The nsuid of XC3 on the NA eshop page was changed from 'XBC3' to '70010000053336' on Apr 15, 2022. And a new trailer with the release date was released 4 days later.

So maybe the Direct will be as early as next week.

Direct January 31st at west, February 1st in east

Both teams wins.

Or we could just get a trailer for Advance Wars or ToTK separate from a direct. Or even just a shadowdrop for the former. Sorry for playing devil’s advocate, but I’m just not totally convinced of the chances for a Direct that soon (but then again, I’m always a cynic when it comes to Nintendo…)

If we get a random Zelda trailer next week I'll still be happy because Zelda, but ughhhhhhhhh
it'd be bittersweet, because directs would officially mean absolutely nothing to nintendo fans. they're already targeting a wider demographic than pre-switch, but zelda just being a separate drop would be the final nail in the coffin for the old idea of directs being nirvana for enthusiasts

What’s the rumor about the popcorn brand?
The rumor is that Orville Redenbacher didn't really die in 95, that his body passed but his brain was preserved and installed in a robot so that he could continue researching how to create the perfect blend of popping corn and butter that would preserve at room temperature on the shelf but still taste fresh and rich after being exposed to simple household microwave radiation. From what I heard the only way this hasn't made the news yet is because he changed his name to stay under the radar. He now goes by "Orville Mechenbacher."

or did you mean the rumor about the Switch contest?

I never go off topic.

So anyways. “Dogs” is Pink Floyd’s best song. Thank you very much.
I have a dozen different answers for this but it's physically impossible to not get lost in the sauce every time I listen to Have a Cigar

Will not be in the next direct, but in a future one?

Gotta be honest, I've never heard of Vanillaware and thought it was a parody name for generic shovelware lmao

I'm always amazed when Direct enthusiasts like you pull up these receipts. Incredible stuff

apparently they're doing a switch promotion that ends a few days before or after the 1st, lining up with the last time they did one and the direct that was then
It’s cool we have another direct cadence theory based off when marketing promotions on snack foods occur. I’ll believe it.

I feel like collective sensibility regarding Directs died so long ago that it’s just a skeleton now. But I’m here for a party not a victory.
I realized a long time ago that being rational about direct speculation was fucking boring and lame

being right isn't fun, piecing together weird circumstantial evidence is

Play Muramasa and 13 Sentinels then.
Both great games. The latter is on Switch.
Vanillaware also made Odin Sphere and Dragon's Crown, but I never played those.

thank god for popcorn and nsuids to make this thread less dull and perfunctory
The vibes aren't off anymore, I love it.

People think that some popcorn brand or what is that is a stronger pattern than the earnings that are thing since 2019. You people learned absolutely nothing in the last 4 years.
This thread was fucking gloomy just a short while ago.
It's finally getting back into the spirit and I'm here for it.

Better to be cynical than than setting expectations to high and plunging this thread back into doomsday mode.

if we get a direct on the 8th I'll be wondering why they decided to keep splatoon separate. maybe it goes back to the changing audience and wanting to avoid boring the average switch owner
Ngl but the Splatoon 2 ver 4.0 trailer was anything but boring. If they want they can make it exciting enough for general audience I think, even if it's just a few new maps and weapons (I'm secretly hoping for more though)

They’ve made Odin Sphere, Muramasa, Dragon’s Crown, and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. One of my absolute favorite developers with Odin Sphere being my favorite PS2 game of all time. Their name comes from wanting their games to be as beloved and timeless as vanilla ice cream.

Orville Redenbacher theory goes even deeper than the contest, for there are regular bags of popcorn (symbolizing a Direct) and mini bags (symbolizing a Direct Mini).

Now, a mini bag of popcorn takes 1-2 minutes to pop, symbolizing a Direct on Feb 1st or 2nd will be a Mini. But, a regular bag of popcorn will take up to 3 minutes to pop, symbolizing a Direct on Feb 3rd will be a full Direct.

Yes, I know a Direct on a Friday is unprecedented but I don’t make the rules.

So a Direct within the next 2 weeks huh, I am excited!

Regarding the ID’s theory, do we know if Advance Wars one changed after the release last year was delayed? Presumably it would have had a similar ID this time last year when we knew it was due in April and you could pre-order?

Okay so I’m a popcorn connoisseur, but I’ve never Orville Redenbacher, is it any good? I usually stick to Jiffy Pop if I’m grabbing popcorn from a grocery store
