I'm just so sick of fake insiders acting all holier than thou. I dont really care as much about the fake info (that's why I'm fine with Markomaro), but when you start acting smug as fuck then it gets annoying.

Might it be time that this thread - and future iterations - moved on from Grifter Drama? Could the moderation team perhaps have a conversation about this?

Like yeah, I get it - it's frustrating seeing someone with a following peddle a bunch of crap, but forum bitching doesn't really achieve much and every week or so this thread just descends into whatever Twitter bullshit is going on, and it's especially pronounced with SamusHunter. We don't need this thread or these boards to have a beef with some extraordinarily minor internet personality. Jon has more effectively and politely cast doubt on what SH is saying; we don't need to do anything about it.

Not trying to preach some 'turn the other cheek' stuff, but if we know the source is unreliable, and is grifting, do we need to keep bringing it back? What do we actually achieve by doing that, other than the name of the website getting dragged up online as some toxic place? Is that a reputation we want? Do people need a place to vent about this stuff? Do you want a seperate thread for Spurious Claims and Ways to Renounce Them? Do need clearer rules or recommendations on what could be considered offsite drama?

I don't know and I'm tired and going to sleep soon, but I'm getting bored of this.

Wait what happened to GoNintendo??? I tried looking it up but couldn't find any concise information on it other than some sort of hardware failure that might delete the sites data. That really sucks :( I only know the writer(s) from the occasional Youtube video but they seemed like a good site.

The type of analysis they wanted too dumb, basically trying to estimate the potential sales of MK based on historical attach rates. It's just the way the datas was presented.
 
I find it so fascinating that Nintendo could have a February Direct that has no (or almost no) new first-party games and it could still be a baller Direct. Like, they could show more Splatoon 3, Bayo 3, give us a Zelda title and window, an Advance Wars release date, a Kirby date and blowout, and maybe some third party stuff sprinkled in... and it'd be a great Direct.

And yet they'll probably have at least one new thing to show. Hype.

From what I understand from game8.co's guide, is that you have to use the original Switch to transfer the individual save data for Pokemon Sword to your new Switch (but this will overwrite any progress that may have been made on the receiving Switch. Shouldn't be an issue, but worth mentioning all the same).

even putting aside my failure to live up to my silly plans, the direct thread is always kinda boring at the very start of the year because believing in a january direct is such a fringe opinion at this point

it won't get good until late in the month I think

I totally agree with this. There’s no value in bringing this up regularly. We are well aware people like this exist and what they regularly do. We can have our own fun discussing games. I care about this community and our opinions far more than someone not a part of it who lies repeatedly for clout.

Barring not bringing them here at all, at least if you bring in a Twitter person you know is bullshit you should always label them so people unfamiliar don’t entertain them at all.

I mean this sincerely, I think it’s weird we acted faster on “would you buy threads” which are harmless and can easily be marked ignored than regularly bringing in fake insiders/clout chasers.

It's no secret that I'm not big on DLC in general, and I very much appreciated how New Super Luigi U and Torna, for instance, released separately as well at retail.

Which means it should come as no surprise that I wouldn't be particularly enthused by this concept. GaaS really aren't my thing for these reasons, and this would be reaching further that way than even just DLC.

It's Mario Kart. I doubt it needs a subscription in order to be absolutely packed, if Nintendo wants it to be.

They could totally leave out Samus, given Dachora and Etecoon fit the feel of Mario Kart so well. And we already even know they can drive!

I would personally prefer, of course, if a new Mario Kart focuses not on Nintendo's other franchises, but on those under the wider MarioDonkey Kong umbrella: RPGs, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Luigi's Mansion, Wario Land/Ware, and so forth. There's a lot it hasn't really touched yet.

Honestly... I wouldn't mind it. The biggest issue with most of Nintendo's recent 'sports games' is that, outside of the short singleplayer stuff, there's not much to really strive for outside of just playing the same stages over and over. Whereas an evolving MK game would give you some reason to jump back in outside of "hey lets play a few tracks with friends."

I know that's probably not a very popular opinion but, hey, I ain't here to make friends. I'm here to make pointless grudges with anonymous people on the internet over electronic toys >:)

Though, I wouldn't want it to launch in a semi-complete state just to drip out content. There should be a good number of tracks and characters to start.
