Alright: Help me decide what to play next.

I can finally give Persona 5 a go. The release calendar looks fairly sparse going forward, so it might be a good time for me to finally try it. The downside: with the time I have for games that probably means it’s all I will be able to play for 3 months plus.

Or I can get something like Splatoon 3, which would leave me time to dabble in another couple of games alongside it. I liked Splatoon 2 but never really devoted all that much time to it because I just had other stuff to play instead. Splatoon 3 seems easier than Persona to bounce on and off of so if Nintendo drops
something cool in April or whatever I can play it.

Have you played TMS #FE? I like the game and it is a good Saturday morning cartoon version of SMT and Persona.

Ugh fell asleep in my recliner last night. Actually slept all night so it’s fine tho does give me a slightly stiff neck. Excluding the neck thing I actually sleep better in it half the time

Seconding this. Great game, doesn’t overstay its welcome

(Funny enough P5R is on my to play list too. Tho I’m trying to finish FFIX or Ryza first)

See, I was able to juggle both Splatoon 3 and Persona 5 Royal at the same time by limiting my playtime in the former to two catalogue levels and in the latter to two hours of playtime each day.

Persona 4:
Actually slept all night
I don't know why that's where my head went

Bayonetta Origins is close to the £20 mark in the UK

chuckles

I'm in danger
I'll say this:

I bought Bayonetta 3 secondhand for around $30 and resold it pretty soon after I was done.

I pre-ordered BayOrigins for full price and am keeping it as part of my physical collection.

do it

Got it going. Can always just add to the timer if I’m worried

Well if I’m not super exhausted I’ll just wake up in a hour or two when that happens. When I’m doing a puzzle game or adventure novel on my switch on a chair or couch sometimes I just fall asleep in the middle of it

ff1 (pixel remaster) is a nice, finish in a day kinda game

edit: shoutout to the insiders for leaking the backlog

How do I git gud at True Arena in Kirby: Planet Robobot? Even with the Hammer Ability, the furthest I've ever gotten is Round 10.

Finished the Iki Island DLC for Ghost of Tshushima. With wrapping up FF VII Remake Intermission the other week, I'm making progress though my backlogs of DLCs. Maybe I should try to bang out the Fire Emblem Engage campaign DLC before Rebirth comes out.

What did you think of it? I've always wanted to play it but by the time it came out, it had been so long I felt like I'd need to replay the base game again 😌 and that requires time lol

Tokyo Mirage Sessions is a good game.

I know it’s not what people expected, but I really like the more lighthearted Megaten vibes it has instead of Tokyo is dead again as its main attraction.

And I say this as someone who really likes Shin Megami Tensei.

I hadn't played GoT since it first came out in 2020. It did take me a while to relearn the mechanics and because the DLC uses your existing save file, it doesn't reteach you the mechanics. But after a bit, I got into the flow of things.

I was good. I'd probably rate it a 7/10 compared to 8/10 I'd give the original GoT. It took me about 10 hours to beat while exploring the entire island. I did most of the sidequests minus the archery challenges. You get more insight into Jin's backstory although I didn't enjoy these visions, let's call them, that interrupted the gameplay flow. Iki Island is beautiful and maybe the best looking region of the game. It's basically more GoT. If you liked that, you'll likely enjoy Iki Island.

Nice, thanks for the indepth response! It sounds like I'm in much the same position you were lol it's mainly jumping back in having totally forgot the intricacies of the combat system that's scaring me haha but that sounds really good, ten hours is nice and meaty. I should just do it haha maybe replay the first few hours to get a feel for it again or something

I'm liking Spotify less and less but I have no real viable alternative, this sucks
This gives me an opening to show off how I make Apple Music through the Marvis Pro app work for me. I have my music listening down to a science.

marvislayout1.jpg

First we have my loved albums, listed by listened to least recently to most recently, then my loved albums shuffled. If an album appears in both when I first load up the app, I will usually listen to that album for sure, otherwise I'll pick one of the six from the top row.
Next is my last 6 played songs.

marvislayout2.jpg

Then I have my playlists, shuffled, and the next section is where Marvis Pro really shines. The first rectangle is every song I have listened to at least 5 times, but not within the last 69 (nice) days. It automatically populates this list as time passes, and when I listen to a song on the list, it gets removed.
The second rectangle is every song from three playlists I have created, the third rectangle is the Apple Music discovery station, and the fourth rectangle is every song from one of my loved albums.

