Idk about December since Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is releasing in Japan on December 2nd and that is Nintendo published (Ubisoft publishes everywhere else) but I guess they could have 2 Nintendo published games that month.I hope Advanced Wars is the December title. And that it'd polished as heck!
Yes!! I know a lot of folks on here are probably looking forward to 3D Mario, but we haven't had a real burst in 2D Mario creativity in a while. I felt like this would be one that comes out with the eventual movie and that the Odyssey follow up is saved for Switch 2. But now I'm not so sure a Switch 2 is happening before 2024.Random note but I really want a brand new 2D Mario soon.
I do not even need it to do anything super crazy. 2D Mario I am totally fine with being pretty simple. Good ol classic ol jumpin'.
I DO want some new themes. More unique and interesting themes for levels.
Start with a simple Grass World. Then you get to a world themed after New Donk City, where you jump on scyscrapers and cars and etc. Then maybe a Dinosaur World. Hell, do a 2D Galaxy-like world with small planetoids and whacky gravity. Have a entire world take place inside a giant whale, why not?!
Point is, I want a new 2D Mario.
I am very very excited for the next 3D Mario as well, but yes, while we got NSMBUD and MM2, it has been forever since a 'brand new' one, and my old brain craves new Mary Oh XDYes!! Very weeb. We even got a Neptunia title this year and everyone knows that's the ultimate weeb series. Finally noticing that we’re going to have a redux of XC vs. Nier vs. Persona on our hands in about 6 weeks which leaves me with one very important question:
On a scale of weeb to weeb how does Switch’s 2022 rank?
My to play pile would take too much to post. Currently juggling XBC3, FEWTH and TGAA with Little Noah as a pallet cleanser. Hoping to actually get in some game time this afternoonCurrently playing:
- Mass Effect 3
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3
- Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
To-play pile:
- Splatoon 3
- Pikmin 3 DX
Preorders:
- Nier Automata
- Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
- Bayonetta 3
Lotta 3s going on.
Advance wars isn’t releasing in Japan so no issue thereIdk about December since Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is releasing in Japan on December 2nd and that is Nintendo published (Ubisoft publishes everywhere else) but I guess they could have 2 Nintendo published games that month.
True! Completely forgot about that.Advance wars isn’t releasing in Japan so no issue there
Leeewd!!Top.
He’s Donald Ducking it. Vest, hat, no pants.
They had a fire emblem game for their anniversary, so I really doubt there will be no metroid prime related stuff for November - maybe the whole metroid prime remaster thing is much smaller than what we are expecting and it'll be only a shadow drop timed release
It's basically a constant in the universe.
if you need someone to talk to, feel free to DM me. I really wish you strength and peace of mind in these difficult times.* Hidden text: cannot be quoted. *
Jesus, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how rough that would be for you or your family. Definitely stay close with her and your other loved ones and close friends for support* Hidden text: cannot be quoted. *
My list ignores the category on my Switch called "Pile of Shame", as well as anything on my other consoles because yes, that would take too long.My to play pile would take too much to post. On paper: absolutely. If Nier Automata runs on Switch then Replicant should be very doable no?
Your first Monkey Island game
Thankfully probably won’t be much of a rehashing since the ports won’t be up for awards or anything, just a bit here and there. Finally noticing that we’re going to have a redux of XC vs. Nier vs. Persona on our hands in about 6 weeks which leaves me with one very important question:

I'd expect so, as playing through both back-to-back it's noticable that Replicant is still set up like an older game. The areas are segmented rather than seamless like Automata, and they aren't nearly as detailed and densely packed with assets as Automata's are. Those two factors alone should make it easier for Switch to handle than Automata, without knowing anything about the underlying programming. If Nier Automata runs on Switch then Replicant should be very doable no?
Back in the USA!Safe travels, I use to travel for work for over 10 years. I’m glad I finally got a stable job 15 min from home. Life changing.
If Monkey Island bombs I'll never forgive you
Why is this? It seems like an odd move in an age where no game is truly exclusive to one region/language or another.Advance wars isn’t releasing in Japan so no issue there
my condolencesBack in the USA!
Have I ever told you that Americans are fucking cold compared to people in other countries?my condolences
Have you ever been to Germany?Have I ever told you that Americans are fucking cold compared to people in other countries?
Advance was the death of Nintendo war’s popularity in Japan as a seriesWhy is this? It seems like an odd move in an age where no game is truly exclusive to one region/language or another.
