Hardware-focused Mini?

Mm. I like the sound of that. Like crisp water droplets embracing the water surface, like the smell of sweet nectar in the late spring bloom..

Mm.

Imagine if we’re doomposting all weekend only to get a General w Treehouse announced on Monday lolllll

Nintendo doing August Direct instead of September one just to fuck with us. Remember how no one was expecting Februrary 2021 Direct and it just happened? Yes, this would be that moment.

So

Direct is likely on the 28th. If we don't get an announcement on Monday, it's probably safe to assume it will be a shadow dropped mini or partner direct.

On the other, I don’t think that’s all Nintendo has for the holidays at all. We have Mario + Rabbids and Bayonetta still needing second showcases and dates. We have MPHD to be revealed. Now, maybe my expectations are low, but… there’s your opener, middle and closer for a general direct right there?Like those are all things coming in 2022. That need to be shown soon. So why go the route of the mini? A general is being handed to them on a silver platter. And that’s without even going into 2023 like they usually do at E3 time, AND assuming they don’t have anything ELSE to announce for the remainder of the year.

Mario + Rabbids as per Nate might not make 2022. It's possible that it'll be a first half 2023 game, which could coincide with the Mario movie, so Nintendo and Ubisoft could want to wait until they reveal. And MPHD is just a rumor, one that's being ongoing in some form for what, 3 years now? It could come out this year, it could not.

And Nintendo doesn't have to announce their entire H2 in June either. I could see them doing something like
  • June Direct Mini with Bayonetta 3 release date as well as another casual game like 1-2 Switch
  • September Direct where they show off BotW2 along with WWHD and/or TPHD for November
  • Shadowdrop Advanced Wars sometime in December

Any Nintendo employees/ninjas that might be reading the thread, probably

Nintendo surpises us with a Youtube Upload called the Nintendo Roast.

Koizumi enters the stage:

"We are bringing the newest truth bombs.... (famous hand gesture) directly to you.
Fuck all ouf you you unsatisfied pieces of shit. Don't you have games to play??
What do you think? That the pandemic didn't make it harder to develope games?
You are all literally trash. the translator can't keep up with him but still tries his hardest....

Koizumi takes a deep breath and closes the show and ends it with

"I don't even give sh** anymore. Just piss off. We have enough money already. (does the iconic Switch sound)"

simultaneously everywhere around the world special forces are kicking in our doors and we are all transported to the handheld ghetto.

let's see if I can farm some yeahs during peak activity

yeah this post if the united states should nationalize and electrify its railways
There's been talk of finally expanding Amtrak to my city (our last passenger line shut down when Amtrak was founded, waaaay before I was born), but I'd trade those plans in a heartbeat for having a not-for-profit public agency operate an electrified high-speed network running from Seattle to San Diego to Atlanta to Boston, plus connecting Chicago to Dallas and D.C.. More would be better of course, but that'd be some start!

I've given up hope of ever catching up to Europe or eastern Asia's passenger rail networks in my lifetime, but if we could at least TRY before I'm in the ground I'd be happy.

I am looking forward to Amtrak coming to my city though; once it's here I plan to use it to take a vacation to D.C.. Here's hoping it doesn't take more than 5-10 years!

.... Oh yeah, this is the Direct thread. Uh. . . So how many places do ya'll think are after the decimal point in the odds of getting Nintendoji HD? Because that would be super hype for me, but I feel like literally no one else would care, lol. 00.001%, chance, maybe? I don't even need improved textures or models, just up the rendering resolution, move the bottom screen functions to a menu or side window, and translate it to English: c'mon Nintendo! Bundle it with Sakura Samurai HD and I'd even pay full price!

We've been overwhelmed with reassurance since mid-June. There's no reason to doubt anymore
AGED LIKE MILK SMH MY HEAD
I was planning on waiting until the direct was announced to make my set of predictions, but since Mini's are never announced ahead of time, I'll make my contingency predictions here if that's what ends up happening. If a full direct is announced, I'll scrap these and make a prediction for that. These aren't ordered, as there isn't really any sort of defined structure for a Mini.

  • Bayonetta 3 gameplay, release date in October
  • Splatoon 3 gameplay, direct in July
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass Wave 2, early July
  • Mario Strikers update, shadowdrop
  • Switch Sports update, shadowdrop
  • Everybody's 1-2-Switch reveal, August
  • Bunch of 3rd party stuff (Humankind, Arkham Collection, Persona, etc.)
  • Advance Wars new release date, probably just placed in a sizzle reel, August
  • Zelda HD remasters, September
Metroid Prime HD and Fire Emblem saved for the next general direct, probably September. Mario + Rabbids unveiled by Ubisoft later on.
Getting the Stinky Horse reveal with no Prime HD in sight would be my Joker origin story
Nate is just preparing us for his ritual human sacrifice and it begins with turning us insane and ends in blood!
This time, the sacrifice was actually the June 2022 General Direct

If we can’t even expect Bayonetta 3 release date, I don’t know what is Nintendo doing.
Maybe Nintendo thinks that with Xenoblade in late June and Splatoon 3 in early September, Switch owners are set for big games in the period between those months, and they will use the June Direct (or Mini Direct) to add some smaller (but still potentially interesting) releases to that window.

Nate updated and said Mario + Rabbids is coming this year.
