Probably you need to sell your soul if you want to buy the rivendell or the sauron lego.

Looks like these legos prices can be very, very expensive

Oh I know. Part of me is glad that legos are stupid expensive because I spend enough money on crap. It makes saying no to these sets a lot easier.

Also, in the event there was a liability issue, embedding an Instagram post wouldn't really be any different from a direct image hotlink.
Those instagram and twitter pics will be gone in just few hours when Lego takes action so there won't be a liability problem.

I'm still thinking the 8th is most likely. When Grubb mentioned "later in the week," he specifically said "when I say the week of the 6th, I'm not saying something is happening on the 6th" as an example. All prior Switch-era Feb directs have been on Wednesday. Tuesday announcement for a Wednesday show, book it.

Kit stating the obvious.

But nice to hear out loud from someone who would actually know.

That also makes the second time in two days where he's repeated that he has a hunch we might learn the full story sooner rather than later. Once, that could just be speculating or hedging. But twice? Kind of makes it sound like he has reason to believe we'll find out that information soon.

On a cursory search, I can't find any news about Lego suing someone over leaks. But if you're concerned about the DMCA part, I don't think Twitter/Instagram embeds are meaningfully different from a direct image embed. Either way, Famiboards is not hosting the content, but it is displaying it.
This was a decision made by the admin staff after we got multiple reports about it. We’re just playing it safe.

"Nintendo is one of the most secretive companies in the world, do you really think they're out here telling the ESA or literally anybody that they have a weak schedule of games?"

Preach, Kit.

I have a hunch, too. Either that or my lower back pain is acting up again.

Famiboards members are notorious for their back problems because they spend all had hunched over a screen looking for any news about a Nintendo Direct. Directliosis is what it's called.

I want to buy vouchers, but I love having physical box art. The struggle.
Yeah I'm happy for those who'll make use of the service but as soon as I realized they'd only apply to digital copies of the big first-party games that I'd normally buy physically (and can find even better discounts secondhand anyway), I was kinda out. 😅

Bout damn time the service returned though, anyway.

I can really see the announcement on the 7th, very likely imo. But if its on wednesday no worries. Later in the week probably doesnt mean Friday as they dont do too much then for Directs

Yeah one of the things that's been tripping me up about the whole story is, I think it was IGN who said they were corroborating the story about Nintendo's weak H2 and I thought "since when can IGN corroborate Nintendo's entire damn lineup for the year??"

if I remember wrong and it wasn't IGN who said that then still who the hell

Kit is right in that Nintendo wouldn't tell a third party or even lower level staff the reason why they are not going to be at E3. They would simply just tell the ESA that they weren't attending and not give a reason. So if someone is definitively saying that Nintendo doesn't have enough games for the 2nd half, it would have to be someone at Nintendo high enough up with indepth knowledge of release scheduling, marketing, etc.

I bought a voucher at the end of last year when I got a cheap 100€ gift card.
Used it on Famicom Detective Club cause that is just NEVER on sale.
Still don't know what to get as the second game.

Maybe I'll get Mario Maker 2 to have it easily launchable.

I mean, a third-party may hear from Nintendo that "hey, we're not doing any MONSTER games this Fall, feel free to target that release window" and then that third-party could pass that info along to journalists.

All stakes I have on the 9th are resting on whether Nate was actually teasing or not

Doug Bowser leaker arc?

No, they wouldn't. That's not how things works.

Also any respectable journalist wouldn't rely on a source at say Capcom to confirm what Nintendo's 2nd half lineup is.

I feel like what Kit said about sooner rather than later might actually be something good! What could it be...

It doesn’t make much difference if it’s the 8th or 9th (I guess barring conflicts to being able to watch it live), I’m just happy we seem to be in the home stretch. This Direct will give us a lot of clues and ideas about how the rest of the year will go, and that’s always interesting.

RETURN OF SPACEWORLD

I love Kit and Krysta podcast and listen it to it sometimes but I think people are sometimes giving too much attention what Kit says. And as I say, that's not really a bad thing, he worked at Nintendo so he definitely has some information still. But I remember how he said in summer that Nintendo is not happy about how their things are predictable so they will change the schedule. But we got the usual pre-TGS Direct as normal.

FDC isn't one of the NA voucher games, and I'm very disappointed about that.

Miyamoto spread the story to make sure that EPD work super hard to finish Pikmin 4 for a second half 2023 finish. He's the source. Man just doesn't give a shit any more, unless it's Pikmin.

Good. Tell him to stay away from Star Fox and give it to someone else!

I don't think any of the big 3 would openly admit they would skip a game show due to lack of content. Heck, Microsoft said they knew they didn't have much to show for TGA but still showed up.

Also the metric of what actually is small and big title is a funny one. Pikmin 3 Deluxe sold nearly 2 million copies. I have no doubt that 4 will do at least 3 million. Is it a small release? I don't really think so.

break 10 mill or the game might has well have not been made

Probably because the two games are separate on the US eshop and have the buy one get the second half off thing.
I love how Nintendo has never gotten around that limitation on games like this

for eg, bayonetta 1/2 have never gone on sale digitally AFAIK

Why wouldn't Nintendo talk to third-parties about scheduling, lol.

Working on scheduling for individual releases, sure. But do you really think someone at Nintendo told someone a third party "Hey, you can release a game on this day because we don't have any titles in the second half of the year and oh by the way, this is the reason why we're not attending E3"? This is literally the idea you are suggesting happened.

For a company that is so secret, why would Nintendo tell any third party more than it needs to know?
