Same. Like, I personally enjoyed TLJ, and RoS I still am not keen on watching a second time since its theatrical run but like, not the worst. I can understand people being upset that there was no cohesive plan for the sequel trilogy run and I agree with it, but people who are just a little too vocal with their dislike of TLJ inevitably start pointing towards Daisy Ridley or Kelly Marie Tran as the reason and I immediately tune out and mark their opinions as irrelevant sexist trash. Honestly, this. Any other movie I can think of that might come close is more than likely a book adaptation in some capacity, and arguably I think the only movie that has since come out that is an original property, with (hopefully) no need to expand with a franchise is Everything, Everywhere, All At Once

Also, as our resident mechanic on Famiboards, would you have any insight on preamps hardwired to car radios? 😅 Had my neighbour install a preamp on my '75 Pontiac (40w radio to all four speakers, they could use a lil boost lol), and when he reconnected the battery we realized you could hear the alternator whine when the radio is on. He's doing some research now on insulation, but do you think anything like running a line for the rear speakers direct to the radio instead of being grounded to the vehicle body might help any? If it's out of your scope no worries; just spitballing and hoping I can get this job done before it gets too cold to drive a convertible with the top down haha

If anything, I'd like to address that in no way do I find your posts toxic positivity, and I genuinely appreciate when you do round up some good news now and then to take away from the doom and gloom that so often pervades the news and social media. Like, it's to a point where I actively bury my head more often than not when it comes to global affairs, and every time I do resurface I just see that it's actively getting worse whether it's Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the crackdown in Iran or the rise of fascist support across North America. I know it's irresponsible to completely shut out what's going on in the world entirely, but at least with something bright to look forward to, that there is some hope yet on this Earth that we can make efforts to support conservation, undo the damage of pollution and climate change, make meaningful progression in human rights for countries that don't yet already support it, like at least that gives some fuel to keep fighting for what's right.

Definitely in agreeance that gaming discourse can be too negative; you can definitely be critical of media without resulting to ad hominem attacks, and I swear that's all people do simply because they lack the tools to accurately articulate their thoughts.

this is a huge step down in quantity but the quality of Kirby and Splatoon was absolutely insane

I've literally had friends try to convince me that nobody ever bullied Daisy or Kelly and that all the online hate was people hired by Disney to create controversy (and that Disney wrote the letters that the two women posted when they left social media), all to sandbag the films so if anyone voiced valid negativity towards them they could automatically be labelled as sexists and racists. And therefore the overwhelmingly loud and negative "fan" reactions were a win because it proved that Disney couldn't silence them. 🙃
And that is why I don't talk about Star Wars with anyone anymore.

Oh dang, unfortunately that is kinda out of my scope. I've never messed with amps or preamps, anything I've ever done with stereos was installing simple head units and wiring the speakers directly. I've never even heard of grounding speakers to the chassis, I've only ever sent the two wires per speaker back to their corresponding spots on the stereo. But again, that's without using amps or anything and I seriously dunno how that stuff works (my "loud music" has always come more from things like, ya know, sawzalling the muffler off or whatever 😅)

Same, I only talk Star Wars with my friends whom with which I have an unshakeable bond, and also at least we're mostly on the same page while still having entertaining discussions about galaxies far, far away.

Oh it truly is, just make sure it's this video specifically. I tried to look up that video originally and come across a twenty-seven minutes long video podcast of four white dudes pissed that Freddie was 'cringe' saying he's wrong and calling him the r-word. So like...it'll get people cope/seethe/malding if that's your intention 😂

And all good, figured it was worth a shot asking! Hell it was funny when they took out the glovebox it looked like the previous owner of the car also installed a preamp that doesn't quite look stock, but it wasn't even plugged in, and made some hella weird modifications to the stock radio, so it might be a bit of an intense job either way to get it finished haha (mufflers are overrated anyways)

...I can safely say I do not know about Italy's recent election and like, state of the world and all, I feel like it might be for the best if I only lose hair over local Canadian politics and Conservative Leader Peepee who wants to invest our economy into NFTs 🙃

I will give credit though that Oops, All Brofield! Edition made me laugh hard enough to trigger what latent coughing I still have from my recent covid infection, so cheers! 😂
 
Decided to play some 3ds games till Zero comes out and went with Devil survivor 2. Man I forgot how "cozy"(maybe not the best word) this games are lol. I loved 1 and the small mystery survival aspect of it really hits. I am not a fan of atlus dub games (usually console games) but all their handheld games have good va.

Now with all this strategy games coming out or announce and the positive reactions I hope atlus can revisit this spinoff that at the very least will do on par or better (since its different scope, combat, etc.) that Soul Hackers.

At some points I find it easier to abandon the wiring and just get a standalone kit and start from scratch, seriously. 😅 A friend of mine once had the taillights stop working on their VW Beetle, and popped the unit only to find the previous owner had joined the wires with household twist caps. You never know what the person before you did.

I lose my hair over Canadian politics as well, mostly because I've always looked at Canada as a potential place to escape to if America gets too bad, and now I'm seeing waaaaaaaay too many similar things up there for my liking so.. uh.. New Zealand? 🤷‍♂️

I mean, maybe that should have been the course of action, but he did spend several hours soldering in the preamp to ensure it would have an extremely solid connection and kept the wires all neat and tidy for the next time the radio would have to be pulled out just in case, so I think we're in too deep now 😂 But DAMN that sounds rough. You ain't wrong, but...yeah. Wouldn't even know how to get in touch with the old owner just because my uncle bought the car from Florida and had it shipped up north lol

I'm finally playing Bayonetta 1 again. I have no idea on what I'm doing, I just spam buttons, but omg gameplay, it feels so good, it feels so right. I love getting into Witch Time omg. I hate Quick time events though...

in some fun news my final RSA bday sale order finally shipped today! I’ll have to do a new collection pic when it gets in.
Sans Nichijou because the restock has taken so long. So that’s still on backorder. Which reminds me, wanted to start putting together a list of must haves for my collection I’d like to grab in the big RSA November sale since it’s the last guaranteed good one. Maybe I’ll finally nab Turn A.

I have a friend begging me to move to Aus but first of all I cannot handle heat (it's actually the reason I'm trying to run away from California 😅) and second of all she has shown me photos from the Sydney pro-Trump protests and even some conversations with friends of hers who are Trumpers and just.. boy howdy, America has gotten all over everything.

I've actually not been to Australia before but I feel like if I did get to visit it I probably would enjoy it a great deal. But, uhh...hearing about Make Americaustralia Great Again mentality crossing the Pacific is...concerning, to say the least.
 
I need to share my anguish. So I am moving soon, and I have held off for a while buying new games. I have built a list of games that I have on my absolute wishlist that I will buy after having settled and money is no longer the factor that makes me lose hairs on my head.
