If I may ask politely, may I have 12 Famiboard Gold coins? There is an adorable* backstory! (*adorableness may vary amongst readers)

In kindergarten, there was a poster on the wall counting up to 20 in all fun different colours. The number 12 in particular was red (my favourite colour), and I liked the pattern it invoked ("1...2...just like the actual counting of numbers!" - A thought a four year old Brofield probably had)

In my infinite peabrain wisdom, I didn't think there were numbers larger than 100, so I simply assumed 12 was where the pattern would exist, thus I deemed it my favourite number in November of 1995. (As an aside, the day I did find out you could add 100 and 100 on a calcuator and, instead of forming a small blackhole in the midst of my classroom, but simply add up to 200, my mind was blown.)

I do appreciate bellydrum livening up the end of both of these last two STs by introducing chaos. First one was Wario, now this one is stats and gold.

Me too. They have released 3 Switch games in just 6 months, I expect them to top that for the rest of the year.

Maybe not P5R right now but I totally expect P4G, Persona Dancing game collection and Dragon's Crown veeery soon.
 
So I decided to look into the origin of the EPD DK rumours in detail.

DK Vine posted a tweet back in September 2020, which was one month after the contract job post for EPD Tokyo's "2D Action Game". The thing is that Tokyo's involvement specifically was not mentioned in said tweet. It brings up younger staff and Miyamoto pushing for it, but Miyamoto has stepped back quite a bit in terms of game development ever since Takahashi replaced him as general manager back in 2015. Though it's definitely possible that he would be directly involved.

EPD Tokyo only started being mentioned in May 2021...by Zippo. Nintendo Life released an article a day or two later, saying that they had heard similar reports of a DK game being made by "the team responsible for Super Mario Odyssey". Then DK Vine decided to chime in again, but said it was being led by a new team created specifically for making DK games. Again, EPD Tokyo isn't mentioned, just that it would naturally be the first internal DK game since Jungle Beat.

Keep in mind that this was well after the EPD Tokyo job posting was made and speculation was happening, especially in the Nintendo OTs and First Party threads on Era where Zippo used to frequent.

So basically if it ends up happening, there's no way we'll ever know if DK Vine and Nintendo Life had legit sources, as the job posting had been known about for months and the extra info given is too vague.

So from what I know about NFTs, this means I can right-click @Raccoon, select "save as," and still functionally have @Raccoon without having to pay you anything, right? And because it isn't regulated, if you say otherwise I can just flip you the @HockeyBird?

Nah, I don't think this makes sense for two reasons imo:

1) FE4 maps aren't very good and are archaic, I feel like IS knows this hence why we've never gotten FE4-style maps again
2) We're already getting a remake of (presumably/allegedly) actual FE4 anyway, which is allegedly currently being developed, and could be released as soon as 2023. Perhaps IS will focus on making changes and additions to make FE4 better without having another, brand new game with FE4-style maps to worry about.

In my opinion, "scope of the maps" could just be referring to IS building off of Conquest if the maps are particularly ambitious. I certainly hope that's the case lol.

That's my stance as well. We just don't have enough solid rumors for it yet. Better to assume it's not real than to go into every Direct expecting it and getting nothing.

The evidence for this game is certainly a lot weaker than others, yeah. Compared to, for instance, Metroid last year or Fire Emblem this year (or early next) and Prime HD, this feels a lot more like it could be a big game of telephone