It’s amazing how this series went from Japan only to not releasing in Japan. Games must have done poorly there. Days of Ruin never released until it was a club Nintendo 3DS download reward. This new one has had zero info on a Japan release, but assumed it would get something over there. Why is this? It seems like an odd move in an age where no game is truly exclusive to one region/language or another.
You haven't, but I am aware. A friend of mine came to visit years ago and the staff at the airport literally had her in tears from the way they were talking to her. Another friend came out a couple years later and was lost in the LA airport and was getting no help from anyone, just circling the terminal asking for help and being dismissed by everyone.Have I ever told you that Americans are fucking cold compared to people in other countries?
Are you saying that Germans are just as cold?Have you ever been to Germany?
Well, I study communications and sociology. I'm majoring in Communications, in fact. You haven't, but I am aware. American people were already shit to them before they even left the fuckin airport.
Not necessarily; it's simply something people are said to be saying about us Germans, that we're kind of reserved, pragmatic and not super open or proactively friendly towards strangers. Which might as well be as much of an unfounded generalisation as many other things people keep saying about, well, other people and groups of people. Are you saying that Germans are just as cold?
My experience with German folks is the opposite, though I have heard the same thing about Germans and other people more up north in the continent. Not necessarily; it's simply something people are said to be saying about us Germans, that we're kind of reserved, pragmatic and not super open or proactively friendly towards strangers. I was merely interested in hearing/reading about your potential experience with folks over here in Germany, haha.
I played a bit on Xbox and other than the resolution, the game didn't look that demanding.I'd expect so, as playing through both back-to-back it's noticable that Replicant is still set up like an older game. Plus (not to open a can of worms) but Yoko Taro pointed out the game started as a simple up-res remaster but then he wanted to improve some models and backgrounds so it ended up a bit more involved, but still not a "remake." So, depending on how they went about it, it's still a PS3 game underneath to some extent. Which the Switch should be able to run just fine.
My experience in Germany was very positive, but I was in a touristy city (Cologne/Köln). Most Germans speak excellent English and appreciated me speaking enough German to tell them what my name was, where I was from, and how bad my German is and do you speak English? Not necessarily; it's simply something people are said to be saying about us Germans, that we're kind of reserved, pragmatic and not super open or proactively friendly towards strangers. The latter part I think is true - many Americans I've met have their routines, interests, and lives, and stick to it. They were baffled by the British idea of the post-work pint, which is just an excuse to socialise together. My experience with German folks is the opposite, though I have heard the same thing about Germans and other people more up north in the continent.
For example: comparatively, I would say Germans are more sociable. But that's not saying much. My Finnish friend was saying the same thing. Comparatively, Finns are more sociable compared to Americans but it wasn't saying much.
And I will say yes, this bothers me. The city I'm in is very nice compared to other major cities in this state, but even then, large parts of it simply don't feel engineered for people; let alone engineered for someone who is dealing with a partial disability like myself. Luckily my employer gives me free public transport. One thing he noted was the fucking lawns.
Everywhere in America is filled with suburbs and every suburb has lawns everywhere.
Even my Chinese friend was remarking on how you have to drive everywhere to get there.
Everything is so... spread out and alienating.
My Japanese friend couldn't understand why we were telling her almost everyone has a car in America, like to the point where there'll be three or four cars parked in front of a family's house, she was like "Why not just walk? That sounds so excessive??" until she visited here and everything was at least a mile away from the house and she was blown away by the sprawl.Everywhere in America is filled with suburbs and every suburb has lawns everywhere.

I technically live in the county, and they won’t even build side walks to all the schools. The kids that walk are literally on the outside median a few inches from the ditch in some parts. At least now, new development has to add those, but some weird decisions were made (I assume in the name of saving money). My Japanese friend couldn't understand why we were telling her almost everyone has a car in America, like to the point where there'll be three or four cars parked in front of a family's house, she was like "Why not just walk? And I love driving! I'm a serious car but. But the fact that it's a necessity for everyone due to the sprawl is just.. unfortunate.
Really ? I wouldn’t describe Americans as cold, but I’d say “falsely nice”, maybe? Sometimes people talk to you in a very nice way, asking you questions about your life and such, and you’d meet them the day after and they wouldn’t recognize you. But I also had some people really go out of their way in the US to help me, while in Europe if you have, like, a flat tire you’re shit outta luck.Have I ever told you that Americans are fucking cold compared to people in other countries?
Yeah people in my town are actually hostile towards any sort of development that helps or promotes walking, cycling, or public transit. I hear complaints that "the only people who use those things are people with DUIs or the poor or homeless and they made the choices that led to those needs so we shouldn't encourage those sorts of things."I technically live in the county, and they won’t even build side walks to all the schools.
