this would be fun but they probably wouldn't do it just for SEO reasons
If you may be wondering if it's problem that the Direct announcement will be different month than the Direct itself. This isn't the problem. As shown in the past:
September 1st 2016 Direct announced last day of August, April 1st 2015 Direct announced last day in March, Smash Ultimate Direct on November 1st 2018 announced in last day of October and list goes on and on.

If Nintendo have so many remastered in the works at least one have to be in the Febraury Direct

Beceause A Prime 1 and Prime 4 announcment will obscure every other rerelease

Why is February the shortest month anyways? Would it be that difficult to gift two extra days to February and take them away from a few months with 31 days?

A century ago, it probably wouldn't have been hard,at least in principle.

In the modern era, changing the calendar like that would have a very real likelihood of breaking an incalculable number of computer programs that count dates to the point where the amount of work (and expense!) It would cause to make any real change to the calendar would be immense. Probably not quite as bad as the amount of effort that had to go in to preparing for the millennium bug, but big enough to the point where any change would never be worth it.

Now that Avengers being shut down this year turned up being true, i have a much better feeling about the Baten Kaitos remake rumors as they're iirc from the same source.

Would be a great opener for a Direct. :]

I don't really see Nintendo showing both Prime 1 and Prime 4 in just one Direct, it might be confusing for people who never played Prime. It would be better to show Prime 1 plus an update on Prime 4 like "it's almost done, but we need more time to show it" imo.

There's precedent of them doing this, though. The first "proper" trailer for Bayonetta 2 after the CGI logo announcement ended with a trailer for the Bayonetta 1 port.

I can see them showing a small teaser for Prime 4 and ending it with a trailer for Prime Remastered.

Assuming either game is actually releasing, that is.

Don't really know what is confusing about it. They gave this exact same update over 19 months ago at E3 2021. I can't imagine a scenario when they show Metroid Prime 1 but Prime 4 is once again a no show. When we see Prime 1 we are also seeing Prime 4.

If they show Prime 4 this year, i get a feeling it's not in the next upcoming general Direct. They'll give Zelda the max focus now, so the earliest i could see Prime 4 appearing is in a E³/June Direct.

Eh, it's pretty niche enough series to be a middle announcement. My own guess is opener will be a Mario title for the summer and the second one should be that new SaGa game. SaGa's been anticipated for years now.

I love speculations, it's fun, but I don't think any content mentioning Call Of Duty on Nintendo console while the Activision takeover is not official yet is even worth discussing.

There has to be that one game that will be heavily promoted at E3 and will release in Holidays. If it's not revealed here, it will be revealed at E3 itself. TotK will be out by then. Something that was Odyssey to E3 2017, or Smash at E3 2018 and so on. It definitely won't be Pikmin sadly. But it will be something else, and that something will be bigger than a lot people think.
I'm glad E3 is back. Last year we had a partner showcase in June, no announcements from Nintendo. As eager as I am for new information, I think that if they have things to announce about Metroid and Mario, there's no better time to do it than during E3. And if they don't launch new hardware in 2023, I'm betting like a lot of people on 2D Mario by the end of the year, because, indeed, you can't call it a "small" release.

The "another damn Donkey Kong" sentiment never made any sense to me because it was Retro's second Donkey Kong game after their first one sold millions of units. Why was anyone surprised they were going to make a sequel?
I'm an absolute Metroid fan, but objectively I think a lot of people unfortunately have no idea how important DK is.

Damn, Mario is actually a Donkey Kong spin off! I loved Rare's games, liked Retro's a lot, and didn't particularly enjoy Jungle Beat, but I find it perfectly logical and pretty cool that Nintendo cares about DK again because it's just gigantic unused potential.

If EPD Tokyo is really working on this, I trust Koizumi to steer their teams towards something exciting and ambitious. I mean, more ambitious than "let's prove ourselves as a new in-house studio with a limited budget and bullshit kongas".

I could see MP4 getting a shorter reveal tease at E3 this year and then maybe even more of a gameplay trailer at the TGAs or something.

That could be an option, but I think it's a different situation. Bayonetta 1 was a port of a recent game at the time, while Prime 1 HD is a big thing for the series.
Even if Prime 4 ends up being a great game, Prime 1 will always be one of Nintendo's more iconic games in history. I can see them wanting to not overshadow it with Prime 4.

Honestly I'm not so sure about that. Prime 1 for later this year and Prime 4 for 2024 could be a possibility.

I had a dream last night that Direct opened with a Dragon Quest 8 remaster/remake and had new content and new features and then i woke up. I'm not happy.

Blame the Romans for February having 28 days. July and August are named after Julius Caesar and Augustus Caesar and obviously those months need to have 31 days otherwise it would dishonor them by not having 31 days so they took them from February. To be honest we should just change it but naw changing things is hard err I mean we have to keep the tradition alive!!!
False ! August is named after Pious Augustus, a nice and lovely roman soldier.

They felt the need to reassure people about MP4 even when announcing a 2D Metroid, if a new Prime project is announced before MP4 is rerevealed then people are going to go batshit and they know it

Had a dream we got a shitty Mini, had like no first party announcements, all I remember was a Pokémon expansion with a new area, and new overworks moves for Koridon/Miridon, and Exoprimal cloud edition. The rest was all shovelware

What should we expect this week? Direct seems pretty hard since we already would have some rumors about it, but maybe we receive a new trailer for Kirby and NSO news?
Nothing, because directs are canceled, no new games ever

This week is team january last stand, good luck and burn in a blaze of glory (and then comeback next year like an annoying fenix)

I hope the direct will be next week because this one is a hell lmao
I doubt I’ll be able to watch it live on the 25th or the 26th (unless it is not at the usual time but at the time of the last direct, in that case I can watch it on the 26th)
We will see.
Next week is definitely better.

Now that Fire Emblem Engage has been released, we can now focus on the event we've all been waiting for

Octopath Traveler II, baby!

A western date for Disgaea 7 seems like a safe bet for the next Direct. And it's nice to see that the game's running much, much better on the Switch than Disgaea 6.

At least we don’t need to go through the whole “the queen has delayed the direct” thing this time. Still can’t believe it actually did impact the UK broadcast of the direct because of TOTK lmao

Aren’t we up for Mario Party 3 this month?
Mario Party 3 does seem most likely, but I want to believe in GoldenEye just because of the Xbox event this week.

If it's not January then no earlier than March; Pokemon Stadium is probably being reserved for Pokemon Day in February

Nate is in no hurry for a prediction podcast so i'm just going to expect mid february for the Direct. We will still have a Zelda trailer in 2-3 weeks

Could you have guessed in 2017 that in the year of our lord 2023 we still wont have seen a shred of gameplay from metroid prime 4? Crazy times indeed

February is the month. Perfect to include another push for the pink blob and Octopath Traveler II