Finally, I keep a row of my most listened to artists, shuffled, and then two rows of every album in my library that isn't loved.

2 of my biggest problems are discovering new music and having my local files integrated well. Never heard of Marvis Pro before this, seems like it's only on Apple?

It is indeed. There's a whole subreddit dedicated to it, plus one of the members there made a whole 7+ part YouTube series on how he uses it to discover new music, curate playlists, integrate his files, etc.

That rules using it out for me unfortunately. But it was interesting to read about your listening strategy, thanks for sharing that.

Spotify would be cool if it
1) Didn't randomly delete albums/decide it does need wifi after all for some albums I've downloaded
2) Integrated my local files as albums and gave me the option to choose what shows up, as opposed to one big playlist
3) Stopped acting that songs like Smoke On the Water - 2024 Mix were new releases and overall heavily improved ease of discovering new music and stopped advertising albums I already have in my library to me

Hi friends,

Has Sonic Origins for Switch been fixed in any capacity, big issues I have are with the soft pixel filtering and the music being 'unremastered' compared to the mobile versions.

Thanks

I liked the one I saw that was just a corner store that set up shop in this little nook.
A nooks cranny, if you will.
There was another one I saw today where someone photoshopped a giant Wii into a rectangular space that was pretty silly. People are having fun with these haha.

Finally snagged Kirby and the Forgotten Land because it’s $39.99 on Amazon. I see this as an absolute win with no downside whatsoever.

I’ve been waiting a while for a good sale. Unfortunately, I will not be able to claim any My Nintendo Gold Points since it’s past a year from release.

I took a nice fami break these last four days. Hung out with friends and family. Beat god of war ragnarok and found new online games to play in destiny, crash team rumble and helldivers (when the game lets me)

I’m fully dedicated to my backlog this year wish me luck

yo turns out Shudder's got quite a few movies I've been wanting to watch for years. Now I'm seriously interested in signing up

I remember browsing the Amazon Shudder channel a few years ago and wasn't impressed. didn't realize the catalogs weren't the same

You sound like you're already leaning towards Splatoon 3, but I will say once you get into the gameplay loop of Persona it goes faster than you'd think. 5R is one of my favorite games ever but Persona games require me to basically focus all my gaming time on them, I can't multitask or I'll lose track.

Glad I got it when it was on sale for like $15. Now has gone up to $40. Will play it sometime (just need to play three houses sometime…)
It’s a great complementary game to Three Houses that you should play right after. I took the Black Eagles route in FE3H right after Christmas (second playthrough) and then followed it up with the Black Eagles route in FEW3H… it was a fantastic way to do it! It gives you an even deeper appreciation of the characters in your House (and beyond)

When it released I was still in my “Fire Emblem cringe” phase, so it wasn’t on my radar. Over the last year I’ve played and loved four FE titles, so it was finally time to try Three Hopes!

I am not disappointed!
It’s supposed to target 60 fps but can’t quite reach there, my plan with the switch 2 if it has full backwards compatibility is to try that game out again and see if it can hit 60 fps,

Yeah. I like this idea of the warriors games being prequels/sequels to other Nintendo games. Hyrule Warriors is great fan service so that works, but FE Warriors was a dud. The continuation and theming from other games is a good way to go.

Thanks. Persona actually appeals to me more but I’m worried about how long it is. I get in about an hour of gaming a day. 100 hours is over 3 months, which is intimidating to say the least. But this might be the perfect year for it…

To be frank, if you're doing the complete Royal story, it's gonna take you more like 130 hours lol
