I think I'm entering a Zelda period. Currently blasting hard in Wind Waker HD trying to get 100%, while booting up my yearly playthrough of OoT - this year, I'm playing the original!

As far as I'm concerned, every 3D Zelda is a 10/10. Well, maybe Skyward Sword is a 9. Or a 9.5.

My people.

I have returned from the abyssal film industry and my abyssal, never-ending addiction to the masterpiece that is Elden Ring to hang with y'all for a while!

An 8 from EDGE for Kirby is awesome. I'm guessing the review embargo drops tomorrow? I have high hopes, low 80s MC is my prediction.

How's everyone been?
Hey, you work in NY or CA? What roles do you usually do? I also do film work!

Hello there.

Despite being my favorite series, I have never 100%d a Zelda game. There's always a heart piece or three where I'm like "Nah". They are usually ones locked behind mini games.

Dealing with the usual headaches but I'm going to the doctor today , hopefully for a good change in them

Also, triangle strategy was great

If you're going for all the little figurines god bless. My brother somehow did it in OG WW, but it's a little bit insane.

Also hopelessly addicted to the Elden Ring. 85 hours in and I've probably got a good 3 or so main areas and who-knows-how-many bosses to go...

I'm really glad Kirby seems like it'll be turning out good. To have something so relatively simple after ER is gonna be great. I especially love the town-building aspect of it, that sort of "progression shown via tangible stuff," is the shit.

I caved and bought OlliOlli World. The game is rad as heck but my muscle memory of so many hours playing Tony Hawk's is actively fighting against me. I still keep missing jumps and tricks because of how used I am to THPS smh my head

Shit, man. I know people don't always love Arlo's content, but I don't think it's cool to hunt him down and make controllers out of him.

Cool thing about that controller is, if it gets dirty, you can just throw it in the laundry with your clothes and freshen it right up!

My girlfriend made the mistake of downloading Tetris 99 after watching me fail to achieve Maximus for the umpteenth time and now she's crying because she's being bullied in the game.

Y'all...stop targeting her

I love Final Fantasy Tactics, it was second favorite isometric SRPG after Tactics Ogre (both however have gone down a peg with Triangle Strategy). However I hated when those Zodiac Stones and the demons began to take prominence in the story. It pretty much went "remember all those back-stabbing machinations those characters were engaged in? Well guess what it was because they were possessed!" Personally I prefer the more down-to-earth political story of TriStrat.
I've heard this from multiple people, so I don't think it's an uncommon opinion. For me personally, though, I just find more down-to-earth political stories a bit on the boring side, and it's the more fantasy elements that really add the spice and intrigue I like. For FFT, what I liked about it wasn't really that 'they were just possessed', I didn't read it that way: I read it more as the stones were powerful corruptive forces, yes, but they really were just amping up the political greed and emotions of the person who used them. They were just tools to be used (or not used) and enhanced the politics rather than a detriment. But like I said, it definitely plays into my personal preferences that way! My love of these kinds of plots is why I love the back half of FF12 a lot, or prefer Valkyria Chronicles 4 to 1, or love Claude's story in FETH the most, etc.; I know it's not going to be like that for everyone.

Woah. WOAH. I missed some juicy info in the last month or so!

Did Nate ever put out his Switch hardware speculation podcast episode?
Funny enough he responded not too long ago in the hardware speculation thread:

Remains TBA.

Still doing research to check all the boxes. I don't want to talk this topic more than once. Would rather have a cover-all, single episode than countless updates. As of now, prior episode information remains accurate: dev kits exist, have been distributed, and are being worked with.

I'm at 34 hours right now, Chapter 15 out of 20. That's playing on Hard with having to retry a lot of battles + some optional battle grinding. Definitely would have gone faster if I had played on Normal, didn't grind for money, or just been better at the game

Fantastic game, tho
30 hours seem pretty much stop on yeah.

Hard disagree on some of the comments about the story. It is definitely engaging with some good twist and turns. Worldbuilding is very good too.
thanks! I am going to get it eventually, but I want to grab Kirby first, then by the time I am done with that, I will grab TS, it might even be on sale by then :p
Thank you both!

I'm based in Upstate NY and I'm the head of development at an indie film studio, where I basically vet all of the scripts being submitted to us, read them, manage our development team, and check for script quality as well as how well each submitted script aligns with our brand and could be viable to produce. What about you?

I'm exactly the same way, to be two-handing Kirby and ER is going to be the best palette cleanser swap between the two lol

I'm probably wrong, but I see the addition of folders as a confirmation that we'll get a Switch 2 or Pro. You don't bother updating an OS five years in if you won't use it for many years to come.
Hence my profile title. 😉

furry controllers. the future is now.

Leave it to Sonic to make furries more of a thing
(the Sonic fandom was my introduction to furry culture, is why I make that association)

Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew.
Oh God, it's like the "realistic" Sonic the Hedgehog that the first movie was going to go with originally before they changed the design...

But in controller form!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Same, game has potential. It’s a game I rather play on switch, but I just hope it performs well on it
Yeah if the Drake isn't out by then I might hold off on Frontiers just to see if it gets patched once Drake is released.

Also holy shit I just double-checked the Wiki entry on Frontiers because I had forgotten it was officially slated for Switch and on the wiki I found that apparently Jun Senoue is fucking coming back for this game???????
Sega literally did just reach into my brain and pull out ideas, didn't they? A new open-exploration game in the vein of Sonic Adventure 1 with Senoue coming back to do the music. Fuck. 2022 really is gonna be the best gaming year in a long time, isn't it?
