give me a good reason why I can't walk into a McN and order a Super sized Nintendies combo with Maxim Tomato ketchup, Lon Lon Ranch dressing, an extra large Cucco Cola, and a slice of Peach's Cake for dessert

Hey all, I am moving soon and I need a new TV… any recommendations for good ones for gaming on? (Preferably ones that won’t break the bank please… I’d rather not spend more than like… $500-$600… and even less than that would be amazing…)

Your best bet is checking Rtings for their recommendations here

My pup was up and about at 3:30 AM this morning and basically refused to go back to sleep. I am completely dragging today.

I opened up Instagram on my phone, and at first my screen was a NintendoAmerica ad with the Switch logo clicking, but then I blinked and must have missed the refresh because all of a sudden the Halo theme is playing with the teaser emblem for the new season starting January 30th.

Y'all the roller coaster of emotions I felt in that split second have given me whiplash just because the official Halo account showed up next and I feel a physical pit in my stomach and lump in my throat for the way the universe mocked me for believing in Halo on Switch 😭

Seconding RTings, they do wonderful work that's highly detailed, and have plenty of tools available to help you identify the best screen size for your living room based on how far away you'll be sitting

So while I continue to get annoyed and confused by CR messing up an order and being impossible to reach, here's a fun batch of stuff that did make it in today(good deal on arc and Medabots, Psybuster I wanted to grab before it went out of print because I don't have high hopes of a BR release anytime soon)

Tho I'm super frustrated by CR CS right now, where in the heck is my HG Scopedog and why haven't gainer or Layzner shipped DX if it was easier to cancel I would've just reordered the last 2 with these. Sigh well time for some game time

Asajj Ventress

is BACK, folks!

I still need to watch season 2… and maybe rewatch season one. Oh and Ashoka

that’s as “fun and cheeky” as a corporate automailer that mislogged my forename as a slur

Ooooo ok I'm sorry that happened to you and for reminding you of a bad memory with my actions :(
what?? lmao

no i don’t give a shit, nothing is funnier and more baldfaced than a pathetic branded email that says “Hi, ***!”

all I was saying is that happy holidays — most accurate by far — gives me hives because I hate the holidays. and “to those who celebrate” gives me hives because I’ve heard that mostly in bad corporate emails.

they both have their uses, I just feel like puking a little when I hear them

Ok, this is where my naivety is showing as I didn't recognize what forename meant and thought it was something on the level of being deadnamed had happend.

I osmosed appending "to those who celebrate" for random events when joking around with friends because it's a fairly bland and unuseful dislaimer that's amusing to me when attached to the most banal of activities.

I personally find the winter holidays to be stressful and honestly I've been pretty meh on celebrating my own birthday for a while so reminding people that not everyone enjoys or celebrates those things feels cheeky to me.

"happy holidays" was invented because at some point someone was so concerned with someone saying "oh I don't celebrate Christmas" and being frozen like a deer in the headlights not knowing how to respond to that that they had to come up with something else.

I thought it was to try and be inclusive of all the other religious/cultural holidays around the same timeframe without assuming on a person-by-person basis what their beliefs may be.

Which is why conservatives are so angry about any usage of it.

Nah, the whole inclusivity angle is a false narrative, because if someone (or a corporation) really meant "happy holidays", they wouldn't deck everything out in just red and green and Christmas bows and Santa Claus.

To this day I've only ever seen one usage of "happy holidays" where it was meant with sincerity, and that's the (dunno if it's still there) holiday fireworks show at Disneyland, where they not only play Christmas music but the dreidel song.

The phrase itself has been used in America for at least 150 years. AFAIK, it wasn't designed to be inclusive or exclusive, just sort of...an alternative?

Well either way, what I'm actually concerned about is what that Suika Game update was

Just finished another daily workout. Things went as smooth as usual until I got to the weights. I went all the way to 90 pulls non-stop, then I felt a little cramp in my abdomen and I rested for a few seconds. Then, I went back and immediately felt pain and I had to stop. I was feeling a wicked bad cramp for a few minutes, but it felt like an eternity! Note to self: when you feel some unusual pain, just stop for the day....

I mean happy holidays is comparatively good and less creepy than Merry Christmas

I just despise the winter holidays

it got co-opted by corporations like every banal phrase, but for real, it wasn’t out of nowhere. it was deliberate because shocker, the christmas crowd was being shitty.

also
can’t we just enjoy that it’s not December any more and stop this madness

I am sorry for contributing to this discourse with snarky jokes

I want the ride to stop now. I am disembarking.

I'll never understand people who say theres nothing on netflix to watch.

How about you expand your world, learn to read and start watching more international shows. Even start going down the korean rabbit hole.

My dad is constantly saying this, and it baffled me. Then I watch him try to find stuff to watch on Netflix and seeing him navigate that system is just painful and it starts to make more sense.

I realized I never find anything to watch by browsing, it's just a bunch of noise that way. Only shows and movies I find is because I heard about it by either a creator or blog I follow, or friends tell me about it, and then I manually search for them. Basically the only thing keeping me from being totally overwhelmed by choice anxiety on streaming platforms is the fact that I'm a nerd and actively follow tv/film media. If I didn't then I'd probably be all "I can't find anything to watch" too 😅
