I'll be honest, they proved me sooo wrong after all those trailers.

I expected the film to be very basic in its representation of Mario's universe, only inspired by the arcade games and the 2D SMB games. But they actually reference the whole Mario history, we even got Odyssey stuff here, it's crazyyy.
Hope they throw some Sunshine reference too !

It looks fun, can't wait. Just one year ago I was the first to comment stuff like "oh it's gonna suck so bad", now I'm legit excited !
 
Movie looks great. Nintendo spent their entire marketing budget on the Mario movie and Tears of the Kingdom will be a shadow drop with no fanfare. 😄
 
I think any doubts that Mario won't be a certified badass in this film have been dispelled here.

Good Lord that Rainbow Road sequence. Everything from Mario's movement to the camerawork is fantastic.
 
I can't believe I'm typing this sentence unironically but: "I can't wait to see some sweet 3D action sakugas on Rainbow road in the official Mario's movie by Illumination".

I thought this was the coolest shit I had ever seen in my like when I was in middle school. Still, it aged really well.

It's always a sad moment when a gamer finds joy in life and can no longer hate on something. That's when you move on to hating something else. Thankfully we got some good candidates. Tears of the Kingdom. Advance Wars. Bayonetta. Pikmin 4! I hear all the cool haters are into Pikmin 4 these days.

Other than that, I'm down for Fire DK being referenced whenever they feel like; He looks pretty cool!

Yeah, I think once DK has a slew of games of his own (mainly 2D and 3D), I'll be all for an epic Mario and DK adventure. Right now, it just doesn't feel earned at the moment.
 
Im seeing again the trailer and it has tons of small details. For exaplme when DK gets his power up, the sound is the one of the DK arcade when you crash a barrel with the hammer, unlike mario who has the classic power up sound. This movie is gonna be amazing, cant wait.

Prolly gonna purchase a ticket at amc for the poster and then get a refund in a couple weeks. Amc way too expensive lol. I rather save 7 bucks.

They really should have just made modern DK DK Jr. from the get go once Rare's take on Jr. turned into Diddy. DK Jr was already an established hero, so aging him up like they did the OG DK into Cranky would've worked perfectly. Especially given DKC1's meta flavored story in the manual starts with DK training Diddy to be a video game hero.
