They generally done ~12 first party releases per year. That means 1 per month.They could just… skip July? And August, we’ve gone 2+ months without a first party release before, and in the final year, that’s more than reasonable
That'd be wild. Brand new DK game in 3 monthsSo if Nintendo reveals the July game via twitter, what game do you think it is? I’m thinking the hypothetical DK game, seeing as how July would be the third time in a row we get Mario related content:
• May - Paper Mario
• June - Luigi’s Mansion
• July - DK
Unless Lugi’s Mansion 2 is the technical July game because it releases June 27th
yes, I'm personally of the mind that they might almost have too much old shit to space outYou'd think they'd spread Endless Ocean, Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion a bit further apart if they didn't have anything else for the foreseeable future
Also, obligatory apologies to anyone who was really looking forward to this due to my earlier info. I've said this before, but I only said anything because I was on cloud nine that week... and I probably should've restrained myself, haha.
My money is on Steel Diveryes, I'm personally of the mind that they might almost have too much old shit to space out
zelda hagis! fire emblem remake! prime 2 if that's a thing! f-zero gx maybe idk! the namco remaster if that's a thing! whatever weird wii or 3ds upres we aren't expecting!
Old Shit Year!! Old Shit Year!!yes, I'm personally of the mind that they might almost have too much old shit to space out

I didn't have nearly enough access before the Switch was out, so I can't really compare how things are now to then... but it feels just as secretive as it has ever been. They really don't let off much.Completely random question:
In your experience dealing with Nintendo leaks, has it always been this hard to get info out of them, or have they tightened up during these recent years?
I am genuinely curious with Nintendo, seeing as how it's the only one of the big three that has a tight control over what leaks (granted, we knew of the TOTK OLED Switch a lot of months ago, but that was kinda like a time bomb that was gonna explode anyways).
As much as I would love seeing a whole bunch of new people get into GX from 99, I honestly really want it to be more than a Pikmin level port, not even for graphical updates like Prime. I think that game could really benefit from general changes to it's content, and I say that as a huge GX fan. Online's the big one and they'd probably want to rebalance things if they made it online. But I wouldn't mind a bit of a toned down difficulty at least in Story Mode, as much as I just love playing that game on Master.right now I'm feeling a Hagi port for July
An F-Zero GX HD could be a fun thing to get in the middle of summer
somehow, Rhythm Heaven Mega Mix has returnedwhatever weird wii or 3ds upres we aren't expecting!
Anything on Metroid Prime 4? You don’t have to tell me what it is you’ve heard, just a yes or no answer would be fine. But since February have you heard anything?I didn't have nearly enough access before the Switch was out, so I can't really compare how things are now to then... but it feels just as secretive as it has ever been. They really don't let off much.
He also the first insider said the switch will release in 2025yeah having the first Partner Showcase in almost two years slotting in where there's almost always a General Direct was just like the world's luckiest guess by some randos who know nothing
Good time to catch up on the back log for me.This year is really shaping up to be a snoozer, huh
no need to be like thishonestly it would surprise me if brazil is just wrong about everything. hes like zippo 2.0 he clearly knows absolutely nothing and i will never understand why people believe randos online with no proof... brazil is just backtrack andy....

unluckily Nintendo has possibly the tightest security i've ever seen in a gaming company, like we've reach a point where Nintedo are keeping track with their employee 24/7.honestly it would surprise me if brazil is just wrong about everything. hes like zippo 2.0 he clearly knows absolutely nothing and i will never understand why people believe randos online with no proof... brazil is just backtrack andy....
I think a brand new Donkey Kong game, if marketed well, can sell in line with Mario Party Superstars. I could see them saving the next game to be cross gen next year, but Mario Party has been consistently positioned in the fall(October specifically), and I believe that next year they'll have something bigger for the holiday season(Mario Kart most likely). But they can always have one game to be cross gen and another to be exclusive, so Mario Party makes sense next year.That's an excellent point. But even if we'd all be jumping for joy if Nintendo's end-of-year program consisted of WWHD/TPHD, Prime 4 and EPDK, in commercial terms, the combined sales of Tropical Freeze, Metroid Dread and Skyward Sword HD are barely higher than the total sales of Mario Party Superstars, not to mention the 20 million copies sold by Super Mario Party.
Even though Mario Party has come up a lot in the conversation lately as a possibility, I'm a bit lukewarm because it's an absolute evergreen , which makes me question the relevance of releasing one at the very end of a life cycle.
However, variety and complementarity count for a lot at a console launch, and that's the big argument that makes me think Prime 4 would be useful when the Switch 2 comes out. So, we'll see. In short, I'm convinced that there will be at least one big new game for the end of 2024, although I have no idea which one it will be.
If I were a bit cynical, I'd say that even DKCR HD, and WW/TP HD could sell better than Princess Peach Showtime.
