the game’s going well, but very early! still wrapping my head around different approaches to coding games. you can walk around, but the battles need work. and I’m learning plenty as I go.

wish I had physical media for you, but it costs a lot of money to do a run. if a lot more people were interested, or I had a larger audience, I could consider it —but a lot of people would have to want it for me to break even, let alone try to make up some of the costs from the vet right now.

if it happens, it would be a while down the road. maybe a haunted box set some day once the next albums are out, who knows.

So I thought it would release on august 10th. But maybe it is about the music? Like I said, I'm so unfamiliair with digital music lol, I have no idea how this works.

Yeah that's for the album, it just automatically puts the date you uploaded the music files.

I love that Grögol Bonanza — which started in the ancestor of this thread as a shitpost — has been so woven into this community. it’s still early, but it feels alive, and there’s so much of this thread woven through it. thank you all for helping me run with that spark.

if this goes against our community rules, please feel free to scrap it. But if anyone that was already thinking about it wants to… I’d appreciate it.

Konami didn't do many Batman games but they did do Batman Returns, an important part of my childhood. With nostalgia goggles, I can say it was the best Batman game ever. But I'm not sure that alone would warrant a whole collection. Sunsoft's Batman lineup was bigger.

Konami sure will continue their "Master Collection" lineup but I think next year will have MGS Vol 2, Castlevania PS2, Silent Hill 1-2-3 and Suikoden 3-4 (after 1-2). Goemon needs a full remake I think, or at least a little touch up.

I stumbled upon this board through a Twitter conversation linking the hardware thread. I spend most of my time on this forum over there, but I occasionally hang around the General and Direct threads and I even made my own thread for avatar betting. Honestly, I like it here, even though we get super reactionary at times and have had our share of arguments.

I participated in a forum in over 15 years back in the KH-Vids forums. I remember doing role-plays and I once held a joke contest, good times.

You obviously haven't because they've been having Elmo become more of an unhinged goblin lately. Youtube "Elmo vs Rocco" if you need either a laugh or a cringe (depending on how you react to muppets getting pissed off)
 
I keep going back and forth on if I should pick up Mario Wonder. I'll be honest, I have never bought a 2D Mario on Day 1. The first mainline Mario game I ever got on my own (meaning not as a gift) was 3D World. Which I really enjoyed. I also really liked Odyssey. I started playing through Mario Galaxy and Bowser's Fury on Switch but I haven't completed either. Not really because of the games themselves. Just the usual life stuff happens and then I just kind of forgot to return to them.

The 2D Mario's haven't really clicked for me yet but what I see in Wonder does look fun. But also, Star Ocean 2 and Mario RPG come out a few weeks later and those might distract me from completing Wonder.

Elmo vs Rocco was years ago. I think that was even pre-Julia.

Elmo's pretty chilled out now

I'm on the fence about buying it as well. I'd like to play it with my wife, but I don't know if we'd have the patience to finish it. I played through Kirby Star Allies with her, but then I bought Forgotten Land and RTDLDX when those came out and she lost interest. She's interested in Mario Wonder but idk if I wanna drop $60 on something we get like halfway through.

I'm kinda in a similar boat as you re: Mario games, I got 3D World with my Wii U but didn't get very far, borrowed Odyssey from a friend and finished it, finished SMB1 on NSO with save states, finished 3D Land, and dicked around a little with 3D All-Stars. I'm not really a Mario guy and don't have the sauce/juice to finish most of them

Oh man, I remember doing a forum role-play back in high school, like 20 years ago. I think it was the GameWinners forums, although I could be wrong.

It was a Chrono Trigger role-play, run by someone who RPd as Lucca. I honestly don't remember anyone else, but I remember I RPd as a robot of the same line as Robo. I also distinctly remember writing a scenario where I fell in a pit, got my robot body super fucked up, and was given a new one that looked like a wolf furry from some supernatural force. My friend drew a picture of it that I kinda wish I still had.

thank you for the thousandth time to everyone who’s been supportive about our cat. we got to see him a little bit today to transfer him to a 24-hour vet (which uh, cost another two months rent)

happy to report that even though he is very beleaguered and struggling, he’s still the world’s sweetest ham and loves to complain

he had lots to say about the IV port in his arm (he’s not a fan)

I’m just glad he’s up and about despite everything, but we still have a long ways to go.

I'm looking forward to the review threads, but Spider-Man 2, as a $70 game, unfortunately already has greater prestige than Super Mario Bros. Wonder. How could our beloved Nintendo undervalue our childhood IP like this? $60 is an insult. How deep is the rot?

Actually damn, two changes to this:

1. Princess Peach Showtime. That and Eiyuden Chronicle. Are the only games I can remember even being slated for next year. 😅

2. Actually now that I've thought about it I don't think the abyss is inky black, I think it is a haunting explosion of deep, rich color and glittering sparks all swirling towards a singular point, basically just like the path to the Sea of Stars.

I'm planning me and my brother's trip to Tokyo, on two different occasions I see a place name appear and think "Oh yeah that place is in Persona 5R"

After reading Site Feedback and Suggestions, I saw that there was a few post voicing how neat it would be with LTTP and RTTP ST's, and I would gladly take the initiative to create those, should interest prevail.

It would simply be threads where people can post impressions and reflections in the more longer-form way that these threads usually contain, and of course there will be room for people to comment each other's impressions and reflections.

Any more thoughts on this?
