I know it's probably too late for it to be real, but I really wish the Monster Hunter Stories 2 DLC they were considering happened.Believe the only Switch content at Capcom is MoHun Sunbreak & a demo.
I’m asking myself “is this reasonable” or are we getting carried away lol. Might as well have high hopes and hype hahaOpener: New Fire Emblem
Highlights: Xenoblade 3, Splatoon 3, quick Live A Live mention maybe, Mario Kart Booster Pass
Mid-show: Prime HD reveal in the Metroid Dread slot, possible Prime 4 teaser instead of "development is progressing smoothly"
Late-show: Bayonetta 3 locked in for 2022/January 2023
2nd to last: Zelda (some combo of ports/BOTW 2/ports and BOTW 2, though this could easily end the show as well)
Closer: DK/Mario/a total surprise/Zelda segment is actually the closer which would also be more than fine
Directs are highly curated and visible presentations targeted to the general public vs. these actions that most folks aren't really aware of beyond the enthusiast gaming sphere and/or are related to the legal side of the company. I think they care more about negative reception to something they actively decide to show at a Direct, e.g. the reaction to Federation Force.Could be completely wrong here, but I feel like Nintendo doesn’t care what we think about things like this. They don’t care about making us mad with cancelling Smash tourneys and shutting down fan projects and taking down thousands of music tracks.
You could argue that showing off Zelda would overshadow Nintendo's other offerings, but you could also make the case that Zelda brings in a lot of people that normally wouldn't care to see what Nintendo is doing. I have no idea what the best strategy is business-wise, but I do know that E3 is normally the time where we see 3D Zelda updates.Yeah but it was the final E3 before Switch launch, and aside from 3DS stuff Nintendo didn't really have anything else to show.
I still hope though, and personally I'm sure it's going to be at the Direct, along with Zelda WWHD+TPHD
That would be wonderful. As much as I’m hoping for a blowout in June, I’d honestly love to see anything at all.Directs are highly curated and visible presentations targeted to the general public vs. these actions that most folks aren't really aware of beyond the enthusiast gaming sphere and/or are related to the legal side of the company. I really do think the launch timing update earlier this year was to get the news out of the way and establish expectations. Despite that, they still showed a few seconds of new footage. This is speculation, but I think they are itching to at least share the title of this game sooner, maybe in a trailer this Direct, and then have a blowout later in the year.
All of those platforms and still no Switch SMH. lolstolen from the comments:
By who? Some never satisfied people? Overall the 2019 E3 direct was very well received and I thought people were more or less understandable for the delay. The animal crossing e3 delay announcement got horrible reception
I mean, it's only two weeks difference. I don't expect that to be a big deal or change things much. There being a pretty short gap presumably between the June and September Directs (which reasonably could happen anytime once Splatoon 3 is out) has definitely colored how much info can be expected from the next one. I can see the September one end up delivering the bigger announcements this year.
You delay the game outside of the presentation that is designed to excite your fan base. Obviously they have learned from that mistakeBy who? Some never satisfied people? Overall the 2019 E3 direct was very well received and I thought people were more or less understandable for the delay.
I mean what should they have done differently? When you have to delay a game, you need to say that at some point in time.
stolen from the comments:
Yeah it will be a hard wait if its not shown until September. But I really think they will show something on the 28/29. Its been about a year already since E3 2021 and I believe they said in the coming months to year they will show more news. I expect at least a short teaser and title drop, and will be satisfied with that. But a blowout is likely, or show something now and then have the main trailer in September.Ok, so I was all certain that BoTW2 was going to make an appearance at the June Direct, but then something occurred to me.
It got a “delay reveal” in March. Why couldn’t they have just saved the new release date for the June Direct?
Remember, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was scheduled for a 2019 release prior to the E3 2019 Direct, and then the Direct gave a new, delayed release date: March 20, 2020.
It didn’t get a “delay reveal” trailer in March 2019 prior to E3, like BoTW2 did in 2022.
…which makes me fear that they revealed the delay in March so that they could go silent in June about the game, without widespread panic of “it’s coming out in 2022, why isn’t the game here?!”
Now they don’t have to show it in the coming Direct… they could save it for September.
———
Before you say, “why would that be a problem? Who cares if it’s in June versus September; we will see it eventually?”
…I would say you are a lot more patient and wise than I am. Because I REALLY want to see this game in the Direct on the 28th.
Lol I know right? E3 2021 was a bit of an outlier with so many new game announcements, but let's use it as a reference since it's our most recent summer showcase. There were 4 new 1st-party games and a new Smash character reveal:I’m asking myself “is this reasonable” or are we getting carried away lol. Might as well have high hopes and hype haha
Do y’all realize how hyped we would be right now if insiders hadn’t put us out of our misery
The TO:R leak would’ve had us going “oh yeah DEFINITELY the 15th”
You forgot Front Mission 1 & 2 remakes but I forgive you. It seems everyone's forgetting that my beloved SRPG series is getting gorgeous remakes...Square Enix have so much games in the pipelines they're working with half of the japanese developers at this point lol

