It feels like a misguided attempt at Fromsoft storytelling with added anime cheese.
Was there really that much cheese? The other characters were barely there.

The cheesiest thing was that girl dying and then coming back as demon you could use in battle.

Honestly I got more involved with all the demons you meet on the sidequests.

"No Direct" would easily be the funniest possible outcome here. I don't think it would be worth the weeks of nail-biting anxiety about what that meant for the Switch 2 reveal, but it would still be funny.

Also, SMTV's narrative is sparse as can be, but I wouldn't say that that's because they were trying to emulate From, specifically.

That Tao scene sticks out in my mind for being strangely out of character for mainline.

The sidequest and demon writing is neat, the demons in V clearly had a lot of effort put in. Even the negotiation dialogue is super fun. But you can tell the Khonsu questline was something removed from the main story and the fairy village quests being necessary for the ending where you destroy all demons is baffling.

Yesh it really felt like the game was kinda falling apart near the end there.
I would have honestly welcomed one more area where you use that demon you get that was apparently supposed to be ridable?

I never really got the criticism that it's lacking on the dungeon department cause I really liked exploring the outside maps, they were just kinda lacking variety because they were differently coloured deserts wastelands.
It felt kinda inspired by Xenoblade there.

Has Pyoro tweeted anything lately?
The last comment he made didn't deconfirm claims of a third-party direct.

[In response to a question about a Partner Direct]: "I'm not aware of any imminent first party announcements atm"

So basically, "I don't know about first-party stuff", which is the primary stuff Pyoro tweets about anyway.

Hayataro was meant to be a mount you get at the start of the game as a throwback to Pascal from the first SMT game. In the final game you get him ridiculously underleveled before the final boss in the chaos route. Hilarious game.

The two dungeons we got were good, the problem was there is only two of them. SMT is a dungeon crawler series and 4 already felt lacking in that front. I do find the exploration in V fun, so I don't think it needs as many dungeons as Nocturne or something. Would have been more balanced if the first two maps ended with dungeons like the last two did.

Will we get a tweet in half an hour saying we're getting a Nintendo direct at 2pm UK? Who can say?

Well someone can, i just have literally no idea at this point because this hell company is vague at best and cryptic at worst.
nintendo the most unpredictable group in the world if not counting governments

Alright we’re all just waiting around. Final gut guesses. How long is it and how many games are there?
6 games total (or at least 6 announcements). 4 will be pre-existing titles that we have heard about, but two will be nice surprises. Pentiment will be a headlining title. The last title will be Xenosaga ports/remasters. Silksong, as usual, won't be there.

Oh wow I hadn't considered a Xenosaga remaster, that would actually be really hype!! Or even something Xenogears..

Honestly if you wanna go weird with some prediction, I would love a remake (Ridge Racer 4) or just collection of Ridge Racer games.
Years ago we had that linkedIN leak ... That they were working on a new game. Would love to see Ridge Racer again.

Just played it on a OG PS1 with a friend two weeks ago... And it holds up fantastically.

15 - 75 mins to go! This is it! We’re here!

Posting just before our first expected drop window since excitement is going to build up quick. I always considered You Will Know Our Names to be the theme of the party rather than the theme of fighting big bosses per se due to the title. We’re telling the boss, you’ll know our names! It’s all of the friends coming together then to defeat the boss with the power of friendship! I picked the Finale version from Xenoblade 3 of course because this is the finale of the thread!

Hope we have a great show to watch together shortly! It’s been awesome :)

My only main doubts about Xenosaga are that Monolith Soft might be doing "high-effort remasters" with Bamco. I genuinely don't know for now.

Oh, I also didn't mention the length. 20 minutes total, around 2-3 minutes per announcement. There'll also be a Square Enix title with a stupid title like "Quadwalk Kingdoms" or something equally moronic.

Taking the optimistic pessimist route today: setting my expectations for nothing, then expecting there to not be anything I care about if there is a presentation, so I can be happily surprised if there is.

Wait what’s this talk about 8 am est?
There has been some new leak?
There were rumblings but actually, I think the partners are always 9AM during the other daylight savings time, so if that pattern is followed it should be at 8AM today

i have no expectations, but i do have a mighty, eternal need. the dream isnt dead until its dead, koei tecmo and intelligent systems arent technically first party. nintendo published games have been featured before. keep the flame burning

I think I’m at 25 mins and 15 games for the question I posed earlier, but with rapid pace editing like the last partner direct it could be shorter. Really having a hard time gauging this one walking into it. The vibes for anything major are just so low. Hoping for some great stuff regardless though. If Penny is there as the shadowdrop (which wow it better be as the only one we all think is there lol) I’ll walk away happy enough I guess since I’m looking forward to it, but give me like three solid games and I’ll be happy. Surprise me.

8 minutes to go, dear Fami friends.

I'm stoked to see what the partners has up their sleeve!

7-8 hours to go! I’m excited to see what songs with the theme of partners and friends y’all pick :)

You know... I might just post what are some of the most beautiful minutes of my entire life.

15 games in 25 minutes is very ambitious unless a good few of the announcements are grouped together. That's less than 2 minutes per trailer, which, if I remember past Partner Showcases, is far from the case. Those bastards usually last 3-5 minutes each.

Join together from around the world to summon a little direct with big dreams carrying the weight of the Famiboards on its shoulders

This time "Partner Showcase" is literal.

It's just a list of logos for the companies Nintendo works with. Each one gets about five seconds and then they move on to the next one with a tacky PowerPoint slide transition.
