StarTopic Nintendo Direct Speculation |ST8| Press Your (Nintendo Direct) Luck!

When will the GDC panels on Super Mario Bros Wonder and Tears of the Kingdom happen? Any chance either happens today?

Still holding out hope for WWHD.

I just want to get bloom-drenched to the nose in what I still consider to be the best-looking Nintendo game ever. My life needs to see that sweetheart on the OLED.

I honestly think the next direct it will be shadow dropped on the Switch. The rumors for WWHD and TPHD have been going on for legit years now so I think its just a matter of time. I also think sense after Luigis Mansion 2 remaster there is nothing really lined up for their release schedule for Switch I could see them putting those two games somewhere in between Luigis mansion 2 and switch 2 release date to have some filler in between the waiting time.

WWHD was amazing back on the Wii U. I cant imagine how nice it would look on the Switch oled.

I really hope the April General Direct pans out; thanks to TTYD slotted in May and LM2 in June, we might really still have to wait until June potentially for the first major Direct of the year! No new first-party announcements for this long has been depressing.

Can't wait for the April-June direct to see the Fire Emblem remake and probably/maybe/hopefully Prime 4. Apart from that...idk? hopefully we know about something else soon enough.

One day Pyoro will make their last leak, like brushy before them. There's still hope for more now though.

I feel like there's gotta be a July game, otherwise Nintendo wouldn't be releasing TTYD HD and Endless Ocean in the same month, nor would they be releasing LM2 HD just a month later instead of spreading it and TTYD out a bit more. And unless it's something really minor, I doubt Nintendo would wait until June to reveal it, so I think an (early?) April Direct makes sense.

Endless Ocean is functionally the April game fwiw. they've done schedules like this before

It's functionally the April game and the May game and the June game and the July game and the August game and the September game and the October game and the November game and the December game and the 2025 game and the 2026 game and and and...

ya know, cuz it's endless

I hope they have an F-Zero game in the works that lets you play as at least some of the 55 playable characters not playable since the 2000s, that would be nice.

A part of the reason why I wanted a new F-Zero game was to show off the world to a whole new audience, like the last 3 entries absolutely excelled at doing. They perfectly showed why the series is more interesting than just Captain Falcon. 99 doesn't even show Dr Stewart and Pico. It doesn't even have bios for the characters or machines. Not even loading screen tips about which ingame tracks are which pilot's homes.
It's got the least personality out of all the games aside from Maximum Velocity. Even the game it's based on has the manual comic showing the 4 playable characters and the world.

If they're really gonna stuff the rest of the year with remasters and remakes this is easily going to be the most boring Switch year.

Save me, Endless Ocean.

Personally, i'd think the Indie Showcase, if there is one this month, is next week.

Nintendo has a game releasing this week, they have two(?) GDC talks, so there's other things to focus on.

Not saying it's impossible this week, just unlikely.

I just pre-ordered Paper Mario TTYD and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD :)

I'm waiting to see what people think about Endless Ocean Luminous, but I'm not indifferent !

Thankful I'm still catching up on 2023. Plus, third parties doing good stuff like Prince of Persia (on the shelf, not played) and Unicorn Overlord (en route, not played) has redeemed what would've been a completely empty first quarter for me. I've been doing some great gaming, but not one of those games is a 2024 release, and the 2023 catch up has kept me from the 2 new games I did buy. Luckily means I'm more than sorted till May when I'll give Thousand Year Door a go.

But yeah. Pretty sure Kat Bailey on IGN said there's even more re-releases planned for this year a few months ago. Safe to say Nintendo pressed the Old Stuff button repeatedly.

As long as WW and TP are included that’s fine by me. I don’t need new stuff for a while.

I mean I guess, but that just brings up the question of why they opted to put its release date in early May rather than actually put it in April lol. Either way I feel like Nintendo would've spread this stuff out a bit more if they had nothing in July. Only revealing 1st party stuff up until June tells me that they specifically want to keep H2 under wraps, possibly for this supposed April Direct imo.

It would be unusual for Nintendo to skip July having previously launched a first party game every July since Switch launched. An April Direct would align pretty neatly with both announcing a July game and announcing games that are further out (i.e. Holiday season 2024). In that sense, April Direct would be a replacement for February and June combined I think.

The other options are that there's no July title, or it's the kind of release Nintendo can do a standalone announcement. I'm not expecting EPD4 to have anything on Switch this year but maybe they've partnered with indieszero to bring back another Touch generations title.

Yeah, doesn't surprise me even though it's disappointing. I have Unicorn Overlord here but there's not that much on the horizon that I'm really excited for. My only hope is that we get some more low(er) budget releases like Endless Ocean, that was a really cool announcement.

Call me crazy, but I believe in a world where this console still come in november…

Last night, I had a dream where the Switch 2 released and it was such a disappointment that even the biggest Nintendo fans I know were having difficulty coming up with positive things to say about it.

Please don't let my dream become a reality.

No direct and Nintendo will talk about the console on may. The big show is in june.
I mean it most certainly can. The world is ready for it and most websites talk about it nonstop lol. Also this would not be the first time leaks would be wrong about something.

It's so much better in WWHD!
As I've heard! I never really had an issue with it, I just got stuck on it and had other things going on at the time but the QoL improvements are a plus. But I wouldn't get a Wii U just for it since I mostly play handheld. Fingers crossed

Yup. One for Wonder and one for Tears:

Both are happening today. It’s highly unlikely there’s any consumer facing announcements coming out of these but if you’re at all interested in how the sausage is made they’ll be worth checking out if the recordings are released at some point.
"This concludes our presentation about why Link only makes Yelling Sounds. Anyway, Switch 2 out tomorrow. Thank you."

The total lack of buzz suggests no indie world this month I would say.

I don't know if we'll have an Indie World.

For me, the most important thing is the Nintendo Direct. I hope that guys like Necro, Brazil or Nate will soon confirm that it's still scheduled for next month.

Damn at the middle of a boring-ass class the only thing in my mind was Metroid Prime 4. Please let the April Direct happen already and please show MP4 this time Nintendo it's been 7 years 😭.
