I still don't know if it's supposed to be a horse person

it's literally the only thing we know about the game besides bad, shallow, sequel but not a series, and Q2
We also know that "it doesn't feature Wario". One of the first hint she gave out when people started to say maybe a sequel to Mario Sports Superstars(cause it had horse racing in it and people thought stinky might be a Wario reference).

And also that it is not a "horse game". from when she responded to... um... that Twitter person... you know who LOL

Those are the two hints that no one actually remembers.

So hey, still might not be 1-2 Switch, I conceded it's just my gut feeling, but we do know a little more than just "a shallow casual game sequel no one is excited about" and that it features a "horse person" at some level.

sure

it would be an interesting choice. February is completely empty from Nintendo this year, while March has two games to market. Whether that supports a March Direct or discourages it depends on their strategy. If it is a March Direct, then February will be very, very quiet
The fact that February is so empty gives me the feeling that we'll definitely see a Direct that month; Right now Nintendo is focusing on Pokémon and March has Triangle Strategy and Kirby.

February 2021 had Super Mario 3D World and Bravely Default and they did a direct in the month.

Nintendo will do a direct whenever they want to lol. The month could have no games coming or multiple games coming and they’ll do a direct in either scenario.

Horse person can definitely be a cowboy.

Everybody Switch seems like the best guess that ticks all the boxes.
Just thought of that as well. I was all on the Animal Crossing train until I realized Horse Person is literally a Cowboy lol

Remember 1-2 Switch was revealed with these cowboys doing a shoot out. In the end it did sell well. People can shit on it all they want, but maybe Nintendo had lots of ideas and they really wanted to make a much better sequel.

Just like Wii Sports to Wii Sports Resort, except Wii Sports was on a much higher ground compared to 1-2 Switch lol.

1-2 Switch sequel fits the best because it's both A. unexciting af and B. Totally something some exec would greenlight based on how well 1-2 Switch did

1-2 Switch 2 makes a lot of sense but's too obvious a guess for me which makes me dismiss it in favour of more out there suggestions.

I also think it's fun to come up with dumb games and try to adjust them into something that would fit Emily's description.

the horse person was to distract us. I’m convinced it’s 1-2 Switch meaning 3-4 or Everybody Switch. Good way to sell more Joy Con as well.

I made this dumb joke in the general thread (just with Elden Ring) but what if

zoot3d-link-riding-epona.jpg

Link's Archery Training

  • Sequel to Link's Crossbow Training which is part of the Zelda franchise but technically not part of a "series"
  • Original game got a tepid critical reception (68 MC) and was quite shallow
  • Link is a horse person
  • This wouldn't be a horse game but a shooting game, even if there are levels in which you ride on a horse

I’m hoping we get more Sega love and they bring over stuff like NIGHTS into Dreams and the Sonic Adventures
That's in the Space Pack, which will be added to Nintendo Switch Online in the year 2026, when the total cost for the subscription reaches £120 per year.

Emily also said a lot of people guessed it already. So it's either 1-2 Switch or Amiibo Festival.

We were looking at an Animal Crossing spin off as one possibility because AC got big on Switch, but Zelda did it first. Sure, why not.

maybe it's just wishful thinking as a Kawamoto Enjoyer but I can't imagine that it's 1-2 Switch

a bad EPD 4 game would ruin the year for me tbh

Nate said in his podcast the casual game is “not a game people should get too excited about. It’s going to be one of those things that come out and people go “what?” and “why?” Some people will buy and have their fun with it. It’ll probably sell more than it should.”

In the comments section of the video someone said made a comment about 1-2 Switch and playing 1-2-3-4 Switch in May. Nate responded with “observant”.

Another person asked in the comments “is the causal game that keeps getting referenced 1-2-3 Switch?” And Nate liked it.

My conclusion is it’s definitely a sequel to 1-2 Switch.

Yeah, but i think they steered clear of Bowser's Fury before doing their direct.
The game launched 2.12.21 and the direct landed 2.17.21

I could see something similar with Arceus. Announce the direct 5-10 days later. Remind me what's launching in February this year? I don't think they have anything big so the direct could come sooner.

Damn y’all got to read Nate’s comment section lol. I can’t write all these potential hints out.

Someone said “Calling it now the casual game is electroplankton”

Nate: “I wish, So will…Everybody.” Umm haven’t some of you said Everybody Switch lol. It feels like Nate just game part of the title.

Ok the title 100% has the word “Everybody” in it. He answered another casual game comment with Everybody.

If I’m recalling right I think Emily mentioned that before

Ok. Nate’s made like 6 comments to people on Everybody being related to the casual game and also said “the game has some neat ideas and should make for some entertaining social gatherings”
Everybody Switch. Everybody switches roles during the mini games.

Ok it’s definitely a sequel to 1-2 Switch. After reading the comments Nate responded and liked like 10 comments related to the casual game being 1-2 Switch.

I have one last comment to add from his video.

Person says “hey nate, have you heard anything about Good Feel or Grezzo? I read something about Good Feel making a Goemon spiritual successor and Grezzo doing more 2D Zelda games. Is any of this true?”

Nate responds with “I’ve heard a few whispers about them potentially working on some 2D Zelda projects”.

Yeah that was one of the big hints Emily gave a few months back. Horse person, people at Nintendo think it's a stinker, sequel to middling game, everybody in the working and likely final title.

aw man, thanks for the heads up

what a weird sequel to come out in year five

looks like Nintendo's weird ideas factory is out of ideas.

imagine greenlighting a sequel to the game where you have to face your opponent during a global pandemic

I guess they thought it would be over by now lol

1-2-Switch getting a sequel due to high sales as a launch title is like greenlighting a Knack sequel based on PS4 bundle sales.

Oh wait.

I'm gonna have to log out for a couple days, this is so depressing

EPD 4 my beloved, look what the sales charts have done to you

But this time everybody switches. I'm guessing the "everybody" has to do with playing it online somehow.
