Was thinking about it the other day, and one thing I really, really want for announcement in this Direct is dates for Final Fantasy pixel remasters.

The format itself haven’t been changed since early 2018, the only thing the change since September 2019 was the intro music.

Not sure what exactly you mean by format since that will always be the same. But aside from change in intro music, it also changed the overall music when presenters are talking, the intro itself has a different graphics and the headlines have a different graphics too).

I'd like to point out that none of the two announcements just now were done by any Nintendo Twitter/Social account but Devolver and the LiS ones themselves.

Just in case you we thinking of going panic of a Twitter Direct instead of a general one!
 
I like this, more adding to the fuel. Here comes the people saying that this means no Direct, or just the Mini and everything else.

Personally I don’t see this happening for a while, maybe 2024. I don’t think it has to do with the idea of “needing to refresh every 2-3 years,” rather, I think Nintendo will just change it when they think the design requires a refresh for whatever reason.

In other words, I don’t think they change it because of duration. I think they change it because they see some other, more objective reason for a refresh.

(What that reason is, I have no idea.)

I don;t think so. We just had one two months ago and usually(I think always) an indie follows the first direct of the year.

I think they can get away with a small teaser. I think it's fine for them to do a Zelda blowout(which I somewhat doubt will happen in a general), and then have a teaser for a game that isn't coming for another 12-20(or more) months.

Yeah, that's what will probably happen. They will make a new one once negt-gen arrives to differenciate it enough.
