Nintendo should implement online only DRM. And a laser cannon should the device detect that someone's trying to hack it.

I mean, that laser cannon could come in handy in other ways, too.

Kid that has been grounded without smartphone or consoles picks up the Switch, laser cannon pops out and an AI voice says: "You're not allowed to play. Put the Switch down, wahoo!"

Not in this tone, young one. You're this close to getting laser cannon grounded!

So we still thinking a September direct is coming even after getting the Mario direct?
Yep. I think this Mario direct is purely so they can show off more of the game before it’s playable at Nintendo Live in Seattle. The proper direct will be in a few weeks.

Okay, betting time:
Which game will we see more of first:
Silksong or Metroid Prime 4?

And, which will release first?
Silksong, Metroid Prime 4 or Sony's Wolverine?
Metroid Prime 4
Metroid Prime 4, Wolverine, Silksong (yes I'm pessimistic about Silksong)

I don't mean specifically this September direct or even this year, any point in the future counts.
Unless you mean that MP4 will be vaporware and that silksong will shadowdrop after not showing anywhere else.
Oh I thought you meant at the next direct.

Then probably Sliksong, I feel like it's a good candidate to release early next year or maybe summer, while MP4 is probably Fall next year or later. And they like to hold back stuff until closer to release.

I don't hate Origami King, let alone dislike it. It was only as good as new Paper Mario can be.

I used to be frustrated, but now I'm just disappointed Paper Mario moved on without me. So, I've moved on from Paper Mario. I've found peace.

Echoing this, learning to let go of certain franchises has done wonders for my enjoyment of the hobby. And the cool thing is that even if they’ve moved on, the old games you do like are still there and there’s often another developer who is peddling a similar experience you can enjoy too.

For sure, like I still will get TTYD HD if/when it releases just because it's a lot more accessible to play on modern hardware, but just the same there are games like Bug Fables that can scratch an itch that Nintendo no longer reaches.

soundtrack good tho
Seconded. I'm not some kind of lil bitch-ass hater that hates all willy-nilly. A true hater can still appreciate when the subject of the hating does something well.

And that sequence above was done extremely well.

Maybe they shifted indie world as this month was such a packed month for indies and having even more would be.... too much.

I can't wait until Silksong comes out and a bunch of people on the Xitter bitch and moan about it costing $20.

Tomorrow:

"Dearest, the Battle of the Starfield Reviews Thread rages on. We struck first with a Metacritic score of 96. We thought it would be a sweeping victory but the other side hit back with an 8.7. Clearly, the other side's fanboy have infiltrated the media but we will not let that deter us. We will win the day in the end! Starfield is ours and those other fanboys shall never claim it! They're just finally jealous of us!"

Meanwhile, on the Nintendo front:

"MOTHERFUCKING DAISY IS BACK! BUT WHERE THE HELL WAS ROSALINA, NINTENDO?! WHERE IS SHE?!"

When has a Direct been announced 48 hours early in recent memory?
Haha, I wouldn't know, Directs are usually two nights' worth of sleep away for my time zone anyway

Is it supposed to be pronounced like... "shitter"

They're clearly holding the next Indie World back for Silksong news 🤡😭
Serious talk, maybe it's Xbox that will showcase Silksong? I remember them promoting Silksong for Gamepass or something like that.

Dearest, the Battle of the Starfield Reviews Thread rages on
Oh boy
