I bought a PS5 recently after owning a PS4, and today I played it for the first time. My takeaway? Video games are video games, and better graphics don't make them that different. It made me appreciate the times that Nintendo has tried something different with its hardware that challenged developers to think of something new, when Nintendo released a new IP that's hard to describe because it's a new twist on genre conventions, and when Nintendo introduced a new mechanic or design goal in an existing franchise that changed the fundamental moment-to-moment gameplay. Obviously, other developers do this, too, but not all developers and that's okay. This experience with my PS5 today just reminded me what defines "new experiences" and what feels "next generation" to me.

I was doing my daily 7km run, I slipped on a wet part of the sidewalk, broke a tooth and my lower back is hurting terribly.

It was supposed to be a 30min exercise and now I'll be stuck in bed to whole day and with a fucking expensive dentist bill to pay tomorrow.

Feels like Nintendo rarely remakes their Mario games, I wouldn't mind seeing SML1 with a facelift, given it's extremely basic. (But I want to argue that's kind of the charm of the game)

That's the big question. Every game we know about (other than Prime 4, I guess!) is dated before July, and there's no Pokemon, sooooo... huh.

Definitely seems to lend credence to there being a Direct in April/May since they still need to announce things for July and August.

Assuming this is a genuine question, the point of DST is to maximize the amount of sunlight hours we get in a typical workday period (8:00am-5:00pm). We switch back and forth because the amount of sunlight we get changes with the seasons.
 
Now I'm remembering why I stopped playing Rune Factory 5 last Summer despite enjoying it; the days are much too long. 30 minutes at least.

But it doesn’t do that at all - during the time that DST is active we already have full sunlight from 8-5PM. Literally all DST does is move one hour of sunlight from before 8AM to after 5PM - which seems rather pointless since before long we have daylight well into the evening anyway. Especially in the summer I would much rather have the day’s peak heat be an hour earlier so things can be even a slim bit cooler by bedtime.

agree agree agree

Especially in my neck of the woods, in the summer months it's disgustingly hot even around 9-10pm, and anything I'm waiting for the cool of night to do (go out for a jog, work on a shop project, etc), gets pushed out. Being hot and sweaty when out with friends because it's still sunshine and hot at 9pm is just gross. It's gross to be hot and sweaty when lying in bed trying to sleep!

It's why I said earlier, it absolutely baffles me that the governments (in the States at least) who have talked about doing away with the rotation are electing to make DST permanent instead of actually doing away with DST itself. I don't want to be driving to work before sunrise in the winter months, and summer months don't need an extra hour of daylight because summer days are already longer!

It's so goofy!!
