Probably futile, but I'm going to ask people to fully spoiler tag Direct leaks or even better not talk about them in this thread for the next 2.5 hours. We just got a good (possibly fake) surprise in the Direct thread and one other indirect confirmation, so maybe we can make this the hangout thread for people who want to go in blind. I know, advertisement spoilers, but people do enjoy the entertainment angle and we are now super close to the show.

If you want to be extra safe, hop off the internet now.
Just bumping this for the new page. Was a fake leak, but good to be cautious. Less than 2 hours to go!

Happy 37th Birthday Super Mario Bros.!

I am staying clear of the thread for now just because I don't want to catch a stray 4chan leak. Directs are like birthday or Winter holiday gifts, finding out what you're getting in advance spoils the surprise

My girlfriend literally said yesterday “I guess we have to get Subway tomorrow to celebrate the Direct, don’t we” and then sighed heavily
Why am I laughing so much at this

I say preempt the “issue” and make your own sandwiches

Yeah, thanks, I’ll hang out here instead. But I’ll probably bow out of the internet anyway until the Direct hahaha

Spoiler alert: I didn't sleep and am cranky and this dog thinks my face is a fun place to put paws with sharp nails.

this is older news but they found a GameCube on the moon

I finally beat Xenoblade 3, and I gotta say, the game is too long. Not like I wanted it to be over or anything. It's was really good and I'm looking forward to the postgame and DLC! But I hung out with these characters for so long that it has affected the way I speak. I start every other sentence with, "I think I get it now," and pause for ten seconds before saying anyone's name.

Since my work-meeting starts the same time as the Direct and will last for at least an hour, if not two, and I probably won't be at home until 4-5 hours until after the Direct aired, I still don't know if I

1) am just gonna spoil myself by looking at the headlines during breaks, or
2) quarantine until I get home and watch the thing as if it was happening then.

First time in ages I miss a General Direct, not sure if I have the strength required to go with route 2.
If you like, I can DM you a link when it's available? That way you can leave your messages open here and completely avoid possible spoilers

Y'all sometimes forget to Yeah a post and then go back through it to give it a late Yeah? Makes me feel like those people that go creep mode through people's instagram albums.

I have the Direct page bookmarked, which should work too, so I am not too worried about that, but thank you!

It's more about if I am able to actually not spoil myself on purpose because of impatience.

And so it begins

Great Direct. Definitely not what was reported but that’s just fine by me. Been a massive fan of the farming genre since A Wonderful Life, and Ryza 3 is looking incredible.

wouldn’t have guessed that name in a hundred years

I would have guessed something with tears but NEVER kingdom

Im super happy with this direct.

Fire Emblem and Ocotopath 2 looks freaking amazing. So early 2023 is already safed for me. I did like the pace of the direct too.

The only thing i personally would have prefered to see is Metroid Prime Remake instead of Zelda. I love Zelda but if it comes out in May i honestly could have waited with this trailer till early 2023.

I really wonder whats going on with Metroid. I do believe the leaks that the Game is done. So it does feel like that maybe Prime 4 is still not coming along as planed so they hold Prime 1 back?

good direct, full of stuff

but I absolutely got the impression that they’re holding something back in a bigger way than usual

(Posting here as well so it doesn't get completely lost in the shuffle of the main Direct thread)

My bingo card was an absolute bust lol

I guess the BotW2 date is suspicious, but I specified plural there so I didn't count it. Not that it mattered anyway lol.

Yeah, that was an underwhelming Direct. The Switch's lineup is so incredibly saturated with 'slower-paced' genres (JRPGs, Farming Sims, VNs) and it really, really showed here. I have time in my life for those sorts of games, but it's rare, and there's already so many older ones to play anyway. Pikmin 4 announcement was great but it was a 'nothing' announcement, and getting a BotW2 title and date was nice... but, honestly, the "tease upon tease," method they're choosing here has reduced my hype instead of increasing it.

Anyways. With the Direct done, I bid ya'll farewell, and thank you all for making the Direct so fun despite the tepidness. I'll (probably) be back in 2023, ready for the year where we (hopefully, maybe) get the Drake. Bye! :)

frankly the biggest disappointment for me is no Game Boy / GBA, but I also wondered if they were gonna hold off a bit to stretch the oldies

Tunic is a big win in my mind

Bummed no Metroid or Mario, but wow, loved the Direct! So many awesome games I can’t wait to play!

I know the Direct thread will be most popular for a while, but a preemptive welcome for everyone who starts wandering in here to discuss Nintendo generally(!) with us! I’ll be updating the OP with the best trailers later in the afternoon!
