Their newer tga reveals do have more content than the wii u ones.

2013 - Cranky Kong
2014 - Breath Of The Wild Gameplay Reveal
2015 - Nothing?
2016 - Breath Of the Wild Trailer
2014 actually had way more than just BotW.
It had a new Mario Maker trailer that revealed World and SMB3 themes, Codename STEAM and probably some other thing I forgot. Desperate Wii U 2014 Nintendo was crazy.

I would guess that, going into 2022 and with signs pointing to a strong year, we're more likely to get a Nintendo-published title announced, but I certainly wouldn't expect to see one of Nintendo's heavy-hitters. Nothing new from internal development or their subsidiaries, though I wouldn't rule out a Zelda trailer.

For a new game reveal, it'll either be something Nintendo publish in some regions of the world, or something from an external studio. Personally I'm now sort of hoping for something completely out of left-field instead of one of the 'sensible' picks (like Prime HD, which will be revealed in a matter of time). What property could Nintendo pick up, or what studio could they work with, that really surprises us?

it’s best to forget about almost everything so that when interesting things happen, they’re fun surprises

and I’m not even talking about video games, I forgot what the hiccups were this morning and had a clear moment of terror as my neck seemingly rejected my head
|ST3| What the fuck are hiccups?!

Hey my cheap 26 dollar copy of bravely default 2 arrived today. Into the backlog you go while I play catch up on something’s.

Price was too good to pass up.

So no more Resident Evil on Switch?

I’m going to cry :(
Not really. Is just that it was mistaken, Outrage was actually some multiplayer game, and not the title of the Revelations 3 that was being made with the Switch in mind.
Development of RE games are kinda messy in terms of what's pitched and how it turns out. I remember Dusk tweets where he said the project were VIllage came from was at first the one that was Rev 3 and that the Rev 3 was referred to as RE8 at some point. Just like the early development RE4 turned into DmC.
So I take it as he mistook the Outrage game that was coming to other consoles and was a multiplayer game with the whatever turns out to be the 3rd person horror Switch timed exclusive RE game.

Resident Evil Revelations 3 and Prime Remaster to boost Dread sales during the holidays and that's it. Maybe a Triangle Strategy trailer a la Bravely default 2.
That's Nintendo's TGA, thanks for coming
Sorry but if they show Prime Remaster I'll be even more excited than a potential BotW2 trailer. I mean seeing how the Metroid Prime world would look remade/reworked by Retro and having spent that much time will be something hype as hell moreso because it's one of the most acclaimed games of all time with a 97 MC. And the better part is the potential to see a teaser of MP4 alongside that.

I have various games in my backlog that Icould clear…

Or I could also buy another visual novel set in rural Japan during the hot summer months to play late at night in bed…

Decisions.

I've actually thrown out my back from a hiccup in the past. It's intensely painful for me for some reason, I have that "I wanna die" feeling.

If you ever see a car stopped in traffic periodically shake very lightly that's probably me with the hiccups, it's car shakingly bad.

Anybody else look at their shelf of new games and then go, hmmmmm, I’m going to replay a Zelda/Mario/Whatever game I beat twenty times already…

So that explains everything. Thank you for the explanation Nate.

I'll be referring to the rumored Switch RE as Revelations 3 from now on, hope it's still coming.
RE Switch (and RE developments in general) are a complex matter to keep straight. Projects change or evolve into other things, some concepts from a project are merged, etc.

RE Switch has been a difficult project to stay informed on top of.

I’ll be sure to ask next time I’m holding a mushroom at gunpoint and asking it the name of god
The mushroom's reaction:

okay technically I would call myself TeamAppleSucks because of Foxconn and the Uighur crisis but by that token Nintendo also sucks and that's not really a conversation suitable for this thread
ST3: Everyone Sucks (But Oh Look There's A Sale On The eShop)

I manage to beat all the major Nintendo releases I get as they come out so I’m happy in that regards even with major backlog

Speaking of gotta decide what jrpg to do next, I should make a poll. Tho for the moment I’m working on super robot wars X and Hardcore Mecha this week

What is the “incinerating horse” thing?

I know the horse comes from Emily’s stinky horse game, but where did the incineration get roped in?

I started a conversation about horse incinerators long before any stink was involved, due to working on a game in which there may be a horse incinerator / having a weirdly specific anecdote about horse incinerators

so now it’s my sacred duty to mention them once every couple weeks

No.

So the rumored RE Switch, which was believed to be Rev3, is unrelated to Outrage.
Phew, I panicked a bit when I heard to forget about Outrage. RE Switch, nebulous as it is, is something I am incredibly keen and hopeful for. Thanks so much for the update.

Understanding completely if you can't answer, can we expect RE Switch to still happen eventually?

Honestly, I don't know. I've heard mixed on things on it. A few months ago (around E3) I had heard it was cancelled, then heard it was still a thing; but all my info avenues related to it have gone silent in recent months.

My hope is that an exclusive RE Switch happens -- be it the rumored Revelations 3 game or a new, unknown RE project for Switch.

Thanks for the clarification, really appreciate it. I'm gonna try and stay optimistic and hope it happens as well, I really enjoyed the Revelations games and RE4 is my favourite game of all time so a new RE for Switch would be a dream come true.

Really excited about Square's legacy pipeline. Beyond Chrono Cross, it seems they are working on :
  • Final Fantasy Tactics remaster
  • Final Fantasy IX remake
  • Tactics Ogre Remaster
All coming rather soon
Im still confused on them releasing ff9 remake before all the FF7 remake parts get released

Speaking of Resident Evil, I wonder if the RE4 remake will be cross-gen or a current gen (PS5, Series X/S) exclusive? I'd love to see what Capcom's RE engine can do with that kind of console power.
RE8 gives a taste of what RE engine can do on PS5/XS and it's pretty stunning. The materials, lighting, environments and characters look superb, all while running at 60fps.

I imagine that not, going foward, RE4 Remake, RE9 and future RE titles will be current gen exclusive.

The one entry that (by Capcom hack) is cross-gen, though that things can change, is Street Fighter VI.

That's true. Resident Evil games starting as one thing and ending up as a total different thing is something very usual. Insiders knowing about one project and that turning into a complete different game is something that might happen. I mean, Resident Evil 4 got so different from what was planned that its early development ideas turned into DmC. I'm pretty sure that has happened again over and over, moreso now that the franchise is divided in the main numbered games(VII, VIllage), remakes and the Revelations games. A game starting as one thing and Capcom thinking it's best suited as another thing must be common.