I think the reason for the delay is not that it would lack software, but because it would lack exclusive and system selling software. For all we know 3D Mario has a shot at being under pre-production until 2019, so development aiming for late 2024 and slipping to early 2025 isn't out of question, which would cause the hardware to be delayed alongside it. But it's the first 6-12 months that are key here, maybe they didn't feel like releasing the console this fall and then the next major game being Mario Kart like next spring was a good idea(or maybe Mario Kart will need more time in the oven and come next fall, and they felt like they absolutely needed that one in the calendar year?).as much as I wanna get really excited about Donkey Kong, Mario Party, FE4, and Prime 4 to give the switch one final strong holiday…
Man, MAN, I just don’t buy it. Why would they delay their new console launch while somehow still having enough games to make for a strong holiday? Something just doesn’t add up, because if that’s the case, then there’s no way they delayed the console launch due to a lack of software, because when would these games have been released otherwise? Would everything in the first year aside from 3D Mario and Kart be crossgen? It just doesn’t make sense to me, I’m still expecting panic mode to lead to a handful of easy ports for the holiday and maybe Prime 4 if it’s ready to go, anything more feels like insane copium.
Hot take, but I disagree. It's kinda nice actually. I can concentrate on my games without wondering about the next best thing.It’s so boring without Nintendo news
Who says it isn’t this month I am going to believe it’s this month until end of AprilThank you @Brazil for being transparent and honest!! We really appreciate your contributions to our speculation and the insights you give us
I'm a bit sad that the Direct isn't this month, but that just makes me even more hyped for it whenever it happens, because it's gonna be a packed one!!

I think this first half of the year is not that bad and is really comparable to 2018, tbh even to 2019 but NSMBU DX was a super big seller. I think they'll stack the second half just like they've always been doing(except 2020 for obvious reasons).
I believe that in the lack of the absolute major seller expected to come in the holiday season(3D Mario, delayed alongside Switch 2), they'll focus on having multiple games that sell way less, and maybe one that ends up being a big seller(Donkey Kong is the most likely imo, but maybe they go wild and release Ring Fit Adventure 2).
Tbh I was expecting Switch 2 to release like in September alongside 3D Mario, with Metroid Prime 4 coming in October, and DK releasing like in June, Fire Emblem in May or July(before Switch 2). I think there were games supposed to come as cross gen that were pushed forward, games that were always meant to be Switch first that were pushed back from spring/summer to fall(Donkey Kong), and games that just weren't delayed alongside the hardware.
I mean, they theoretically could release a console this year with cross gen Metroid Prime 4, Donkey Kong, Mario Party, and with only 3D Mario exclusive at launch(and that's assuming it wasn't the reason for the delay...) until the next major game only 6 months after, and maybe with Mario Kart just 12 months after. Or they can have a steadily flow of block buster exclusive stuff if they release it with 3D Mario next March, with Mario Kart coming on the holidays at the latest but maybe by late spring already, Animal Crossing possibly releasing on the year 1 of the console in early 2026, and a ton of other games that wouldn't be 10m+ sellers but would all be very appealing.
They also could theoretically delay all games that were supposed to be cross gen alongside the hardware(Metroid Prime 4, Mario Party, DK?) but that would lead to abysmal bad software sales in the most important quarter of the month. So I think there was stuff pushed up, pushed back and stuff that will stay intact in the lineup.
I just want Wind Waker Switch announced I love that gameHot take, but I disagree. It's kinda nice actually. I can concentrate on my games without wondering about the next best thing.
I just want Wind Waker Switch announced I love that game
Same i liked traveling on my red boat it was coolMe too. That game is so magical and awesome. I wasn’t as crazy about it when I was a kid but it’s become one of my favorites in recent years. For me, the first four 3D Zeldas were the golden age. Not disrespecting anyone who’s been loving the last few, but the traditional style + traditional gameplay (I add that last part regarding SS) that mostly died with TP is what I loved the most personally. I’d be more excited for a brand new 2D game at this point myself than another open world one.

Like pyoro is most likely someone who works in marketing, since he accidently leaked where he lives, in japan kyoto i think.
The only reason i think their like this is because of Tears of the kingdom, a game that was spoiled and leaked a week early. Like this time we're in uncharted territory, because Nintendo are planning the switch 2, heck the recent hiring of gios is a prime example of them preparing for NG switch third party.
Lastly a company can change their plans at any moment, like prime remaster was ready for a whole year before release.
nintendo just loves milking old hardware....To me this feels like the usual pre new generation lull that I was hoping Nintendo could avoid. Feels extremely similar to past transitions such as 2006, 2012, 2016. I do see two key differences this time around. In the past the new hardware was already announced and Nintendo had other devices on the market (DS,3DS). My hunch is that they are trying to thread the needle with revealing new hardware and keeping their only product on the market as healthy as possible.
