I definitely agree with the COVID sentiment, I moved to a new city in an old country (baby country but one I lived in before and then didn’t live in) a handful of months before COVID hit and my friendmaking got violently halted.

This place and its predecessors have been a huge part of my social outreach, and I consider y’all friends, and y’all have kept me from the deep dark badtime abyss with our collective “fun ‘n’ friendly” shitpost abyss. Thank you all.

Also gonna cogitate on December schemes. Is |ST Dec. 2021| our preferred format? I was considering alternatives but uh “STD-21” wasn’t sounding like a good idea in a pandemic… or ever…

My personal opinion is that we should be consistent with the naming scheme for the STs, but what that scheme is is very much up to the community. My vote would be for |ST2 Nov 2021|, |ST3 Dec 2021| etc
 
Also it's hard to believe that it's been a month of Famiboards already. It both seems shorter, and also far longer than that at the same time

I mulled it over but I thought that, with the addition of months, the order would make itself obviously so we wouldn’t need the numbers. We can edit if we want both numbers and dates
 
Welcome, November! Looking forward to Pokemon BDSP and the Animal Crossing DLC this month. We're gonna be eating good this month.

...or should I say, eating fresh.

One thing I think the OP probably should have is a link to the first ST somewhere
 
I for one think that the numbers are superfluous

if an ST series has another marker it doesn't need to be numbered too

OP totally needs a link to the first one though

it's just fun to see the number go up and see how many threads we've had when we're a few years into it, but ultimately it's up to you :)

Adding numbers, pros and cons:

Pros:
  • gives a quicker way to refer to a past or future ST
  • number goes up hehe

Cons:
  • that quicker way to refer to past or future STs is much less descriptive, so it's easier to write but less informative to read
  • "number goes up hehe" is a kinda weak reason to do something

Also fun Halloween thing today, Zelda Williams tweeted out that she was gonna finally dress up as Zelda for Halloween, got the fans all excited, and then she posted a picture of herself dressed as Zelda Fitzgerald. ❤️

On the subject of trick or treaters, both of my boyfriends spent about an hour or two yesterday making little goodie bags of candy to pass out tonight (filled with like, fun sized Skittles and Starbursts, chocolate coins, Warheads and some assorted Mexican candy). They made about 40 of them.

We still have like 32 of them left. We got basically one trick or treaters, and one of my boyfriend's nephew brought his kids by to get some. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I just went to check the status of my order, and... it says it's here. It supposedly arrived on Saturday. Didn't even get an email lol

Atlus dubs are usually pretty good so I might leave it on for SMTV

Not like it's Yakuza or something where I absolutely HAVE to go with the subs

Definitely has a roughness to it, but a take like that could certainly prove interesting and definitely maintains its similarities to the old 2D games -- it even lends itself to sections meant specifically to imitate the originals.
Now, unfortunately this appears to be the project's current state.
It appears to have been a school project made in only a few weeks. Here are some contributors. It's definitely a neat concept.

I recently sent someone a joke that "following the breakout success of its Greek mythology-inspired game, Hades, developer Supergiant Games begins work on a new entry in the Kid Icarus series."
I'm not about to suggest the team actually be asked to work on the IP -- I quite look forward to see whatever it is they do work on --, but I do think they could make something that works and that retains these core elements to keep the series within its own identity.
Which really is just another illustration, though without much actual illustration, that there are a great many ways the series could go while still being true to its spirit.

Another thought that's occurred is that the whole "open air" theme Zelda has been going for would have lent itself well to Kid Icarus. And, with the upcoming game, Link even seems to be trying to adopt Pit's style:

And that's without mentioning how much Gods & Monsters Immortals: Fenyx Rising looked like it was meant to be a Kid Icarus of some sort.

All this in mind, it's interesting both how much people took Sakurai's statement that we might see someone not him make a new Kid Icarus in another 25 years to mean it absolutely would not happen before then, as well as how far along into those 25 years we already are with no sign of the series. There is a wealth of possibilities for new games, certainly.

Aww, well that's still an extremely cute idea for y'all to do. My partner and I have lived in our apartment for 4 years and had a total of 1 trick-or-treater in that that so we've stopped bothering with candy. But we did walk through another neighborhood today and there were a bunch out, like a street was closed for it a bunch out, lol

Yeah, I actually feel a little bad for them since they went through all the trouble of buying the candy and putting the bags together. This is our first year in this neighborhood so we have no idea if this is normal or if people here are still cautious. But I think they had an idea that we wouldn't get too many people here, we gave one to the pizza delivery guy with his tip last night, lol.
 
I voted for numbers and dates, but I do think the numbers should be in "**"(i.e 02) format. If Only so it looks nicer in a list and my brain is happy. :)

I just realized that one of the games that just came to NSO is Ristar. I need to play that pronto.

We all panic about the upcoming changeover to ST100 bricking the site and causing mass pandemonium and being the end of the world.

And then the time arrives and it clicks over to OT100 with no issues.
