This is captured from a Japanese Nintendo 64. The texture is correct for the Japanese version of the game (which is what that NSO shot was taken from), though the reflections are indeed missing - which I think is likely related to the transparency issues.
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one that gets to play Sin & Punishment on NSO with a N64 controller."
The true Alpha Wolf plays in Tabletop mode.
1080 and DK64 both made VC so that’s 5 of the 6 slots confirmed, and I’d say Diddy Kong racing would be the bigger get for Nintendo over BC or BT. Especially since it stars a first party characterSomebody get to the Water Temple in the other regional versions of OOT and take a damn screenshot!
I'm still in 'work' (i.e. drinking coffee, posting here, and slowly editing some stuff...)
My issue with this list is the lack of Banjo-Tooie. I hope Nintendo have secured as many Rare games as possible for this.
Remember the organization is by Japanese title as well. Also Excitebike is first party and was on VC so that’s definitely one slot8-12 are mostly known since we have three out of the five confirmed (although exact spots on the list unconfirmed)
8. F-Zero X
9.
10.
11. Kirby 64
12. Mario Golf
Maybe....
-Excitebike 64
-Gex
-Goldeneye (It ain't happening but I'm throwing it on the list)
-Glover
-Harvest Moon 64
-Hydro Thunder
-Jet Force Gemini
Anything else would be out of left field IMO. I didn't throw Hey You Pikachu because of the microphone functionality.
Well if it is by Japanese titles then that might pose a problem for Goemon since their JP titles start with G.1080 and DK64 both made VC so that’s 5 of the 6 slots confirmed, and I’d say Diddy Kong racing would be the bigger get for Nintendo over BC or BT. Even in the west the second game was Goemon’s great adventure. Also this doesn’t exclude more in the future this is just the currently planned stuff to be fairWell if it is by Japanese titles then that might pose a problem for Goemon since their JP titles start with G.
-Ganbare Goemon: Neo Momoyama Bakufu no Odori
-Ganbare Goemon Derodero Dōchū Obake Tenko Mori
So either we get one of the games with Excitebike or we get none of them. Either way that makes the space between Mario Tennis and Sin & Punishment even more interesting since I had Mystical Ninja pegged for two spots.
It's actually an overblown misunderstanding stemming from a streamer throwing a fit over it for several minutes that was then tweeted about. So what you're saying is this is likely a very overblown misunderstanding based on a single tweet? Couldn't be!
The internet can speedrun faster than any of us, I've learned. If I try to speedrun my way (as an amateur just doing the game normally but fast lol) to the Water Temple, what are the odds someone beats me to a Dark Link room screenshot right as I'm getting to the temple?
M2 did Genesis apparently EDIT: it's not 100% confirmed thoughDid NERD do the Genesis emulation? Or was that M2 or someone else?
I've been meaning to make this side by side for a while now
love to see itM2 did Genesis apparently
I gotta say, playing Mario 64 with the Pro controller feels exactly like it did last year when I did my 100% run in 3DAS. I’m not feeling any input lag at all. I got two stars and then had to force myself to put the game down because I don’t have time to get sucked into Mario 64 again right now!
God Mario 64 is so good
I've been meaning to make this side by side for a while now
But isn't that the Temple of Time in BotW?

If Genesis gets some never re-released games on NSO, that upgrade price would be worth it for that alone with M2's S-tier emulation.M2 did Genesis apparently
M2? Well, that's Music 2 my ears.M2 did Genesis apparently
It is a blessed day, Install Base now has a dark mode.
Did M2 also work on the Sega Genesis Mini? It would give a little more credence to "mini consoles had a headstart in emulation development" to explain the state of N64 if that got ported to Switch.M2 did Genesis apparently
I can just imagine the usual Nintendo-focused YouTubers getting excited at the potential clicks they'll get for their outrage at N64 NSO. Looking forward to Nov. 5 when the ACNH DLC drops.Meanwhile you have Kotaku, who've taken social media posts at their word and haven't bothered to check any of the issues against their own experience. They also used GameXplain's lag video to confirm lag is much worse on NSO, despite the fact that what that video ultimately demonstrates (using a flawed methodology) is that the amount of input lag is comparable to the original experience.
GameBoy should be simple enough that there aren't any problems (in the background, the monkey paw curls). Plus, the Zelda Game & Watch is out next month and has Link's Awakening on it - that may well be using similar emulation to what's planned for the Switch so that can be a trial run, in a sense.Did M2 also work on the Sega Genesis Mini? ...but so help me if now I have to side eye potential Gameboy emulation and whatever weird quirks are involved in that...
From what I remember, the basic turn of events behind the scenes seems to have been something like:Maybe I'm a bit late bringing it up but does a Metroid Prime 1 remake instead of just porting the trilogy make any sense?
It would be a lot of people's first introduction to Metroid Prime and going from 1 straight to 4 on Switch just seems silly.
For me personally, as someone who hasn't played much of any Prime game I wouldn't want to play a remake of 1, and then have to play sd versions of 2 and 3 just to get ready for 4. Or even if they were ported in HD to Switch it would still feel like a weird mishmash, going from a remade 1, to remastered 2/3 and then back up to a made-for Switch Prime 4.
I'd much prefer a remastered trilogy or remakes of all 3 before 4 releases.

Only when they don't have to pay for it. (Kotaku loves those outrage clicks too)That's weird - I thought Kotaku loved emulating Nintendo games.
Heathen!Tried it, didn't like it. I'm sticking to light mode over there.

As someone who has a direct hand in our dark mode, I appreciate it, but I'd prefer if we avoided direct comparisons like this.Yay Install Base dark mode! Finally! Could be better, though. The Famiboards dark mode is so much more pleasant.
MP4 will presumably set up a different plot. The main story arc of the original trilogy concluded in 3. You probably won't need to know much about how happened in the previous Prime games before jumping into 4.
That's weird - I thought Kotaku loved emulating Nintendo games.

Heathen!
