Like I'm sorry, but a ROM dump coming to a poor service is a terrible TGA announcement. I don't care how legendary Goldeneye is, the original release did not age well, especially with a superior remaster existing.
Wonder if the fog will be broken for the cherry on top

Gotta remember that it will have online multiplayer for the first time. That's huge, regardless of how crap the service may or may not be.
?

What indicates that theyll show goldeneye there, and furthermore, that that’s all they’ll show?
Nothing is indicating it, it's just a gut feeling.

SOMEONE (would have had to have been the publisher of the work, therefore Nintendo) got it removed from Germany's list of media that was deemed harmful to minors. Being delisted from that usually happens like 25-30 years or something after publication by default, but this one was an active removal.

Here's a Eurogamer link for you.

Huh, I have been so busy with SMTV I actually forgot that TGA is next week. I genuinely don't know what to expect for Switch. Apparently RE Switch is no a show?

At this point, I think an indie game, maybe a 3rd party exclusive similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance and No More Heroes 3 and possibly...Botw 2.

I could see MH Sunbreak but it might be too early since it won't release until Summer.

TGA typical has 2 - 3 announcements for Switch.

I feel like some of you are getting real angry about the potential of a Goldeneye announcement at the TGAs as if it was confirmed even though right now it's just pure speculation from random people on a message board. Basically getting upset for no reason whatsoever.

Good, I’m not ready for the pessimism yet I have hopes 😭 TGA the past couple years has been meh but 2022 seems to be looking like a good year for all three so I’m really hoping they pull through

Fatigue's kicking my ass so I'm not posting much lately. However, I did do Halo Reach over the weekend and I've picked up Phantasy Star IV again today. The last few bosses felt like a massive difficulty spike, but I've just done the boss in the Garuberk Tower and that was a pretty straightforward one so hopefully things stay straight and narrow.

Hope we're all having fun and keeping well.

I take credit for being the first to predict this “insulting” prediction.

I just think it’s small and neat enough to fit in what Nintendo would do outside of their directs.

Resident Evil Switch is real because it supposedly has Rebecca as protagonist just like Resident Evil Zero which was a Nintendo exclusive for over a decade, this logic makes sense trust me

Im pretty sure Nintendo wants to show Bayonetta 3 in some form. The game is suited for the TGA audience. And i guess we will see something from Nintendos internal studios as a replacement for Smash reveals (hopefully Botw2…)

Resident Evil Revelations 3 and Prime Remaster to boost Dread sales during the holidays and that's it. Maybe a Triangle Strategy trailer a la Bravely default 2.
That's Nintendo's TGA, thanks for coming

Played catch up on the thread. @Derachi it was an honour having you as captain

Not sure if it's the exact same issue, but oddly when I was playing Mario Party Superstars on Sunday I had some issued with Joycons disconnecting randomly throughout playing Horror Land. The two pro controllers in use didn't have issue, but my right Orange joy con in the grip handle disconnected once and my right Mario Odyssey joycon disconnected twice in split hand usage (I was also closest to my Switch; it was just behind the TV). Full batteries on both, and I slid them back into the Switch dock rail to reconnect but they'd still disconnect. Very peculiar and I really hope this is not a new issue I have to contend with having four separate sets of joycons.

This warms the cockles of my heart, congrats @curl-6! Stories like this remind me of the good that gaming is capable of in bringing people together 🤗

Had I more skill in creating GIFs, I'd want to replace Geoff's face in this one for the announcement

I have not seen this before but bloody hell Hank Hill is absolutely a deadringer for Douglas Jay Falcon 😂😂

Not terribly sure either, but it is a source of small comfort to me knowing that if I have to walk through existential dread having turned 30 almost two months ago, I don't necessarily have to do it alone 😋 At the very least 1991 was a good year for some very sexy people to have been born ahaha

God, I really want to jump in on SMTV, but there's a certain fear of not knowing enough to get involved for the fifth entry in the series, and also much like you caught in a rock and a hard place of ready to set down MH Rise having grinded as much as I can tolerate to get to rank 8 and yet knowing I haven't yet experimented nearly enough with the depths of the combat system to progress enough to actually see the story to conclusion even if I don't hop on the online event quests.

That being said it is a very promising review you offer, and hell if I can reduce my backlog even a smidgen I'll look to pick it up in the near future!

You better believe this was a critical foundation song to my playlist on Spotify entitled 'The fresh, angsty Hell that is turning 30' lol

Hell yeah, this is the first time I've ever played an SMT game and I knew nothing about the previous entries. There's no required knowledge and the tutorials and instructions are very clear. I think it's definitely a beginner-friendly experience! It's just really difficult until you really understand the combat system and the essence system and demon fusion systems!

It existed (may still exist in some form).