If it's the 29th in the US then it'll be after the next investors meetingCan anyone provide me some reassurance that the 28th is more likely than the 29th? I won't be able to watch it live if it's the 29th
That is true, even though this is a bit of different case with Zelda. Anyway just wanted to say that there was in no way a "horrible" reception to the delay at E3 2019.You delay the game outside of the presentation that is designed to excite your fan base. Obviously they have learned from that mistake
I'm actually pretty interested in those, since I've never played them. Do we have a date for the first one yet? I don't recallYou forgot Front Mission 1 & 2 remakes but I forgive you. It seems everyone's forgetting that my beloved SRPG series is getting gorgeous remakes...
Currently targeted for the summer but this is a Forever Ent remake, expect this to miss its date by a couple of months. I'd say late fall.I'm actually pretty interested in those, since I've never played them. Do we have a date for the first one yet? I don't recall

Yeah I'll wait on reviews, since there's a chance it'll be terrible. A decent job though and I'll probably pick it up, it does look interestingCurrently targeted for the summer but this is a Forever Ent remake, expect this to miss its date by a couple of months. I'd say late fall.
Forever is also doing second games of Panzer Dragoon and House of Dead so I'm hoping they're currently prioritizing FM remake.
I was asleep when info was apparently going down, does someone mind giving me a quick rundown of any new FE tidbits? I went looking through the past pages but it's all over the place. Please and thank you
Ah, found it. Thank you!Check page 200 of this thread.
There’s an Assassin’s Creed anniversary stream this week and Mario + Rabbids 2 will get another showing + release date reveal in the direct.Have we heard a peep from Ubisoft this summer? I know Geoff mentioned that some publishers would defer to other showcases instead of holding their own due to the feedback from last year, but I don't remember them having anything all June.

Forever is actually very good on remaking games, both Panzer and House of the Dead quite impressed me.I hope you'll get a release date in the direct
I've never played the series but I'm quite interested, it'll depend of the price I guess
If we look at everything from Nintendo at E3 2019Lol I know right? E3 2021 was a bit of an outlier with so many new game announcements, but let's use it as a reference since it's our most recent summer showcase. There were 4 new 1st-party games and a new Smash character reveal:
- Kazuya
- Mario Party Superstars
- Metroid Dread
- WarioWare: Get It Together
- Advance Wars
Smash is effectively a slot that could always be used for another game announcement, as far as the amount of time it takes up. Now that Smash is done, I'm personally expecting to get at least 3 new game announcements (one being Prime HD, another likely being Fire Emblem) and another BOTW 2 showing. The list I wrote out is definitely dreaming big, but I don't think the number of new announcements we're hoping for, whether they're MP4, Nintendogs, or something in between, is too unreasonable haha

Went digging through my old stuff and found this on page 39-- wowza this thread got big quickly. In other news, I had a dream last night where Nintendo had a June direct and announced a Splatoon rhythm/music game. It was pretty dope ngl