I feel like the optimal time to release hardware was around now, but obviously you can't rush these things so it's better to get it right than push it out the door before its ready. Hopefully we can get some exciting announcements here this summer to help create some excitement and fun speculation.
If recent trends for Nintendo hold, they probably will just drop an announcement trailer and press release about the next system. Then have some sort of showcase for software. But who knows anymore. I think any switch 1 focused presentation has to come before unless it’s all cross gen. Those post-switch 3DS presentations fomented lots of irrational hate and I think Nintendo would want to avoid that againSo, the next Direct will probably be the next gen reveal Direct or will be another Switch 1 only direct?
While I don't agree with attacking insiders, getting a direct we had absolutely no idea was coming sounds pretty amazing.One day we're going to get a direct from Nintendo without any heads up from insiders and we're going to ask why that happened. Oh I don't know maybe because they keep getting attacked for no reason? Idk just a thought
Calling someone a boot licker isn't very nice brohonestly ya'll are a bunch of boot lickers i tell ya. brazil is just wrong. cope all u want. i will never believe a single word he says from now on and i suggest u all do the same but u prob wont and thats fine! we all have our own opinions. pyoro is the only reliable leaker and until he says anything dont believe a word from anyone else.
does that necessarily mean that's it 100% true?He said in the last investors meeting, that new product plans are not influenced by quarterly sales of current hardware, iiirc
okay?honestly ya'll are a bunch of boot lickers i tell ya. brazil is just wrong. cope all u want. i will never believe a single word he says from now on and i suggest u all do the same but u prob wont and thats fine! we all have our own opinions. pyoro is the only reliable leaker and until he says anything dont believe a word from anyone else.
Common sense also dictates that you can't just delay something like the rollout of new hardware for a couple months because you feel like it.does that necessarily mean that's it 100% true?
What kind o rage the people had? A game they want on Switch be a exclusive to 3DS and vice versa?If recent trends for Nintendo hold, they probably will just drop an announcement trailer and press release about the next system. Then have some sort of showcase for software. But who knows anymore. I think any switch 1 focused presentation has to come before unless it’s all cross gen. Those post-switch 3DS presentations fomented lots of irrational hate and I think Nintendo would want to avoid that again
It's not really a problem if Nintendo says "This is for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2", but it really depends.If recent trends for Nintendo hold, they probably will just drop an announcement trailer and press release about the next system. Then have some sort of showcase for software. But who knows anymore. I think any switch 1 focused presentation has to come before unless it’s all cross gen. Those post-switch 3DS presentations fomented lots of irrational hate and I think Nintendo would want to avoid that again
I agree with that. I don’t really believe in the theory that Nintendo is panicking after deciding to postpone the switch 2. As you say very well, it’s not at all like them not to have an alternative solution to deal with all eventualities.I think Nintendo is generally super smart in terms of scheduling and always makes up for stuff being delayed. A few examples:
- Switch itself was internally delayed from October 2016 to March 2017. There are multiple factors to it, but BotW was delayed to early 2017 too, and was decided to come to Switch only by spring 2016. I really wonder what they were expecting to release the console with before Zelda. My personal guess is that they were super optimistic on Odyssey being done by late 2016 but the game took way more than that to make;
- Animal Crossing New Horizons was aiming for a 2019 release. It's wild to imagine where they'd even put the game on that super stacked lineup, with Link's Awakening in September, Ring Fit Adventure and Luigi's Mansion 3 in October and Pokémon Sword and Shield in November. When you look at the 2020 lineup, it was pretty dire and looks like it was supposed to be dire even before the pandemic, with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury supposed to be the holiday title. I think they were planning to sit a little on Link's Awakening and release Super Mario 3D All Stars earlier, but pushed LA forward and 3D All Stars back when they knew Animal Crossing wouldn't make it. The pre-reboot version of Metroid Prime 4 was apparently aiming for 2020 at some point so it could've played a factor;
- Tears of the Kingdom was supposed to come in 2022, but that year was super stacked as well with Splatoon 3 in September, Bayonetta 3 in October and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in November. The first half of 2023 tho, without Zelda would be much more hard to bear, and two other games were sat on forever before releasing that January and February (Engage and MPR). I believe Super Mario Bros Wonder never had any internal delay and was always meant to come in fall 2023. Emily has said that Metroid Prime 4 was aiming for 2023 back in 2021, so I believe the game was never aiming for cross gen, but a delay to 2024 would put it next to the next hardware so it'd be marketed as such, but now they can just make that an enhanced version and release later;
- 2024 lineup was probably meant to be something like 2018 or 2019, were the first half of the year is super underwhelming but has an absolutely stacked second half, but with the hardware delay they had to move games all around, so it feels even more empty... Until it's not
50/50 since i presume investors meeting are more to let investor be calm and let them be reassured of the future.does that necessarily mean that's it 100% true?
