Okay gotcha, good to know. What I was seeing was graphs and stuff that showed, I think the number of antibodies present after one month and then six months, and the six months number was way down. But again, I'm possibly totally misunderstanding (or the stuff I was seeing was totally misleading). My main concern is that I live with my dad, who already has respiratory problems, so if either of us catch covid it'd be bad. And I'm now the only person I know who hasn't got it yet. Tryina keep it that way. And I still mask up and such, but I'm always the only person in any building with one (again, almost every local business around here had no-masking signs on their doors when covid started spreading, this place is a danger zone), but I have seen stuff about how masks stop the person wearing one from spreading, not so much stop the person wearing one from receiving. So I'm just.. like, really needing those vaccines to kick some ass, since I can't stay unemployed and hide at home foreverThat’s not true at all. If we knew the vaccines were losing their effectiveness that quickly, we would be pushing for semi-annual vaccinations.
That might be a misunderstanding of what “effectiveness” means for a COVID vaccine. The vaccine does not make you totally immune from infection/reinfection. Its most important effect is that it greatly decreases the risk of getting severe infection and needing hospitalization. The new bivalent vaccines can decrease those nasty complications in otherwise healthy adults by up to 85%! And for that reason I highly recommend getting the updated vaccines.
If your goal is to avoid getting COVID, as I’ve mentioned, proper hygiene, wearing masks and social distancing are still the most optimal methods. Which is why it’s a shame that people have stopped being vigilant (also part of the reason why we’re getting new strains still).
It's this one:I only partially know the reference but am completely delighted
