That hypothetical 2022 looks fire, but without 3D Mario/DK I still can't bring myself to say it'll top 2017...

But man, 2022 has such amazing potential already. Not just on the Nintendo front, but with games like Horizon, Ragnarok, etc.
 
So in 2020 and 2021 the pandemic had the industry holding the hose squeezed shut, and 2022 is the year they let go and we get like four times the normal water pressure for a second?
 
Just sitting here racking up lives in 1-2 on 3D World in preparation for the postgame

The 1-up sound is really annoying after a few minutes of it!

a sage person would apologize for the implication. this reads to me as a public figure who is just terminally sick of being fought with online, correctly or not.

should the public cancel someone for putting his foot in his mouth and getting petulantly upset about it? I for one do this all the time about less sensitive issues, but it isn't really my place to decide.

I don't think this dude is transphobic and I hope he gets over himself and apologizes

I'm always shocked that the original X-play made it all the way to 2012. I think I stopped watching in like late 2006 or early 2007. The show was great in the early 2000s because it was one of the few places where you could watch a review and see actual footage of game. But when high speed internet became common place, every website started having their own video reviews. Instead of staying up late to watch X-play, you could just go to IGN, Gamespot, or wherever to watch reviews that were more in depth than X-play was offering. So it definitely surprises me that the show last another 6 or so years after I stopped watching.

I want to believe this. Because I don't want a figure from my childhood to turn out to be a transphobe. I watched his Metroid Dread video with The Completionist and he had mentioned something during that about being exhausted from social media dogpiling him over the tiniest things, so I could see this as being something of an ill-worded meltdown over a foot-in-mouth situation that's culminated from a lot of twitter fatigue. I hope. But... ugh... Occam's razor and all that. 😑

I’m annoyed that I’m witnessing an apparent past video-gaming personality being transphobic

you can debate whether or not he was trying to be transphobic or just an ass but the effect with no apology, acknowledgement, or clarification to date is the same

I also get the value of posting shit like that here so that people are aware of minor celebrities saying dumb shit

but it also kind of spoiled my appetite for shitposting despite my last attempt to mix the two

which in turn made me just tired of the sheer amount of shit people just say on the internet

so I decided to just say more shit about it on the internet

I do not think I have a point to prove, nor do I think I’ve proven it

uhhh I guess the takeaway is don’t be transphobic and / or think before you type shit maybe?

Last time I saw Adam's twitter was a few years ago, and frankly, unless he radically changed, I would never take him as transphobic. If anything, I've seen him fight against that, aggressively, on Twitter.

He definitely acts egotistic and loves being aggressive on Twitter (He frankly waste's a lot of time doing this), but I'd be shocked if he was transphobic

I don't get why it's so hard for people to just be nice and respectful on the internet. Being nice and respectful in general is very very easy, it's way harder to be a jerk.

Why make things hard on yourself?
 
I am glad I don't have a Twitter account but that also means I don't know how to read Twitter! The screenshot of the Twitter exchange is confusing to me. Adam seems to be replying to responding to Joe and then Ali is responding to Adam's tweet in the comments. But then who is Adam quote tweeting that is mentioned in later comments? Is Adam's response to Joe the quote Tweet? It's all a little confusing me and it feels like there's multiple comments missing. Again I don't know how to read Twitter. Reddit too for that matter.

Edit: Actually I didn't notice the first post with the Tweets. I was looking at just the second post with just the image which is missing part of the exchange. It makes more sense now.

his behavior is stupid: he's seemingly standing on the "these people yelling at me are trolls and I'm not engaging" ground that we saw grant kirkhope take up fairly recently. this is a fantastic way to seem like a bigoted asshole over literally nothing

or he's a bigoted asshole. to not acknowledge the possibility would be dismissive of me

Ride? Singular? That document lists Zelda as being it's own land with multiple rides and attractions. Fuck me dead yall, I might actually set foot in Florida someday.
 
Did they seriously just launch a Pokémon game, in 2021, that doesn't have the status screen that shows active buffs/weather/etc.?

Apparently no from what I gathered, which is just a big shame given how many people would be interested. But the forum is young and I know how tough it is to coordinate with everyone to cover all bases.

I still feel it is very strange for a company like Nintendo to be holding up finished title while other company had no qualm in releasing unfinished title lol. What's so different between Ninty and other company there?

I'd be pretty satisfied yeah. Of course, the only way it'd top 2017 for mw would be if we got a shiny new DM or 3D Mario.

BDSP just makes some incredibly bizarre decisions at times. So, they decided to maintain the original, pointlessly obtuse, method of unlocking Mystery Gift, but ILCA just completely failed to commit to the bit so we're just left with this awkward thing:

Like, why even bother at that point? This is literally the first game since the original DPPt to force you to do this because Game Freak realized pretty quickly that locking Mystery Gift in the first place was kinda dumb and just complicated the instructions they had to send out to receive Mystery Gifts.

It seems that they postponed the approval of more nintendo expansions of the park until seeing how the super mario part was received.

Following initial plans, Pokemon would go on the Kidzone and Zelda on Adventure Island. And there would only be Kirby in limbo

I can't stress enough how much better does Pokémon BDSP looks on the oversaturated profile of the OLED compared to my color neutral OLED TV.

The game looks very washed up normally.