People in the thread are right in that Outrage was a multiplayer thing.
Yeah, no. It might have a multiplayer mode but Capcom's internal expectations on Outrage as too high for it being a MP game :

They are expecting over 3m from the game in its launch quarter, 5m+ after a few years with a budget around Y50m and the same expected income revenue that RE4R (pre-reboot).

I agree that the project is still very nebulous (which would led credence to TOSE being involved) but I firmly believe it exists. Just like for Monster Hunter, Capcom will want to have two lines for Resident Evil with the shift to 1st person view leaving some fans on the side (especially in Japan/Asia).

Here's a good summary of the rumors so far for the people interested : https://biohazardcast.com/resident-evil-outrage-might-just-be-outrageous/

Mario Rabbids 2 release date + third party esclusive are my bet for Nintendo a TGA. A First party reveal/ trailer would be dope, thou

My only prediction for TGA is Silksong. If the Nvidia leak's release date isn't just a placeholder then TGA is the perfect time for a release date trailer.

I look forward to my inevitable disappointment when it doesn't show up.

I thought I also mentioned I didn’t feel Outrage was a revelation single player type game as well. But looks like I didn’t.

Nevermind. Tho if it’s multiplayer, might not come to switch anyways. Maybe the new switch tho
will the game even survived until Dane Switch's launch?

What are the other four?

I think mine would probably be BOTW, Odyssey, Celeste, Three Houses, and Dread, but Hades is politely knocking on the door asking to join the party and everyone is kinda looking back and forth at each other because nobody can really think of a reason not to let them in

Hades is certainly the cool cousin of my top 5 games.

My T5GOTS™®, in order, are:

1. Xenoblade Chronicles 2
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
3. Shin Megami Tensei V
4. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
5. Metroid Dread

Those five games span my favorite types of gameplay.

Honestly, Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a more complex and deep tactical experience than M+RKB, but the joy I felt playing M+RKB and seeing the perfect translation of the Mario characters into one of my favorite genres - in addition to all the unexpected laughs - helped Mario + Rabbids win out.

Dear the part of my brain that gets fixated on things,

No you don’t need to be going down the retro-upscalers rabbit hole this week. Really you don’t.

Signed,
The rest of shop’s brain
Real talk, I can see a multiplatform Persona 5 announcement there. It's rumored to come to Gamepass.
I’d believe a multi platform release if we had P4G at this point on any modern system.

But P5 is the last game I’m waiting on to break the PS4 lock so I can finally have a real talk with my brain about going back to just PC + Nintendo again

Weirdness surrounding RE: Revelations 3 - Outrage 1.537 {A Fragmentary Dropkick} for the Nintendo Switch Definitive Edition' aside, the weirdest thing about the upcoming Game Awards so far is...the lack of rumours in general? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only rumoured thing so far is the Chrono Cross remaster / remake of all things.

Thats not a tga rumor its from the NVidia leak of future game releases.

What I remember hearing about that leaked email was that it was referring to Outrage stuff (costumes/enemies/characters?) coming to their GAAS multiplayer RE, RE: Verse (I think that's the one?). RE Outrage itself was supposedly indeed RE Revelations 3.

Oh, this is nothing compared to the general sour reaction when GoldenEye doesn't even get referenced at all at the TGAs nor the December update 😂

Honestly that's fantastic. In a sense I'm also worried I'd have the same experience with Xenoblade that the tutorials could get kinda bloated really quick trying to maintain an encyclopaedic knowledge of all the combat arts and gems and battle strategies and whatnot, but honestly as long as the explanations are clear I think I could see myself enjoying it a great deal

Maybe I’m not reading the sarcasm, but are some people really upset at the idea that Goldeneye for NSO might be a reveal at TGA? It’s not like it’s taking the place of another announcement, that’s not how it works. If Nintendo wants to show something else, they will (as Emily said, Geoff needs Nintendo more than they need him).

Thats not a tga rumor its from the NVidia leak of future game releases.

Sure, the first original mention was in the big Nvidia leak; however the connection to the Game Awards started with the Irish singer interview who mentioned the remake of a game originally released on PlayStation, then people (seemingly) correctly guessing Mitsuda's involvment, and then other evidences showed up.

I'm fuzzy on the details, when was the last time that nintendo showed more than 1 thing at the TGA's

I think it's more the idea of being upset that it'll be the only reveal at TGA. I mean, like @Derachi said earlier, Geoff is a swell guy, passionate about his work and the industry as a whole, wants support from all three big players and he wouldn't want another Cranky Kong reveal/corresponding reaction...but, this is Nintendo we're talking about.

Pessimism as a general baseline response when it comes to expecting anything of Nintendo shields the pain a little; you're either right or pleasantly surprised.

Xenoblade 2 has some of the worst tutorials in gaming

Some stuff is outright misleading
