Triangle Strategy's story so far is fine (I'm on Chapter 9), but it's been pretty... safe, I guess? Fairly predictable, and nothing's really happened yet that kicked it up a few notches. I'd rank it as medium but well-executed, so far. But I'm not the biggest fan of political stories, or at least stories where the politics and intrigue is the main driving factor. Final Fantasy Tactics has tons of politics in it as well, but what really separates it in my book is the added wrinkle of the supernatural demonic stones, ancient hidden secrets, and how the stones/gods/high fantasy elements mesh along with the backstabby politics. Adding in more magic, ancient evils, gods, demons, or in general just making the events more batshit and having more crazy plot twists is what I love in stories. There's already the PSP version as well as a port of that to mobile devices. I'm sure a port of Tactics into modern systems isn't that much of an effort.
Triangle Strategy's story has been fine so far but I think the acting and character interactions carry it through. While I wish the side characters were more integrated into the plot, the core house members play an active role in the cutscenes throughout. FFT has a more epic storyline no doubt but character's become basically non-existent once they join Ramza's party. "I shall join your army Ramza but after this day, I shall never speak again!". The main thing I'm missing from FFT is the job system. I still don't think any has matched the quality and flexibility of FFT's job system.
From the trailer it seems that they'll try to make the soundtrack more like God Shattering Star and I'm all for it.I hope they nail it as well in three hopes.
It really says something about the OST when God Shattering Star is as good as it is and yet it's like my 4th or 5th favorite map theme. And yeah, as someone who's not really interested in Three Hopes, I'm at the very least really looking forward to seeing what they do with the musicFrom the trailer it seems that they'll try to make the soundtrack more like God Shattering Star and I'm all for it.

And I agree 1000% about Final Fantasy Tactics. It remains the prime example of customization and party building in a tactics game, at least to me. FETH goes some of the way there by letting you choose the development path of everyone, but the sheer amount of options, classes, and cool stuff you can do in FFT hasn't been beaten to this day. Plus it's just so incredibly addicting.
Age of Calamity had a banger soundtrack so I'm excited to see what Three Hopes does with its source materialIt really says something about the OST when God Shattering Star is as good as it is and yet it's like my 4th or 5th favorite map theme. Lmao I thought this was the folders thread for a second and you were comparing Folders finally coming to Rayman finally getting revived and was very here for itThe saddest thing about Rayman's absence is that he was once Ubisoft's poster boy. Their first big hit IP. Whereas mostly all of Ubisoft's biggest franchises have been milked fucking dry, the Rayman series has stood the test of time with each game having there own distinct feel without ever losing their spark. The series only has 5 mainline titles, and I argue the series rivals Nintendo in terms of quality platforming.
Now, he's fucking neglected. I want to go off on Ubisoft's BS surrounding Rayman, but it's honestly nothing compared to the shit their employees have to go through with all the sexual and violent harassment surrounding this awful fucking company. It's at the point where I don't give a shit if they make a new Rayman or not. Until they get their shit together, they are not getting a damn dime from me. As much as it would pain me not to support Rayman day one, this is a much more important issue that desperately needs to be addressed.
Honestly, I am. I kinda like how some 3DS games lookUnfortunately I haven’t played RF5 yet so I can’t comment on it, but RF4 (and RF3!) have polished the farm-sim, fantasy-RPG, social-sim gameplay blend to a fine sheen. The major drawback is the 3DS-level graphics, but if you’re cool with that…

For emblem heroes crossover events…Once, Nate posted about knowing the marketing related to the next mainline Fire Emblem game. He talked about 'a fairly meaningful marketing plan attached to it'.
Could this suggest that Nintendo will go BIG, like with an anime or something?
Doubt they will be giving those out with updates now that there are those new mission and rewards icons that you get with platinum pointsDid we got new icons?
Considering what we heard just from the trailer, I’m gonna got out on a limb and say it will be great.Age of Calamity had a banger soundtrack so I'm excited to see what Three Hopes does with its source material
The Kirby Review thread![]()
It's true that Nintendo never used the anime medium to promote anything, unfortunately.Edit: @Amadeus I don’t think it would be an anime since when was the last, or first(?), time Nintendo has done that for a series. My guess is the marketing will probably be more integrated & grand combining certain aspects like a concert, bringing back the con, Heroes, and perhaps a fancy commercial that can be split up.
The one time “sucks” will have everyone thinkingKirby Reviews: "Kirby Sucks"
That’s what it was for me, all the things you said plus it has an amazing 80s-Japan vibe around it that made it fun to live in that world. And it really is an experience, my brain was on overdrive piecing things together start to finishIncredibly excited for 13 Sentinels.
From everything I've seen and heard of it, it seems like one of those games that's a real "experience" in that it transports you to a unique world and takes you on an emotional journey.
It's the sort of game wouldn't usually be into (not really a fan of RTS or visual novel type gameplay generally) yet so much about it really appeals to me.
For me, the magic of gaming is its ability to give us experiences beyond what is possible in real life, and this game looks like an adventure well worth taking.
One of three times: ramen, spaghetti, and Kirby. The one time “sucks” will have everyone thinking
“Oh, it’s good!”
...okay so should I not play 13 Sentinels then? For anyone that might be playing 13 Sentinels for the first time, you have to ask yourself, does the thought of noodles inside a sandwich sound appealing to you?

I'm not sure whether my disgust over the idea of noodle sandwiches is stronger than my desire to figure out what the hell this meansIt's a core part of the game. Some might even say it's the heart and soul of the game itself. You have to embrace it if you are to enjoy the game at its fullest.

Depends: does macaroni count as noodles and do burgers count as sandwiches? For anyone that might be playing 13 Sentinels for the first time, you have to ask yourself, does the thought of noodles inside a sandwich sound appealing to you?

The fan on my Erista made a noise today that it's never made before, which might've also been part of that ritual. Please don't say "sacrifice."I believe my acquiring of such a device might be the final step in a conjuring ritual for some form of new hardware. You will all be able to thank me for my sacrifice.
I’ve never had it or really thought about it before, but simply playing 13 Sentinels has put yakisoba pan at the top of my “I’m going to try this one day” list. For anyone that might be playing 13 Sentinels for the first time, you have to ask yourself, does the thought of noodles inside a sandwich sound appealing to you?
