Yeah that’s pretty much it exactly. It’s still a great game, but for me it’s a peg below LTTP, Minish Cap, and the Oracles for that reason.Borrows far too heavily from ALttP, and getting every item at the beginning hinders meaningful progression and the difficultly curve. It was a good first attempt at opening up Zelda again prior to BotW, but was a bit flawed in the execution. Plus it's kinda ugly.
I actually had it at the bottom of A tier at one point but I dropped it down to give every tier 3 games (if we're counting the Oracles together).
Not sure if YouTube's algorithm has improved a lot but I haven't got recommend anything about the game in the last month, only stuff I deliberately look for does. It also helps that I'm not that excited about Tears, honestly.
I started clicking "Not Interested" on any Zelda related recommendation a week before the leaks started just to make sure I wouldn't get recommended any spoilers. Seems to have worked well so far.Not sure if YouTube's algorithm has improved a lot but I haven't got recommend anything about the game in the last month, only stuff I deliberately look for does. I literally watched about 20 videos on totk last week. Haven't seen really anything on my recommended list about it.Not sure if YouTube's algorithm has improved a lot but I haven't got recommend anything about the game in the last month, only stuff I deliberately look for does. inject it into my veins already
How is A Link Between Worlds flawed in any way? Not having that! It's top down Zelda at its finest.
Agreed! He better live to be 150 years old, I need at least 20 more games out of him. If I was interviewing him, I would have cut the interview short and said, “Ok I think we have enough, we will skip the rest,“now get back to work immediately.According to Ask The Developer, Aonuma was promoted to Senior Officer. It’s hard… I was just watching Zeltiks’ hour long BotW recap he posted 3 days ago and nodding off to sleep about 2 hours ago, and thinking I might be able to finally get some sleep. Got into bed, and guess what I’m wide freakin awake thinking about TotK again!Morning all. Another day closer. We can make it!
If the criteria for S tier includes ‘genre defining’ and ‘industry shaking’, then the original Legend of Zelda surely hits those two. As you wouldn’t have the rest of the series without it, and it was absolutely one of the more notable NES games. I get that it might not be someone’s favourite these days (it’s not in my top five Zeldas), but in terms of influence it’s absolutely huge.Tier lists are fun. Here's mine:
S Tier - Genre-defining, industry-shaking masterpieces
Ocarina of Time*
Breath of the Wild
A Link to the Past**
A Tier - Excellent implementations of an established formula
Link's Awakening***
Twilight Princess
Oracle of Ages
Oracle of Seasons
B Tier - Bold and innovative, but with key flaws or controversial design choices
Majora's Mask
The Wind Waker
A Link Between Worlds
C Tier - Solid but unspectacular
The Legend of Zelda**
Skyward Sword
The Minish Cap
D Tier - Decent but lacking
Phantom Hourglass
Spirit Tracks
Four Swords Adventures
F Tier - This ain't it
The Adventure of Link**
Tri Force Heroes
Four Swords
* The greatest game of all time.
** I didn't play these games at the time of their release, making it difficult to properly assess them.
*** My personal favorite.
I'm expecting TotK to slide into A tier. I just don't see it being innovative enough to make S.
Part 3 is coming out tomorrow (probably also with part 4).Part 2 is already out too.

Specialized games retailer? I ordered with wog.chDamn, a retailer in Switzerland messed up and is sending copies out early. Will get mine later today. Don't know how to feel about this tbh. Feels like cheating.

Tell them it's 12th May 2023 in New Zealand already, and they can sell the game. Show them your New Zealand SwitchMaybe on thursday I will go to the store where I preordered right before closing time, fall on my knees and beg them to hand out my copy of TotK, stating that the game already leaked anyway.
Maybe they will see a grown man cry over a videogame, if they don't give it to me.
Just maybe.
Me neither, just an error message. Maybe it's location blocked for some reason? Why can't I open the Interview sites?
They were deleted, must've been posted early. Why can't I open the Interview sites?

Hey Nintendo, i don't wanna see new ads or yet another "X days to go" tweet.
I wanna see the freaking game in my hands already...

Also, there are no spoilers, I just put into spoilers to save you guys from scrolling too much.
I’m not much of a prognosticator, but I am absolutely astounded by TOTK. And I think BOTW is the finest game I’ve ever played. I suspect I won’t be alone in that assessment.
I played the game for almost 80 hours by now and I can say without fear that it's a better game than Breath of the Wild. It's what Mario Galaxy 2 was to 1. My Guess is 97-98.
Breath of the Wild was very good, Tears of the Kingdom is superb. They "fixed" every single issue i had with BOTW, seriously, what a fantastic experience. The game's a 10 out of 10 to me. Edit: just to make it clear, yes, I have played the game to completion.
I’ll echo these sentiments, I don’t know how the reviews will go down but this has replaced BOTW in my Top 3, the game is an absolute marvel
And the best one that has got me really hyped
The game is about exploring and discovery, through and through. If you ask me that is where they expanded even more. Fuse and ultrahand are merely tools. It has the BotW exploring and experimental gameplay^10. But I can see why they have these new tools so that the gameplay and puzzle solving are fresh and sets the game apart from BotW. If you think you’re gonna be forced to ultrahanding things and making vehicles often you’re wrong. If you think you’re gonna be crafting and fusing often you’re also wrong. Also I wouldn’t call any of it crafting except the cooking part. If you think the map design is similar or stale you’re also wrong. Having spent over 500 hours in BotW and got all 900 seeds I still can’t make out lots of areas because they’ve dug deep and redesigned a lot of it… It’s a Zelda game in every sense of the word and harks back to “miyamoto and exploring caves” quite significantly. The opening area is equivalent to pure zen and relaxation, honestly it’s like therapy. That Nintendo magic is in full force. Basically if you loved BotW TotK is pure bliss again. It’s a massive world to get lost into and explore in so many ways. Reviews are gonna be loaded with 10s across the board. At this point I don’t think any game has a chance of GotY this year, even if you count the last decade I don’t think anything is gonna stand up from a gameplay and systems level.
