Koraidon has like 2-3 design elements too many, otherwise it'd look really cool. Prefer Miraidon for now but I might change my mind once I see it in-game.
I'm a bit worried that the game will be too focused on multiplayer. I don't have any friends, GF, let me be alone.
as long as they still roll their own engine, don't expect much from themThe technical implementation is really, really poor. Yes I know not final yes I know the scope of pokemon games etc. But if what Serebii likes to say is true and the games are just doing great in regards to budget, staff, and time, then I really don't have any answers as to why they look like this. The Switch is not that underpowered. The texture resolution and especially the shadow resolution looks below even arceus at times, and the depth of field effect is really low res as well. They don't always look this bad, but these shadows...
10 GB, so they're gonna have to use 16GB cards.

all we know is you're not locked down by story. so that implies that gyms can be taken in any orderStill no details on the game's structure, so I am going to hold back from being excited about how open-world this is for now. But I liked what I saw overall.
For people worried it won't have Arceus catching mechanics (a group in which I am included), wasn't there a part of the trailer that implied catching without battling will be an option? Or did I see things that weren't there?
God DAMNIT I want Scarlet for that cool ass legendary, but Violet has the hot daddy professor This is not how I thought Pride was gonna go
Because they’re flying mechsWhy do the legendaries have wheels on their chest?
I would use wings for that... but okay, I guess they're cool then ^^Because they’re flying mechs
Finally, the Xenoblade x Pokémon crossover I was expectingBecause they’re flying mechs
Holy shit, THANKS. Since I saw the trailer, I was like "he reminds me of someone" but couldn't remember whoSo outside of "Daddy", the other thing coming to mind when looking at the in-game model is the resemblance to Gerard Pique
we haven't seen battles completely, but they're pretty similar to Legends so farThe seamless transition to in and out of battle from PLA should be a no brainer for this, especially since it's open world yet here we are
PLA is not redudant after all
It’s actually super vague so we can’t say one way or the other about seamless battles. But they did show was looks like a Pokémon animation that appears to play after a battle transition, which to me implies seamless battles are out.we haven't seen battles completely, but they're pretty similar to Legends so far
Good. Keep all that ARPG stuff in a Legends subseries. We don’t know if battle transitions are gone, but they take place in the overworld like Legends which is all I really wanted. But stuff like Pokémon attacking you really doesn’t need to come back for a Pokémon game set in the modern day when Pokémon are no longer known as “dangerous creatures”. Same thing goes for crafting, which is definitely gone in a world with gas stations lol.I'm sorry but this looks like a step back from legends. Cold catching is gone and it even seems like battle transitions might be back, not to mention all the other amazing pla mechanics ( pokemon being able to attack you etc). Looks like it all might be gone. Essentially just looks like an open world sword/shield to me.
Hm, didn't notice a transition like that. Most of the intro-to-battle animations we saw (the zoom on the Pokemon's face with a roar/squeak/what have you) was pretty in line with PLA's battle transitionIt’s actually super vague so we can’t say one way or the other about seamless battles. But they did show was looks like a Pokémon animation that appears to play after a battle transition, which to me implies seamless battles are out.
Pokémon attacking you was hardly ever an actual threat. That element doesn’t need to be here. But if everything else from PLA really is stripped out and SV are just “SwSh but open world” I’m going to be incredibly disappointed.Good. Keep all that ARPG stuff in a Legends subseries. If playing like a Pokémon game makes it “Open World Sword and Shield” then I’ll take it lol. Legends was fun for a kind of Scarlet/Violet tech demo but I would be fine if a lot of it’s changes never came back, specifically the ones to the Pokédex and the battle system.
That'd make female Professor ... Shakira? So outside of "Daddy", the other thing coming to mind when looking at the in-game model is the resemblance to Gerard Pique
were at? because all the battles took place in the immediate world. there might be a transition to mask deloading thoughIt’s actually super vague so we can’t say one way or the other about seamless battles. it does play into the idea that Legends was an offshoot of the design for SVThis isn't necessarily positive or negative for me, but I don't really see much of Legends Arceus in Scarlet/Violet. I'll again reiterate that this feels more like the natural evolution of ideas like the Wild Area, the Isle of Armour, and the Crown Tundra. Big, open areas that you can explore at your leisure with a traditional Pokémon game loop. This isn't going to be an action game, this isn't going to be a game where catching multiple of the same Pokémon is a crucial part of the game loop, and this isn't going to have Legend Arceus' different battle system and stats and most of its mechanics. It's going to be classic Pokémon but in an open world, which as someone who liked Legends Arceus but didn't want all the games to be Legends Arceus suits me just fine.
Yeah but I don’t really want to be dodge rolling and throwing rocks in a Pokémon game. Again, that stuff is fine, just keep it in a subseries. I think a good chunk of Legends stuff will come over, we already know that overworld battles are back, and my guess is that evolutions being triggered manually and movesets being swapped anywhere from Legends will return, as those would benefit the mainline games. But all of that “catch 10 Pikachu and see them use thundershock 20 times for dex completion” and ARPG Noble Pokemon battle BS can go.Pokémon attacking you was hardly ever an actual threat. That element doesn’t need to be here. But if everything else from PLA really is stripped out and SV are just “SwSh but open world” I’m going to be incredibly disappointed.
Just the option to cold catch at least woulda been nice, or hell at least the ability to throw our own pokemon next to things like wild pokemon. Just running straight into creatures again is weird imo. This isn't necessarily positive or negative for me, but I don't really see much of Legends Arceus in Scarlet/Violet. I noticed that too. Maybe you start with all three but end up giving two to your rival/friend or whatever. Could be an interesting twist - I can't imagine you actually start out with all three and keep them.Probably mentioned already but the trainer who looks like she’s about to challenge you in the trailer, mentions ‘are you the trainer of these three’ does this hint that we may get all 3 starters from the off?
Or at least that's what she thinks. The answer will probably be "no".Probably mentioned already but the trainer who looks like she’s about to challenge you in the trailer, mentions ‘are you the trainer of these three’ does this hint that we may get all 3 starters from the off?
