Reminder that Nintendo put out this wholesome image

2022 is shaping up to be amazing if nothing gets delayed. Better than 2017, better than 2019.

Multiple projects are finished and waiting to be officially announced. Most of them sound great!

Before you get too excited, I heard about an upcoming casual game that sounds like a stinker. I guess not everything can be a winner.

I hope you all have a great weekend.
Oh no on the casual side I was one of the hopefuls that were waiting for Ring Fit 2(I mean Ring Fit is the awkward candidate were both casuals, sports, fitness, hardcore, everyone gets served, Nintendo just nailed everything with that one).

I'm super eager for 2022!! I finally bought my Switch, just waiting for it to arrive so I can play a handful of 2017-2021 games in preparation for what's coming.

I mean, it already has Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3, Zelda BotW and Metroid Prime Remaster, already a megaton year for me. If it just had a huge plus like a new 3D Mario I would just explode in joy. Something like Mario Kart I would think would make more sense in 2023. I wish Nintendo surprises us with a new IP that's inventive and character focused like Splatoon or ARMS and also single player focused. I'm a hell of a dreamer lol but yeah it's wonderful we can dream that way on Switch era and even get what we always dreamed(I mean open world-like Mario in a realistic city was something that if anyone talked about in 2016 would be laughed at).

The casual game that's a stinker is a new 3D Mario because Mario games are for stinky casuals.
sorry guys, BotW2 is confirmed for poopy casual trash

maybe the casual stinkers… are you two >:}

edit: how do I disable auto-emoji oh god oh no • edit 2: this is a catastrophe • edit 3: settling on >:} because the original keeps correcting to >:)

If its Nintendogs, I'll be disappointed. I don't want a new one to be a stinker :(

First party wise, Nintendo never disappoints, that's for sure.

Switch's third party future on the other hand, never is a sure thing. But I do have a feeling Square will be the winner next year.
I mean Nintendo's third party was never a sure thing from N64-Wii U. Switch's third party future tho is a sure thing. Indies, japanese developers and westerns with exclusives and miracle ports are here to stay not only till Switch is done but even after it gets replaced.

I hope the casual stinker is a full game of Islands from Game & Wario, a game I still play with friends to this day (who call it 'Fronks')

Alternatively, Sketch, the best electronic pictionary ever made

These two minigames are the sole reason my Wii U remains hooked up in my living room. At this point they are stone cold hang out classics

you know what, I never picked that one up, but this is as good a pitch as any

eat it suckers, my Wii U stays out of the closet!!

which is just our unofficial apartment policy at this point given how queer we all are

I'm not sure about that, some of the publishers seem to be too focused on next gen.

Ubisoft for instance, they have one big Switch game next year, Mario + Rabbids 2. But I fear that might be their last game on the system (excluding Just Dance, of course), considering they made something like Avatar next gen only.

It's really difficult to predict what each publishers plans for Switch in the future. Will Namco bring their JRPG's? Will Square continue to exclude Switch for their bigger titles? What's Capcom's future after that Resident Evil game? What else Sega has for Switch? Right now no one can answer these questions.

Lmao

Yeah I must have hundreds and hundreds of hours on that game by now. Probably the most value filled $40 I ever spent.

Especially considering how fucking terrible the rest of the game is...

Ubisoft seems rather focused on making almost all their new games GAAS, which isn't a great fit for a Nintendo platform. I don't expect Dane Switch would do much in that regard but maybe it might convince them to do more late ports.

Square might port FF13 or FF15 to Dane Switch but again, I don't see them changing strategy either. Square will definitely still have Team Asano use Nintendo as their lead platform I think. Capcom will make specific games for Nintendo and their big AAA releases will be multiplatform on beefy hardware.

I actually expect a big support from Square next year, I think it'll be "Square Year" for Switch. Lots of stuff rumored and/or leaked:

Chrono Cross remaster
Final Fantasy IX remake
Final Fantasy Tactics remaster
New SaGa title
New Mana title

And there are confirmed stuff like DQ3 remake, Chocobo GP and Lara Croft games. Feral sure will bring more Eidos games after Lara Croft.

For Capcom, I'm less sure. There's MH Sunbreak next year and Resident Evil Outrage is rumored. Beyond that, there could be more Ace Attorney games but that should be it. They're reluctant to bring Megaman back.

Daisy is probably the closest character there is to Waluigi on Smash's roster, being a predominately Mario spinoff roster filler character, and even she only got in as a really basic clone of Peach. Not a good picture for Wah considering he obviously can't be easily cloned like that.

Does anyone know what could affect the colors of a game besides the TV settings?

I got the FFXII remaster for the switch today and went to compare with the PS4. Resolution wise it's obviously a bit lower but it's still pretty close. What's bothering me is that, for some reason, colors and contrast on the PS4 are much much better. I literally comparing in the same TV, just changing inputs, and same setting too, so why would the colors look so radically different? I'm using both original cables that came with each console too. That is puzzling me, i want to make colors look the same on the switch but I simply can't.

Finally got my SMT V CE in.

It looks so beautiful.

At least port P5R on Steam so I can play it on Deck. I'm fed up with Atlus's decision making.

Don't worry it will happen they already released Persona 4 Golden on PC. I expect P5R to release next year on PC.

The dude who made that made an indie version of custom robo
I bought Synaptic Drive at launch too, but man it's just missing a certain...je ne sais quois

Like it's missing the soul, or something. I get it has a bunch of flavour text to flesh out the lore, and the story mode on Gamecube wasn't exactly in the highest echelon of sci-fi writing, but the game just feels washed out and there's not exactly a lot of methods used to help encourage trying out different parts.

Hell I think I did a semi-OT on Era about it, but man it just couldn't live up to the expectations I had set in my head.

All that being said I still want people to buy/try out Synaptic Drive because I think with just the right effort and development resources put into the right places a sequel could resolve any and all nagging doubts I may have even if Nintendo doesn't want anything to do with the Robo (Custom, Chibi or otherwise)

budget and that helping creative hand from Nintendo and a large team.

this is probably why most indie "replacement" games don't strike a chord with me. they're similar, just not the same

Disappointing if this turns out to be thr next EPD4 game.

Can you share if it’s an interesting stinker or a boring stinker?

So what you’re really trying to say is it’s…

..
Custom Robo without the heart?

So... I finished the 8th day in TWEWY Final Remix, I'm not sure I'll keep playing. The game is fun, but the controls on combat are not working for me. I read people saying the touch screen is the best way to play, but I feel like I have the precision of a drunken flopping fish. I even had to lower the difficulty on the boss in the 7th day after exhausting all my pins combos many times. But I never get any loot while playing on easy :(.
Will these next chapters make it better, should I try the other control method, or just move on?

Can 2022 really be the best year of the Switch's life if it doesn't have a Buddy Mission BOND English localisation? No, don't think so.
