I have been really lucky so far about seeing leaks (aka have not seen any) and as someone that also didn't look at previews (but did see some screenshots from previews very quickly by accident lol) I really hope it can stay that way. I think I am lucky that my international trip the past two week kinda seems to have confused my algorithm a lot. These next roughly 10 days will be brutal tho, but I hope all of us wanting to go into totk spoiler free all manage to do so. I will also try to finally 100% my main botw file (currently around 70%) before totk release, so hopefully that will help with the wait and avoiding spoilers

I do really wish there would be something developers could do about leaks like this, without being anticonsumer. Like, I would love it if a system update was required to play the game, and that system update doesn't come until launch. But there are a lot of problems with that.

I would also love a first day, online check too. Again that has a lot of problems with preservation.

I sort of wish, if games like this leaked, Nintendo release their game digitally first, and give retailers the okay to sell them if they have them.
 
again, there are many reason why the sega saturn strategy doesn't work. Releasing it early WILL piss off retailers massivly

So far I've managed to avoid the leaks. I hope I've trained my YouTube recommendations well enough. It's going to be brutal from here on out.

While I know some of us here have been constantly touting this Youtube Video Blocker extension, I think it's actually made me a LOT less worried about being spoiled. For someone that watches Youtube the majority of the time on my computer apart from work, It's really really effective. Plus I have an exhaustive keyword list I've made that contains certain things I already was spoiled about (which I won't share here), so Twitter and Insta are taken care of (and yes, I did Instagram as well just as a safe measure). Now I've just locked myself to this thread, the hardware thread, and general discussion threads :)
For right now, it's not as much of a nightmare to me.

The YouTube blocker is not perfect. I’ve had it spoil shit for me before. You should also add these channels to your block extension:

I lurked a bit in Era's spoiler thread. I regret it. I don't want to be spoiled about anything. So I decided to stop visiting any gaming site since the release of the game. Even in spoiler threads like this one it's guaranteed that something will be spoiled. You can't believe how sad I am that the game leaked so early. One of the best thing with botw was to explore and discuss your gaming sessions with various people on forums. Now with totk it seems that everyone will know every secret within the game until release. Fuck that!

lol I'm realizing there's just not gonna be a lot to discuss or speculate about in here now that the answers are all more or less out there.....

I hope people discovering what's in the game via the leak (either through streams or posts or directly playing it early) are having a good time! but I feel like all that's really left for me is to Play It Myself Next Friday so I will probably set even this thread to ignore pretty soon . . . thank u all for some great posting & see yall on the other side

I got logged out and can't log back in, seems to be an issue hitting browser accounts, though the ap appears fine.
 
As a proud member of the spoiler thread, I have now decided I don’t want spoiled after all and will proceed with hiding out in here with y’all for the next 11 days

Based on what I have seen, it is not remotely worth mentioning at the moment.

Nothing to be remotely concerned about atm and I fucking hate myself for looking into that thread and actually getting spoiled on shit based on reports of the mood of that thread.
 
If you read the spoiler thread in Era you would think that Botw was the worst game ever made. I believe that 90% of the people commenting in that thread are trolls.

I've waited nearly 4 years to get the questions I've had since the E3 2019 trailer. I think I can stay away from the leaks for the next 10 and a half days so that those burning questions are answered in the most satisfying way, with the game in my switch.

We're nearly there.
 
I am satisfied with what I saw in the spoiler thread and have put it on ignore. Now let us give each other strength to endure these long 10 days.
 
Satisfied with what I've seen in the spoiler thread. Gonna lurk here until launch.

From what I've seen, the cutscenes are the only big spoilers so far (like, "I regret reading this" big) but everything else is relatively minor.

Well at least I don’t have to worry about seeing videos on Twitter since I got locked out of my account across all my devices and cannot log back in for the life of me lol.

Can't login either, maybe it's for the best lol.
 
FWIW I also installed a Chrome extension that filters swearwords BUT I deleted the base word list and then I've been adding Zelda related words. Pretty cool.

They're not perfect but between the Youtube extension and this I feel pretty safe now.
