I'm in the opposite camp - I have a PS5, but have been on-and-off looking into getting a gaming laptop
 
I’m watching The Sandlot for the first time in probably 15 years with friends and uhhh… has it ever been confirmed if the writing for Timmy and Tommy in Animal Crossing are based on the Timmy and Tommy in this movie with how one repeats what the other said?

Edit: apparently I’m not the only one who noticed this but I’m like 2 years late 😂

Yeah so I wasn't expecting Obi Wan Kenothree to go quite that hard but hoo boy yeah that's some good television.

Sonic Unleashed gives me huge Splatoon 2 vibes with its level select hubs, and Mario Odyssey vibes with its stores in each city hub. Didn’t a lot of sonic team make their way to Nintendo? Hmmm

Perfect 1 vs 1 game....but it really doesn't work 2 vs 2.
Also, the game is too technical....gonna need a couple hours to get all the mechanics down.

The Tom Cruise movie binge continued tonight with Jerry Maguire. Great movie, really glad I finally sat down and watched it. One of Tom Cruise's strongest performances and Cuba Gooding Jr. is fantastic as well. Pretty baffling that Renee Zellweger wasn't nominated alongside her co-stars, but oh well.

Might hit Minority Report or Mission Impossible 2 tomorrow before the concert.
 
Mario Strikers and Mario Golf are two of my favorite series/games ever and Nintendo just went full on Metallica: St. Anger on me with both.

I am sad.
 
I know I'm late to the party, but Stranger Things Season 4 started off VERY strong. The way it weaves normal school life and drama into horror and back again is so well done. I'm liking the vibe of this season more than 3 already (only one episode in).

Side note: I like how the show has varied the time of year by season. There's been fall/halloween/winter, season 3 was all about summer, and now season 4 looks like spring break. Adds some nice variety, although since season 5 is supposed to be the last I do hope they'll go back to Halloween again.
 
Played the demo but didn’t do the tutorial. Big mistake. Not to keen on it, but my opinion might improve once I learn the mechanics.

Mario Tennis Ace's Kamek and Blooper fights in single player were legitimately hard, I think they ended up patching one of them?

I got my PS5 last November by signing up for Best Buy’s $200 Total Tech program. There’s a lot of perks included, and one of them was exclusive access to PS5 and XSX drops. I got my console easily, and then cancelled my subscription and got a full refund for the $200.

I don’t know if Best Buy is still doing exclusive drops, but it’s worth looking into.

The first Bravely Default is still my favorite game in the broader FF series since, idk, the 90s games.

It has the tone, the aesthetics, the jobs, the spells, and the creature design of FF I-V. Plus, it's the spiritual successor to FF: The 4 Heroes of Light on the DS.

If in an alternative reality FF had remained as conservative in its design following FFV as DQ has been historically, then Bravely Default would just be called FFVII.
 
Cancelled my preorder of Strikers after the online demo. Not that I thought it was bad, it’s just that it’s once again a peer-to-peer online, and since I only have a NAT D I can’t play any online game that doesn’t have dedicated servers. Quite a shame, but I’ll buy it when I’ll finally get the fibre.

It riffs heavily off of Final Fantasy V for its combat / job system.

ah ok, now I understand. Yeah for people who are really invested into online play theres a huge difference to „real“ servers, because with p2p you need to have very good connection and the other people as well. I think that’s one of the main reasons people are unsatisfied with NSO, because the online experience is actually the same across all of Nintendo’s titles and it’s equally lacking. Seems to be the case for Splatoon 3 as well

that’s also not why I was asking lol it seems that Party Sklar can't play those games at all. the online experience between Nintendo's stuff varies wildly, from games that are near flawless like Arms to stuff that's borderline unplayable like Smash.

Can't you just change your NAT type on the router?
