I woke up half an hour ago to a very loud knock at the door. Given the fact that neither of my boyfriends woke up, my dog didn't react, and there was no repeat knock, it may have in fact been the end of a dream.

But I'm fucking terrified and can't get back to sleep.

I've had that dream before, I even saw my door shaking from how hard it was being knocked.

I was alone though and have since convinced myself it actually happened and wasn't a dream but it was probably a dream.

I've definitely had a similar dream before, so I'm leaning towards that.

And if it wasn't a dream, I need to have a serious talk with my dog about his nonchalance towards a loud knock at a quarter to 3am.

No, it was the official pro controller listing. It was a third party seller, but it was on the main Amazon listing for maybe 5-10 minutes before it was fixed. I managed to get an order that is currently preparing to ship.

I don't remember most of my dreams either, but the ones I do are usually about places with extremely nice bathrooms for some reason.

I’m glad Chocobo GP is rolling into Season 4 soon. It’s getting tough to find matches which is a shame since the game is a lot of fun. I think this season thankfully won’t get its thunder completely stolen by Mario Kart again so that should help. (Season 1 hit near MKBCP Wave 1, while Season 3 was BCP Wave 2)

Bethesda Microsoft is totally using Skyrim Anniversary Edition to test the waters for $70 games on Switch and other platforms. Sony may have been the first ones to jump in the pool but I expect other companies will up their prices once it has been normalized.

Anyone still think Metroid Prime Remaster can come out on the anniversary? How long do you think Nintendo would want to announce before release?

I think it’s been pushed, tbh. If it was out in November for the anniversary, we’d have seen it by now.

I think that if those rumoured remasters are true, Nintendo wants to strategically release those in the build up to MP 4.
 
How about it strategically release with Drake in March / April 2023?

Nintendo, i'm an expert Strategy RPG player, so i am a strategy genius, this means you gotta do what i said.

My guess is that it’s been pushed to launch alongside new hardware sometime in Calendar 2023. If I remember correctly, one of the sources who spoke about it (might have been Nate?) said it was looking really good, so I‘d get it if they wanted to slap some DLSS juice into it and get it running at 4K for the launch of whatever the new unit is.
 
My current theory, that has almost zero evidence, is that Nintendo has internally delayed a lot of games because they’ve been so impressed with Nvidia’s DLSS tech that they’ve become hesitant to release any games that don’t take advantage of it. So games like Metroid Prime Remastered, Wind Waker/Twilight Princess, Pikmin 4, etc, were all somewhat ready but they decided “we gotta give ‘em the DLSS juice”
 
I just ordered the physical version of Sakuna - Rice and Ruin from Amazon.de for 20 bucks.

That feels like a good price. :D
But it's a third party seller. :(
But it's handled by Amazon. :D

I just hope it's a legit "new" game. I always have this fear for older / more niche games thet run out of their physical prints rather fast and i'm late for getting them.

My oldest friend and his wife got their first little one end of July. Mrs. and I gave them a nice congratulations card, but i also was part of a card + present setup from the friend circle (basically, we're 5 folks who know each other since elementary school) and the card, the one responsible for getting one from the group got was literally "We know what you did last winter!" ...

I admit, i laughed.

I’ve almost never had any issue with third party yet fulfilled by Amazon purchases for new games. Should be fine. Used games though can be tougher if it’s something like DS, but even then you get the protection of free returns due to the Amazon shipping.

Idk if Zelda remasters will have any advanced graphics, they seem like something that will just be ported from Wii U except for maybe bumping it to 60fps.
 
I feel like "Waiting for Switch Pro/Drake" has become the meme answer to explain why something hasn't been shown yet.

Where is Breath of the Wild 2? Waiting on Drake.
Where is the port of a 2013 Wii U game? Waiting on Drake.
When is dad going to return from buying cigarettes? He's coming home in 4K with Drake damn it!

I feel like bumping to 60fps is actually a pretty advanced graphics update, but also I don’t know how video games are made at all (other than DLSS is juice that you put into a game) so who am I to say lmao

Yeah but like, is it really a “meme answer” or is it “informed speculation”

like I get that “oh this high profile game is probably waiting for new hardware” has been a frequent refrain around here (and elsewhere) but also, I don’t feel people are always saying it as a meme/joke. I think if Nintendo is going to deliver us a new Switch with this fancy new tech, they’re going to want as much software as possible to show off JUST how good it looks, and frankly I think remasters of older games is a fantastic way to do that, because there’s a direct point of comparison. Like if you look at Wind Waker on Gamecube, and then again in HD on Wii U, and then a 4K and/or 60fps version on Switch? You put those three next to each other and people will instantly get it. And the instant getting thereof is marketing gold.

If I have a physical copy of Skyrim from back when it first launched on Switch, does that mean I can upgrade to Anniversary Edition? Or do I have to pay for the full game again?

I should really try Skyrim again sometime. But it’s so low priority compared to my switch backlog
 
I set an alarm for an hour-long nap yesterday evening and ended up getting 13 hours of sleep. I must have really needed it post-operation and with this script deadline coming up!

I think it's informed speculation that trails into meme territory. I certainly think Nintendo is holding back some things for the new hardware but not everything. For your TP and WW examples, why would need to hold onto to these to advertise the new hardware when Tears of the Kingdom is right there? Sure, they can show off all three at the same time on the new hardware but TotK would easily capture the majority of the attention and I don't think Nintendo would want to selling and promoting three Zelda games at the exact same time.

I think people are seeing that a like of expected announcements is an indication that the new Switch is coming but this has been going on for pretty much two years now. I recall people saying similar things when we had yet to see Xenoblade 3 and Bayonetta 3. Many were saying that Nintendo was holding these for the new Switch. Of course, that ended up being wrong. Those games will be out before any new hardware announcements. For cases like the Zelda ports and Metroid Prime Remaster, they might be withheld for the Drake but I think it's more likely that Nintendo just doesn't think it's the right time for those and their releases are not tied directly to the Drake. Something like TotK on the other hand, is more likely.

And to clarify, I do think a new hardware is coming in Spring of next year. So it's not like I'm arguing against there being a Drake announcement and release soon. I just think not everything Nintendo is doing is tied directly to the release of the new hardware.
