I wonder if Junichi Masuda will still compose the battle tracks now that he's been promoted to a supervisor role

I was attacked on Famiboards

The more I look at this, the more excited I get. Idk, the overall design just speaks to me. And initially I wasn't even looking forward to yet another Pokémon game, but here we are.

From yesterday:

I've got one song left (a big one) and I'm burning out. I don't know what the point of writing any more songs is, and even if I squeeze them in, all I get are lame ideas. I can hum the little one, but I don't have enough gas! I'm not going to let out a weak cry like, "I don't have enough gas!

Not sure if this is about SV, but I wouldn't be surprised as she's retweeted all the posts about it and she didn't work on Arceus at all. The music in today's trailer also sounded similar to her previous work.

I hope God Ichinose is composing for the game. His music in Legends was incredible, as it usually is.

Toby Fox is an incredible composer. His track for Sword and Shield is one of the best on the soundtrack.

Cannot wait to hear more in the new games.

Game freak are huge Undertale fans lol

I hope this song is more prominent, the last song was hidden away to some content that most people didn't even touch.

Nice.

The arrangement in the trailer sounded like Minako Adachi's work. She didn't work on Arceus and made a tweet yesterday saying that she has one "big" left to do, so it's probably for this game.

Full open world and 4 player co-op is cool, and I'm liking the legendaries. Looking forward to seeing the starters evolutions!

I kinda hope they fund a Toby Fox-led Mother 4. Nintendo's preference for contracting outside development as opposed to studio purchases would seem to be perfectly suited for this effort.

Ost sounds great
Covers are the best ever
Lechonk is GOAT
World design and coop seems interesting

Pretty optimistic

Dudes on Twitter going "Imma call my lawyer" because a NPC has the same hair cut and beard that's been sold to them as the mainstream modern hot male look for the past decade has been more annoying than tree discourse today.
Your post has made me realize I havent seen any tree posting on Twitter, I’m disappointed with Pokemon fans expected better from them :(

LeChonk will finally be a significant step closer to glorious all hog team.

All in all this is looking like a massive change into previous installments and after playing Arceus I am all for it. It'll be really big thing on how they will execute gyms and other linear stuff within the world, but just the fact that I can play together with my kids is superb change.

And it looks like the catching mechanisms are Arceus?

And those new mon are all looking good. Loving the electric mouse and the not so subtle past/future references.

It feels like catching Pokemon is both traditional and Arceus. There was just a weird stealth section that scream Arceus. So what if there are certain areas where you have to battle wild pokemon and other areas where you can sneak up and throw a ball? Seems a bit extra but I can see it happening. Maybe like open fields you can stealth catch but in the routes near towns you have to battle. I don't know lol

I'm curious about the sneaking too, they edited it so it's not clear what would happen

Could also be something like Earthbound, so the direction the player and the Pokémon are facing when the battle is triggered gives an advantage or disadvantage

Fixed that for you

Seamless battles was the best feature of PLA, full stop. People said it was the future of Pokémon. Running into Pokémon to battle them is a regression, and that sucks.
You have no idea what it's like to live with severe dyspraxia, which makes aiming in video games pretty much impossible, so having that in SV would make the game pretty much unplayable for me.

I hear you. And you’re right, I don’t know what that’s like. I’m sorry you have to deal with that. Have you found accessibility options in other games that have been able to help?

I largely avoid games that require you to aim. So I wouldn't know.

Reading your comments I have to agree that the lack of VA is baffling. Two steps forward, one step back with Pokémon.

Anyone here also thinks that Koraidon will be Fire/Dragon and Miraidon will be Dark/Dragon?
Dragon/Electric or Dragon/Steel Miraidon
Dragon/Fire or Dragon/Fighting Koraidon
That’s what I think it will end up being like

My money is on Rock/Dragon and Electric/Dragon.

Miraidon’s design has a little yellow but the electric type isn’t the most violet thing. Dragon/Steel could be a thing, following the fighter jet theme.

Kinda over Dragon legendaries, so I'm gonna go for something that I'll probably be completely wrong about: Electric/Steel and Rock/Fighting.

It's funny, I was watching the trailer in bed without the sound, and when they started showing the professors and rivals with big text boxes on the screen, I went, oh shit, did they add voice acting?
Nope.
