World back as a late gen Switch port with the content from 3DS

A 2D Zelda where you play as Zelda would be so cool.

I would hope that they'd make Zelda distinct in how she'd approach combat and puzzle solving though. Making her essentially a Link re-skin would be a shame.

Good news! This already exists, and I'm not talking about the CD-i games.
Bad news: people don't talk about it enough.

I’m in a big zelda mood so I will take anything. A small 3d zelda game starring zelda would be the coolest thing But I’m open for a 2d Zelda game too.
I still don’t think it’s going to be this year, a brand new zelda game for the first year of the next switch males too much sense

Thank you for continuing to preach the good word.

Cadence of Hyrule is a great time. People can turn off the rhythm timing if that is an issue for them. The game is good for when you want to scratch that Zelda itch without investing in a full playthrough of a normal Zelda game. You can beat it in a few hours. Plus with a randomized map and different characters to play as, it has a ton of replay value. Plus, the OST is stellar

I don't think it will be June 19th because that's a federal holiday in the United States (Juneteenth). Maybe June 20th.

Been saying this since late 2022, I could see it being an early 2025 launch tbh, one last lowest common denominator drop before the launch

I don't think absence of GameCube/3DS/Wii U/Wii remasters, in June, will mean anything to those games coming to Switch.

I believe that the first 2-3 years of Switch 2 will see ALL remasters coming to "the Switch Family" (on Switch cartridges) and running 30fps on Switch and 60fps on Switch 2.

This

The Switch isn’t gonna be like the Wii U or frankly any other system before it

It won’t get the really good stuff but it will definitely have cool remasters for years to come

I've just booked a beautiful cabin, by a lake, in the middle of nowhere, for a week in June. Just me & my girlfriend, turn our phones off, get away from it all.

And now after paying I've realised I might miss a Nintendo Direct and had a pang of regret for booking it. It's the stupidest feeling I've ever had, and I once convinced myself I might be straight. GET OVER YOURSELF GIRL. IT'S A SERIES OF ADVERTS, GO HAVE A GORGEOUS TIME IN A BEAUTIFUL PLACE WITH THE WOMAN YOU LOVE.

Next Round Nintendo Direct Predictions! Like many others, this isn't something super special or unique, but hopefully there will be some accuracy to it.

June - Luigi's Mansion 2 & Metroid Prime 2 & 3 Shadowdrop
July - Nintendo World Championship
August - Metroid Prime 2 & 3 Physical Release
September - Fire Emblem Genealogy Remake
October - Legend of Zelda something or other, be it the new Zelda-focused game Papa Genos is hinting at or the WW/TP remasters Nintendo is sitting on.
November - Metroid Prime 4
December - Small JRPG Remake/Remaster/Revival - I'm thinking Chrono Trigger, Golden Sun, or Custom Robo.

For minor games I'm personally interested in:
Moonstone Island - Due its participation in the Wholesome Direct on June 8, I think it'll Shadowdrop then and not during the Nintendo Direct. I can still see it appearing in the Nintendo Direct, depending on the date of said Direct, but it'll either be an "available now!" or "coming June 8th" thing.

Sun Haven - Brazil mentioned the likelihood of an Indie Direct in August, so I think this game will make an appearance there. Sun Haven just got its final big patch in April, so it's full speed ahead on a Switch port now. No idea for a release date, but I'd say maybe September/October?

Symphony of War - Indie Direct in August announcement for an October/November release date. The original timeframe was for a late-2024 release, and October/November hits that slot perfectly.

Dark Deity 2 - November/December at the earliest IMO.

Funny thing is this lineup would be pretty great for me, since I'm fortunate to have never played LM2, MP2 or 3, FE4, or even fully finish Twilight Princess because my GC disc corrupted right after the Bridge of Eldin sequence lol

With the news of Switch 2 and the June direct confirming its only going to be focused on Switch games for the second half of this year, I decided to try and predict what I think Nintendo's software line-up is going to look like for the final year of the Switch. If anyone is looking for something to listen to while they work or play games, here is the video:

Some of these could also come out after Switch 2 (or be cross-platform) but I think most won't be.

I searched but couldn't find anyone starting the conspiracy theory that Atlus moved SMTV: Vengeance from June 21 to June 14 because Nintendo told them they have a Direct on the 19th. So now I guess I have to start it.

Why would they need to do that? Like...what's the incentive for either party?

If anything you would think they would maybe want to be included in an "out right now" reel of sorts.

I'm unsure if this would be more or less funny than Atlus moving the date due to Elden Rings DLC release.

Maybe they don't wanna be overshadowed by whatever's gonna be shown in that Direct?
